Heard some FP kiosks were uncovered in MK today

From the sounds of it. They are working on getting rid of advanced booking. It would be day of for everyone. The one I could see happen is staying on property gets a certain amount of free ones.

It will be interesting to see the details, if it ever gets released. But again, this is just another rumor and who knows how accurate it is. The one thing we know, without any doubt, is whatever they put out, people are going to clutch their pearls as though the world was ending. My only gripe is the time they're taking to do something about crowd levels. It's ridiculous.

Oh great, can’t wait to spend the beginning of my vacation getting fast passes that will then end up affecting all the plans I’ve made prior

I’ve always felt that the fast pass plans take priority over my dining reservations, because I could eat anywhere, but I can only ride at Disney.

Only certain restaurants I wouldn’t change though if fast pass was during that time

. I think there will be many people dropping from heat exhaustion while waiting 70 minutes for 7DMT and other headliners. Again, I know it was my choice to go, but IMO Disney really should do something to shorten the standby lines.
* Fireworks added for diversion since my booking

The standbyline for 7dmt is frequently over 70 minutes. How many guests drop from heat exhaustion?
FYI for those pointing at Ogas availability as evidence of increased park capacity... that makes zero sense, capacity within Ogas was increased... independent of park capacity.

Oga had to slash capacity to comply with social distancin.
That is your point of view. Studies were done by Touring Plans and others showing insignificant amounts of time added. But yeah,...
The only study I've seen was Touring Plans comparing FP with FP+
How a guest obtains a FP shouldn't affect the standby lines.

Generally I agree. It’s the 24 hour $10 per person cancellation fee that’s a problem

is that still the policy?

The GotG ride isn't opening up until maybe Spring of 2023. I'm hoping that the opening of Tron by the middle to late next year reduces the demand for Rise of the Resistance.

What I heard is that Guardians is the one that is opening next year. In either case, any new E Ticket should steal some thunder from ROTR.

Yeah I didn’t think about that one. Sometimes I take the fee if only 2 or 3 of us if I really wanna just cancel something

I'm not loving day of. Especially if you have to be in the park to make them. I guess time will tell. We like to sleep in on vacation. That was a problem with paper fastpass, they would be gone. We were content with the 3. We were happy with a guaranteed 3. Whatever it is, hope it happens soon.

According to the same source at that website, there is a possibility that resorts guests could book in advance. They do say nothing is set in stone, but it is a possibility. Hopefully they won't make it resort specific, I don't think the value/moderates can take much more. But check in can be done well in advance of trip so it's a great advantage.

"Potentially you can book / buy passes x amount of days ahead once you check in. "

Which means 12am on your check-in day if you want to do online check-in.

I’ve commented a few times.. but if I can ease anyone’s mind on being nervous about a day of system like maxpass..

it’s really not bad. You get scanned into the park- so arrive early for rope drops and you can make your first FP selection. It then starts a timer on when you can make your next one. If your paying good attention to that time you can make the next one- you easily start stacking them for the day.
Also- it’s nice when you take a hotel break- you can keep making them and start stacking them for the evening.

our Disneyland trips we easily rode headliners multiple times in a trip.. once you learn the rides that run out of FP first and get the system down it’s really nice.
It’s interesting that folks used to fastpass plus can’t imagine not having it and those of us who have every only used maxpass can’t imagine pre booking fastpasses.

one thing people have liked about post Covid Disney is that it doesn’t require extreme planning. That’s why we have always loved Disneyland.

I think Disney can use the park reservation system to create a day if fastpass booking that wouldn’t require you to be in the park.. they have done that with boarding groups. Then fastpass for hoppers opening up at 2pm for other parks.

I didn't know that you could check in this early. I thought it had to be the day of.

Yea I’m not sure what the timeframe is and I’m new to online check in myself so I wasn’t sure. But I def have the ability to check in for my October trip at the moment.

I don't know specifically how long it is, but when I booked my trip for the end of July over 2 weeks ago, online check in was available. It's always been at least a couple of months lead I believe, at least since online check in was a thing. After reading it again I see that the exact wording is you'd get an unknown number of days to pre-select your FP's IF you had done online check-in, not that you'd be able to book at check in.

Ah I see that makes sense. An early mobile check in would activate the ability for a window to open up (at a later point), kind of like how a hotel reservation opens up dining windows but this takes it one step further. Interesting.

I have the option of online check in right now for a June 2022 stay

So another system that forces you to be at rope drop? No thanks!

That was one of the beauties of FP+, being able to pre-book and sleep in if necessary

I’m not trying to cause an argument or devalue anyone’s concerns but has anyone actually been in the parks during these horrible “wait times”? I’ve been twice since reopening (sept 2020, April 2021) both times were so much better than years past. I loved not having to worry about planning everything and running around trying to make our reservations. I have seen many tik toks and vlogs where people are testing the “wait times” and they are almost always inflated. I’m just wondering if anyone who’s complaining about these crazy wait times are actually waiting in the lines or just seeing the numbers and moving on to something else.
