I have read the Headless Horseman rides the parade route for the Haloween parade about 15 minute before the parade.
And he only stops at one spot. At the bridge between Liberty Square and the Hub.
My question is which side does he stop on?
Lilberty Square side? Hub side?

And which why does he travel...from Liberty Square to the Hub?
or Hub to Liberty Square?

Thanks

The Halloween parade and the horseman go from Frontierland to the Hub. As for a stop, can't say I saw one the two times we have seen the parade.

He travels from Frontierland down to the hub and then down Main street.I honestly don't remember him stopping ,but I always watch from Frontierland.

We watched the parade right before the bridge, and no he never stopped before entering the hub area.

It's my understanding he fronts the parade. I don't know if he's 15 minutes ahead of it though. I'd think a lot of people would miss it if that's the case.

I've seen the parade the last 3 years and I've never noticed a stop. If the ground is wet, he'll ride much slower, for safety reasons. As others have said, it starts at Frontierland. It's usually a good bit in front of the parade, at least 10 minutes before the start.

The length of time between the Headless Horseman and the parade will increase the farther along the route he goes. In Frontierland the parade will follow sooner. But he goes much faster than the parade itself, so if you're watching on Main Street, the wait will be longer.

Wow, didn't realize the wait time gets that long between when the HH rides and the rest of the parade commences. I guess we were lucky when we saw it, we were right by Splash Mountain and watched the parade from the starting point.

I'll tell ya, that horseman was AMAZING!! The parade as a whole was a lot of fun and one of the best I've seen at Disney, but the horseman really made the whole thing that much better!

I know he rides from frontier land down main street, but i dont think its 15 min before. maybe 5 or 10, parade seems to come right after. It is pretty cool to see!! Cant wait!!

I have not seen the horseman stop, either. It really is an amazing site. The first time I went to the parade I couldn't understand why the CM's were so strict about keeping feet (and everything else) off the street and back from the curb. That horse came by so fast and so close to the sidewalk, really amazing!

We went on 11/1 last year and arrived on Main Street by the Ice Cream Parlor 15 minutes before the 2nd parade was due to start. We had already missed the horseman by then :sad1:

Thanks for the info.
As for the stop, I'm going by what I read on the "Official MNSSHP 2011 thread"

"The Headless Horseman rides the parade route BEFORE the Boo to you parade. Except him to ride about 15 minutes prior to the parade. The Headless Horseman only stops at one location during his ride and that is on the bridge coming from Liberty Square into the hub. If you want a good picture, this is the place to be."

Now for sharing, don't take my spot ;)

If you have a digital camera that allows you to take video and get photos frame by frame off of said video, do this... go frame by frame until you hit one that catches another guests flash going off. This is how I got such a good pic in 2009. I plan to sit on the other side of the street this year so that the lights from the Diamond Horseshoe don't interfere my filming this year.

If you are trying to photograph HH just be prepared, you will likely only get one shot at it and the party we were at last year didn't have the forwarning announcement like they usually do-the timing seemed to be off but he came when no one was really ready for him to be riding by

If you're on Main Street you get a warning. The last 2 time for us CMs came by multiple times telling people to get everything off the street. You can't have anything on the street when he comes by.

Like others have said:

HH and the parades start in Frontierland.
HH rides about 5 minutes from the start of the parade...
but if you are sitting along Main Street (toward the end of the parade route), then after you see the HH go by, you may still be waiting about 15 for the parade to finally get to you. HH goes by much faster than the parade does.
HH does NOT stop along the route but yes, the bridge is one of the best spots for a pic.

Enjoy!

So how fast does he go by?
We will be attending our first MNSSHP this year and want to try to get a good pic of HH.
