HELLP!! cancellation questions

If a member of the cruise party may not be able to make it what should I do? Cruise is nearly paid in full for 4 people, 1 person is up in the air and will not know til closer to the the cruise (Dec. 30th). Can we wait to cancel? Do we have to cancel or can we(3 people who can for sure go) show up on the cruise date without the 4th person and without canceling? what are the options? how does paying for it work? help!! are you out of a lot of money if you cancel and not replace(change name)? how late can you change name? sorry so many questions!!

If you cancel before the PIF date, there is no penalty (assuming you are not concierge). But if they decide to go after they are cancelled, you may or may not be able to add them back to your cabin (depends on how full the ship is -- may not have room in that lifeboat station, may not have any quad rooms available. Holiday sailings tend to be pretty full.)

If you leave the 4th person on and at the last minute they cannot go, the other 3 can certainly sail. You would just lose all the money for that 4th person.

Anything in between PIF and cruise date depends on when you cancel. Penalties start at PIF date with a penalty of the deposit amount and get higher and higher until about a week before the sailing when it is 100% penalty.

If you leave the 4th person on the booking and have someone that can go in their place, you can do a name change for a fee. Not sure off the top of my head when you would have to do a name change by.

If the cancellation is made before the payment due date, the money will be 100% refunded as long as it is not a concierge room (deposit will be lost). After that you are subject to penalty fees. The fees depend on length of cruise, whether or not it is a holiday sailing or if it is a concierge room.

I believe that I saw on another thread that it was $50 to change the name after the PIF date.
