I did crowd control for a couple of Halloween parties last year. I've heard stories from my coworkers about the headless horseman, so I'm not 100% sure on the accuracy of them. The horse is trained to run the route and rider has no visibility (he is headless of course
) and as far as I know, no control of the horse. It is very very important to keep the route clear when he goes by because of this. Even CMs have to be up on the sidewalk. I've heard about some children who have run into the street right before the horse went by. They were fortunate to not be in the direct path of the horse and CMs were able to get the kids back onto the sidewalk. Hearts were definitely pounding after that. I don't think the horse would stop if anyone is in the path.
