"Hello? I'm in the Carousel of Progress.."*UD1/13pg74"All Good Things...*

Hi Missy!! I'm all caught up! Finally!! I'm glad I haven't missed too much. I compltely understand how busy you've been lately. :rolleyes1

Sounds like you are having a great time at Epcot. We loved the KP mission we did and I think we'll plan to explore the WS by doing KP missions next time. I hope they keep it around for a while. I agree with what you said about pausing to enjoy the country and don't just rush around following the clues. I wish we had had more time to do just that.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your day. :goodvibes

Hi Missy!

I really enjoyed your last updates! Tricia and my niece, Catie, are so excited about their plan to trick Ed into drinking the Beverly! (Personally, I don't think they'll be able to keep a straight face and he'll catch on.)

I really want to do the KP Missions... will definitely take your advice and ask for 2 kimmunicators! :thumbsup2

The boys looked like they were having so much fun splashing in the fountain... its the little things sometimes!

Kathy

Great Update. We really liked the KP missions. What a great addition to WS. We love the movie in China as well. I just don't like the standing. :upsidedow

Thanks for reading my TR. :)

No BC for us. We've decided to stay at CSR.

Can't wait to hear more.

The 360 movies are tough for me because I get motion sick, but I can do them. I just need to close my eyes sometimes! And the standing stinks too...especially when you've been walking all day.

CSR sounds great! How exciting that you already have another trip in the works!

Ooooooh, KP sounds like so much fun! About how long did it take you to complete each mission, do you think? I'd like to try it, but I'm not sure about taking a significant amount of time away from our WS day kwim?

Actually, they don't really take away your time. You can explore the country at your own pace. It really ADDS to the WS experience, in my opinion. How long you take on the mission is totally up to you...you can speed through or go slowly and do other things while you look for clues. Try one out and then if you like it you can do more!

Those puppets are neat! Are the two in the pictures the two that your boys took home?

No...they actually came home with two birds (kind of like flamingos).

I'm glad Dan inhaled .. I mean enjoyed (LOL) his lunch at the Lotus Blossom Cafe - sometimes, good Chinese food really hits the spot! :thumbsup2

We joked about how much he liked that noodle bowl...so funny!

I can't wait to find out what fascinated Jonah in Mexico, what tasty treat Isaiah discovered and whether or not you were able to save Mexico!! :yay::woohoo:

Stay tuned...coming up soon! :thumbsup2

Summer has been absolutely INSANE! School starts on the 8th so I'm hoping to settle back into some sort of routine.

I hope they keep them too. We really enjoyed the missions we did. Of course, like any new attraction, there will be tweaks, but I think KP is a great addition!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your day. :goodvibes

Thanks Amy!

Oh boy, Ed has never tried it?? Can't wait to see that picture!

Take 2, they're small! LOL!

Kathy

I totally agree...some of the boys' favorite memories are of the little things like the fountains and the root beer floats for breakfast!

Hey Missy, glad you're back and that you had a great summer! :goodvibes

Great update, the KP missions sound like a lot of fun. My DS is probably still a bit young for one, but who knows?! Glad you saved China...can't wait to find out if you saved Mexico too?! popcorn::

Hmmm...my bet is Churros were discovered. :thumbsup2 YUM!!

Thanks for all of the info on the KP missions!! I really think my boys will have a lot of fun. I showed them some of the photos that you posted, and they already started debating about who gets to hold the communicator, and we're not going for two months!

Boys....:rotfl2:

Your DS might enjoy the missions. You get to see some cool stuff that only your Kimmunicator can activate. I think he'd get a kick out of that..but you'd have to do all the reading.

You just might be right about those churros! Wait and see! :goodvibes

Oh good..I'm so glad I could be some help. I'm tellin' ya....get two and divide the family up! BEST way to go about it! LOL! ;)

The KP Mission looks like a blast! I'm interested to see what y'all thought of the CS in Mexico...I have it on our list of places to try to have something other than burgers and pizza.

Looking forward to the next update!

That update is coming up next! Thanks for sticking around even though I've been MIA most of the summer! ;)

We just got back from taking the boys to see UP! We didn't see it in 3D, but we all laughed a lot and really enjoyed it. (I was the only one to get teary, but that's to be expected in a house full of boys!) If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend it. Very cute! And I LOVE that opening of all Disney movies with the castle and the fireworks...it so makes me want to go there!! :goodvibes

My next update is almost ready to post...I'll try to get it up tomorrow sometime. Thanks to all my faithful DISfriends for sticking it out with me through my long periods of absence this summer! :grouphug: You guys are awesome!

Hi Missy :goodvibes

Just got back from Disney and have been trying to catch up.:thumbsup2
Great update!! We just love Epcot!! Kim Possible sounds like so much fun! We didn't get a chance to try it again this trip. But I am determined to try it if we go back next year!! (I've read so many great things about it recently;))

Oh...and we LOVED the movie UP!! I got very teary at the beginning also. It was such a great movie!! I can't wait to buy it!:thumbsup2

Can't wait for your next update!popcorn::

Hi Angie!! Welcome home! Are you writing a TR? I'm there if you are! :thumbsup2

Up was a really great movie, wasn't it. I cried too. I don't think my boys did, but Will was asking questions.

I'm planning to stick with you, even if it takes you until Christmas (though I will have to take a break in about, oh, 19 DAYS! :rotfl:).

By the way, speaking of movies, did you get 17 Again on DVD? ;)

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your day in Epcot. I'm working on the Epcot pages in the boys' books right now. :thumbsup2

Ashton & I loved UP!!!! we did not see the 3D version either. I don't know if he would have enjoyed that version as much. I, too, love when the fireworks go up over the castle and Ashton was priceless (he does not refrence much to our May vacation) but he said really loud -- 'Look the castle" that is my castle...I walked to it"
now remember this is a 3 yr old it was so funny to here his dialect everyone around me giggled!
:wave2:

I didn't get the DVD yet, but we did get it on pay-per-view and watched it....um...several times!

Thanks Carissa! Dan was a HUGE fan!

After Dan scarfed down his noodle bowl in China we headed to Mexico so the rest of us could have some lunch. TENGO HAMBRE!! And Mexican food is one of my favorites. :thumbsup2 We had not tried the CS place in Mexico before and were excited to see what it had to offer.

Upon arriving in Mexico, Jeff and the boys got seats while I ordered our food. We all got the combo platter with a churro for dessert. We sat right next to the wall that separated the gift shop from the restaurant. I do remember the food being tasty, I remember a family of baby ducklings, but what I remember most is the family at the table next to us. The poor mom brought back everyone’s food and as she went to set the tray on the table she spilled one of the drinks all over the little girl. Mom did not handle that well and angrily went off to get a replacement drink...which the little girl promptly spilled on herself as soon as she got it. Ok....not funny, I know. Especially because mom was really fuming. The dad told the kids while mom was away getting the 3rd drink, to be prepared to leave the park. Awww...over spilled soda? What a shame. :sad2: Anyway...they eventually pulled it together, but that’s about all I remember of our meal! :rotfl: OH....remember Dan had already eaten, so he saw this guy and headed over to get a pic or two.
(At 14 I LOVE that he still wanted to do this even without his younger brothers!)

I am so grateful for Photopass! I was sitting and eating so I didn’t even see this interaction.

After finishing our meal, we moved on to our delicious desserts....CHURROS!! MMM....pure sugary goodness! ::yes:: Isaiah was a huge fan and requested these as snacks throughout the rest of the trip!

With our tummies full, it was time to start our 2nd KP mission. I didn’t take a lot of pictures because the inside of the Mexico pavilion is dark and the pics don’t tend to turn out well. But we did take time to look at the beautiful carved animals, check out the cool Day of the Dead stuff ( I have boys, they love skeletons!), and ride the boat with Donald and his friends. We also went into the glass shop and Jonah was completely fascinated with the artisan who was working on a blown glass creation. I couldn’t tear that boy away! (Funny because we live about 90 minutes from Corning and the Museum of Glass and I have never taken the boys there....it’s now on the list of things to do!)

FridayEpcot--Disney200950.jpg

While Jonah’s attention was otherwise occupied, I browsed the store and found this little beauty!

FridayEpcot--Disney200949.jpg

I always knew I was a princess! Anyway, as much as this princess wanted to take the tiara home, it was $250 and out of the royal budget. Sad. :sad1:

Once again we managed to defeat the villain vowing to destroy Mexico and we headed back out into the bright sunshine to head to Norway.

We had never gone in this little building, so I was so excited that we were taking the time to do the little things!

FridayEpcot--Disney200948.jpg

We looked at the cool Viking exhibit and enjoyed the air conditioning of this place! And I found this cool Hidden Mickey on the robe of the Viking King!

FridayEpcot--Disney200947.jpg

We decided to wait to ride Maelstrom later because we knew we would be back and we had plans to go back to POR for some swimming and rest. The stand-by line was 30 minutes so we just grabbed a set of FP’s for later and continued to explore Norway and its cool shop!

FridayEpcot--Disney200944.jpg

Jonah was the only one doing the mask, so he got his “charm” and stamp and we were off to the Kringla Bakery! I had been looking forward to this since the planning stage of the trip! Funny though, I was not hungry and so I didn’t even eat anything! But, Jeff tried the famous school bread, Isaiah got a plain sweet pretzel, and Dan got a chocolate pretzel.

FridayEpcot--Disney200942.jpg

I told Jeff I had to have a picture for my TR because school bread is a DIS favorite. He was happy to cooperate!

FridayEpcot--Disney200943.jpg

We really enjoyed the shady patio of the bakery and everyone loved the pastries they ordered. Jeff gave school bread a thumbs-up...I tasted it too, because I just HAD to try it....and I agreed. :thumbsup2

It was now about 3:00 and Epcot was having EMH this evening. Our “we don’t have a touring plan” plan was to head back to the resort to swim and rest during the afternoon and then go back to Epcot to finish our WS exploration around dinner time. We decided we would head toward Future World, use our Soarin’ FP’s from earlier and then hit the buses. On the way, Jonah had been holding out for one of these all week!

Up Next...We’re Soarin.....or not so much? :confused3

Dan's interaction with Donald, too too cool!:thumbsup2

Don't tell Isaiah, but he'd be an awfully pretty girl.:cutie: At least, girl Viking.

You didn't buy the $250 tiara? Why ever not?:confused3

I sadly didn't love the school bread, but Jonah's Itazakazookie(?) looks devine on a hot day!

I have always wanted to try the counter service place in Mexico. Sadly, Hunter does not eat anything remotely close to mexican food. I'm trying to get him to eat more things but he just doesn't like them.

I feel bad for the little kid with the other family. I try my best not to be one of "those" parents.

Hunter, too, was fascinated by the glass guy in Mexico. He could have stood there forever.

Great update! :goodvibes Your lunch sounds delish - gotta love a combo platter so you can have more variety! I hope the pop-spilling family took a deep breath and chilled out some! :sad2:

Aww, I think it's wonderful that Dan wanted to have some Donald time to himself :thumbsup2

You know, I think you've convinced me to try at least one KP mission! I've read about several of them now and your explanation about the missions not taking away from WS but adding to the experience swayed me

So cute that Isaiah was so interested in the glass-making. Yep, definitely a trip to your local glass-making places would be a hit, judging from that!

 the tiara - all princesses should have a tiara! Good eye on the hidden Mickey :thumbsup2

I'm glad Jonah got his treat (I can never remember what those things are called - Itza something or other ).

I hope you're able to get your Soarin' on! :cheer2:
