Serious, they broke up??? No way!!! That makes me sad... They were so cute together!!! And Taylor didn't mind having her picture taken while she was shaving her arm pits!!! (Spring Break trip last year, I think) That alone should have told Treyner that she was a keeper!!!

Well, here's hoping that they find their way back to each other in the future!!!

All of a sudden I hear Dan cracking up from the living room and I knew he found it!!! The funny part is he just told me to stay focused on organizing my office and when I called him on it..he said, "I couldn't help myself!!"

There is some big hurdles ahead for them to be together. Taylor is in beauty school through January, then has the opportunity to shadow and then take over a salon she has worked for before with a built in clientele. She also does not want to move form AZ and feels being away from her family would be too hard.

Treyner wants to own his own landscape design company with snow plowing in the winter. The idea of being out in the heat and humidity of an AZ summer is not appealing, plus there is the factor of lack of snow! Landscape design is more limited due to climate in AZ and he fears he would end up hating it. He is also leery of being dependent on Taylor's family if they stayed close. They are very wealthy and he does not want to assume they will pave the way for them if they married/stayed together.

He is a young man who wants to build his success on his own and Taylor has had the luxury of a life without having to really struggle for a lot. There is some major fundamental differences in those two thought processes and Taylor cannot tell him she would not turn to her family first if the going got tough, vs, trying to dig there way out of whatever they might be in first.

We had a long talk over Christmas with them both and I asked some questions of both of them that I think they had been ignoring or assuming and with wedding talk/marriage/engagement on the horizon, not agreeing on where to live, work priorities and family dynamics were huge red flags and as much I hate to see either of them hurting, it was good they discovered huge differences now, not ten years from now, hating their lives with two kids in tow. I had found a website that asked all these questions about where you should live based on what is important to you (dining, sports, college venues, arts/entertainment/leisure activity, type of schools etc.) and they were polar opposite in almost everything minus type of house. I had each of them do it on their own and then read aloud the questions and compare answers. Treyner was mountain living, warm summers, light winters and many states to choose from. Taylor's state was AZ or CA and she hates winter. Does not want to live in any cold or snow.

Ummmm...Houston, we might have a problem!

That was Dec. and she moved back to AZ mid Jan. They spent a week in March together and that has been it. A lot of time to reflect on the reality of the relationship and not so much the physicality of it.

Who knows. Maybe time apart will make them both want to compromise but the living situation is huge. Treyner can move from TN, MN, WA, VT, etc., for his career, we would support him and visit etc., no matter where he lives. Taylor only felt AZ was an option for now and her family would love her close by as well so I don't know if that will ever be a different circumstance. She is young at 18 and he is only 20 so a lot can change between now and when he graduates in three years.

I'm having a rough week. Last night, they killed off my fav character on my show and now today...I find out Treyner and Taylor broke up. It's like one bad soap opera!!

Seriously though, what a shame. I hope they are handling it well. Breakups suck even when they are amicable.

THAT was one SHORT skirt. My question is...what happens when she sits down? I mean, a skirt that length is pretty much a belt then, isn't it?

DD and I have had several discussions about clothing and modesty and she's got a pretty good handle on what is acceptable and what isn't...however, she's only seven so I'm hoping that information doesn't leak out her ear when she hit's 13!! A skirt that short on his baby girl would give DH a stroke.

We had a blast on Tom Sawyer Island in January but we completely forgot to look for paintbrushes. My kids had so much fun they kept asking why we'd never tried that particular attraction before...as if it was somehow MY fault we'd never done it before!

I've read other TR's with the stuffed animal lady in them...from what I remember the CM's claim she's sort of a permanent fixture at the GF. She's a local and this is the way she's chosen to spend her twilight years. Did you talk to her or just observe?

I'm looking forward to riding the train on our next trip without the cursed strollers. The train would be so much more enjoyable if I didn't have the handle of a collapsible stroller digging a hole in my kneecap. I have determined that our next Disney trip will be stroller free!!

We've already begun "training" the kids for long walks...we've started with 2 miles and we're going to build from there over the course of the summer. I refuse to bring the strollers next trip and I need to make sure the kids can cover the appropriate amount of ground on their own two feet.

Thanks for the pics of Splash Mountain. We had to give it a pass on our last trip...it's just too cold in January to walk around soaking wet...come to think of it...it may have been undergoing a refurb at that time anyway. I can't remember for sure but either way...we skipped it. But a good shot of Br'er Bear's hiney makes up for our loss!

I did home health care for people with Alzheimer's a long time ago, and my clients when lucid, would make me laugh more than anyone ever has, at their witty thoughts on their life.

Wow...I'm so sorry to hear about Treyner and Taylor. Hee hee, I can see it now: "I'm sorry Joe, it's not gonna work, Treyner's single now...." Except there is the always needed single period, and I am quite happy right now. But please give Treyner my regards. Breakups are never easy. I went through a lot of the same with my Taylor...we had dated 2 1/2 years, but when it got down to it, he didn't really want to move anywhere far away from his family, and in the hospitality field I knew that where I'd eventually end up was kind of up in the air. Course, I'm still hoping it's in good ol' Orlando!!!

Joe is really great. He takes pictures like you do. Most of the pictures we have when we go places are his doing. Of course, a month into it, there's no need to worry about engagement/marriage or any of that. We're just taking it one day at a time and seeing where it goes. A lot will depend on what job he lands for the summer and where he'll be. Not that I'm any stranger to distance (I don't say long because of course Taylor only lived 2 hours away...not half a country).

Every trip we take I am constantly amazed at the wardrobe choices of some females. My dad said he was in MouseGear one time and saw a girl pull the straps of her thong up so that they were showing over the waistband of her already showing it shorts. I will admit that on hot days here on campus I might walk out in something a little bit shorter than normal, but I was raised right and if I'm going to be in public, or a family atmosphere, and I make sure I'm covered. That and I'm just uncomfortable without knowing I have ample support...I know how those Florida thunderstorms can bring tons of water and tons of wind.

I'm sorry about Treyner and Taylor but you are right it is better to find out now than in a few years time. DS is in his first year at university and he told me Sunday in our weekly phone call that he had just broken up with his girlfriend, apparently it was a mutual decision but it is hard when I know he is now on his own and we won't see him again for a couple of months.

Guess what? Treyner and Taylor just broke up ....long distance with no moving for either of them in the distant future is just too hard right now...maybe later but for now, they are just friends.

Sounds like Treyer and Taylor are both very level headed for their age... And I'm sure having you for a Mom helps!!!

I got married at 20 and divorced at 22... Luckily no kids involved... But neither one of us were mature enough to get married, but no one sat down and talked with us about what married life is really like... Sure wish they would have...

After pulling our wet underwear/shorts from places it should never want to be, we squished through the hoards gathered at the exit to Splash Mountain and wormed our way towards Adventureland. Dan was hankerin for some Dole Whip but did not know he would get a side of smoke to go with it!

This has to be the dumbest area for a smoking section in all of WDW. The spot across from the Dole Whip stand in MK. If people hate the smell of smoke, are offended by smoke, simply do not want to risk their lives by second hand smoke or any other myriad of reasons smoking is limited to certain areas, why would Disney assume a food designated place by frozen delicacies would be ideal for smokers??

There is seating aplenty, with all these glorious trees, blooming for spring in concrete containers with benches all around. Perfect spot to sit except you may end up kissing a stranger through the smoke smog when you realize your husband got up to use the biffy and some random guy named Bert took his place.

The trees though were spectacular. I closed my eyes and pretended I was in Japan. Then opened them and instead of a cute lady in a Kimono, found a gypsy troupe of pirates, happy to try and expand the designated smoking boundaries without a permit from the city.

It is just impossible to enjoy anything when you are being overwhelmed by smoke. I know smokers have rights too, blah blah blah, shut up. Bottom line is this, smoking does mean your choice has an immediate consequence for my life when you light up. Want to chew? Go ahead and chew away, just spit your crud in appropriate places and I am golden.

Smoking though, leaves behind a trail of smell that you do not intend to impact others with but nonetheless, absolutely does. I would be talked to if I sat in one designated spot and sprayed some strong knock off perfume like Giorgio (brings back memories of 7th grade and a Wham tape!), non stop with 30 of my closest friends and the haze of stank left over, you would have to walk through. How happy would you be trying to explain to your wife that you were not out with a lady of the evening, no matter what you smell like, you simply were the victim of a spritz of stink.

It gets on your clothes, your hair, eyes, nostrils and even food. So do I care if you choose to smoke, no, it is your choice. But until they come up with some new technology that eliminates the second hand crap your choice makes me sit in, walk through and inhale, WDW needs to figure out where to put smoking areas that are more isolated or ban them totally.

I also think that WDW should do a B.O. test. If you happen to visit and did not shower or apply underarm help, then go back to the hotel in which you came from because I do not want to stand next to your buttcrack smellin pits while waitin to ride IASW.

If Stitch's chili cheese dog breath smells like flowers next to your under arms, I say, be gone!!

Literally, I went to blow my nose 20 minutes later with napkins Dan had picked up while getting his Dole Whip. The napkin reeked like smoke because it is not one person smoking, it is a herd and I smelled like I had just done a pup crawl in Dublin when I took a whiff of my purse, the napkin had been in.

There was construction going on at this time as well so most of the pathway back to Cinderella's castle was blockaded and we all were funneled past the smokers in even a tighter area then normal which had not helped anyone trying to get past quickly.

The castle looked subdued in the early evening light.

The flowers by Casey's were just amazing with a color pallet from any small town City Hall lawn, in the summer.

In fact, the CM playing tunes outside, had a receptive audience and I wondered why this type of entertainment works here, but in the real world, would be scoffed at if he had been playing outside an ice cream parlor in most downtown's. Personally, I would love it but I know many would complain of the noise or type of music vs. just enjoying the fact that music can actually come from a musician and not a recording on an I-pod!

We were really bushed at this point and wanted to relax a bit before we picked up Baylor so we headed back to the GF, drove to POFQ and found our room had been cleaned and made better with the help of a towel animal!

Again, the POFQ is so quaint and it is so easy to just head over to the dining area and get a re-fill that you tend to use those mugs more than you might at a bigger resort. I got a re-fil while Dan got a text from Baylor saying he was just landing in Chicago.

He was supposed to already have landed and departed so we knew his 10 p.m. arrival was a long ways off. Turns out he would not get in until midnight and so I went back to grab him some food because all the dining options would be closed when he arrived.

I was excited to have him join us and so I could not sleep but Dan did manage to catch a few Z's.

The ride to the airport was wet but we made good time as the roads were pretty deserted. Baylor called to let us know which door he was at and I have to say that at 15, he has traveled more than I ever did at that age and is not intimidated by airports, getting lost or just about anything. He would do well on Amazing Race! People ask if I get nervous with him traveling alone and that answer is no, minus changing planes. If he had to do that, I might get a bit apprehensive but strictly because he has a horrible time management issue and I fear he would wander off and miss his connecting! This trip, he id have one stop but did not need to change planes.

Baylor looked exhausted and as he munched on the pizza I bought him, he told Dana and I about this cop he sat next to on the plane who doled out a few big tales of life on the force. I think he may have taken some embellishments on his versions of life with a badge but Baylor was enjoying hearing the stories and his eyes widened telling us a second time around. Totally a boy thing and right up his alley.

We crashed almost immediately at the hotel. Baylor thought the refurbishments were nice but agreed the beds were lacking in comfort. He had thought he might want to try out the hot tub but all he ended up trying out was the pillow!

The next morning was our day at AK and we planned on making rope drop. I set the alarm at 2 a.m. and knew, rope drop was not happening. The forecast was for rain and I figured, sleep was more important than anything if we were going to be sloshing around in the most humid of parks. The call would wake us up at 8:00 a.m. and the only question would it be Mickey or Stitch on the other end?

Well I have to send a BIG thank you heavenward then...I had NO IDEA there was a smoking section that close to Aloha Isle. When it comes to cigarette smoke (because I am highly allergic perhaps) I have a BIONIC sense of smell and although I waited in line for ages in January for the golden goodness I didn't have that particular complaint to make.

Thanks for taking so many pictures of the trees and flowers! They're BEAUTIFUL!! I particularly liked those trees!

Wow, I've never noticed that the area is right in front of the Dole Whips. I thought the smoking areas were always tucked away some place that was out of sight. I wonder why this one isn't. Last minute planning?

I'm glad Baylor got to MCO alright. I made my first connecting flights on my last WDW trip without my parents and -I- was nervous, even though Andrew was there with me.

My mom's friend passed away recently from cancer as well. She had kids that were my siblings' ages.

We....woke up and showered and I promise this was the first moment I knew that there are perks to having one teen child along for the ride.

There were only three to get showered.

There were only three to get food for.

There were only three to try and find lost shoes in a hotel room the size of our living room even though we all swore we lined our shoes up the night before in the proper shoe place. .

There was no banging on the bathroom door, threatening evil things if one certain girl who shall remain nameless does not hurry up.

There was no trying to make your younger brother into a human pretzel simply because you can.

There was no annoying sounds emanating from a 20 year old who thinks it is seriously funny to drag my name out for three minutes to try and stay in bed longer, even though from his bellering, it is perfectly clear he is, indeed...AWAKE!!! Meanwhile I still can hear the nightmares fresh in my noodle of...."Maaaaaahhhhhhhmmmmm........we are on vacatshhhhhhoooooooonnnnnnnnnnn...why do we have to get up so earllllllllllllllyyyyyyyeeeeeeee????????"

Nope it was just me, who picked up the phone and hung it up as soon as I heard Stitch's voice, crawled out of bed, realized there were no dogs to let out, no breakfast to make, no laundry to switch and just could meander to the bathroom, get a nice shower and be dressed before I woke up Dan to jump in while I applied the face.

Baylor is my kid who goes to bed when he is tired and gets up when he knows something is going on for the day, unless he is exhausted. He is looking forward to being the only kid at home next year just because he will not have to wait on Carsyn to be ready to get to school. He is up, showered and having breakfast while she is just jumping in, every single morning.

The three of us knew that this day would be cool out and rainy compared to the rest of the week but better than 110 degrees in the shade with AK smelling like a hippo's hinney!

We stopped by the food court to grab some grub and split an order of beignets and biscuits and gravy. Then, we jumped in the car and took off for AK, wishing we had known were the heck our poncho's were from 2008 still!! (When I find the darn bin I put them in I am gonna scream!)

We had rented from the library a book called, The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World by Susan Veness. There are a few small details that were wrong due to ever changing Disney details but overall I liked the book. There were some things I knew before, had forgotten and were glad to be reminded of. Some new things I adored and I just like knowing intricate details of why things were done how they were done. We tried to cram in some fast facts before we went to AK and also read some throughout the day when we took a break. Baylor really enjoyed looking for things we read about. I think it helped him appreciate the park with a new perspective.

Our first stop was It's Tough to be a Bug and we had nobody jamming us from behind, so we slowed down and really noticed some animals we had never seen, or closely appreciated before.

(Right above the lion, there is a Mustang. His head straight on and you are looking under his head so can see the narrow of his face and nostrils. His front hooves are prancing at the camera.)

The show was as good as always and I hate getting poked by the darn bugs even when I know it is coming! I also scream my head off when those darn arachnids drop from the ceiling!! The park was empty at that point so we were able to sit middle of the row and nobody cared!

We had enough time to get right into a bird show as it was starting and I had not been to one in a few years. Again, it was good, made you laugh and appreciate nature as well as duck when the winged wonders flew within inches of your bean!

The guy reminds me of Dom DeLuise so much and his tour guide character makes fun of the people with those stupid flags so I love him!!

I saw the red eyes and heard the popular, scare the BeetleJuice out of you, notes from The Omen!

We had time when it was over to ride Everest and Baylor and I teamed up which left Dan solo!

The book we read was really insightful about this part of AK. When you go head from one part to another, the mode of transportation will develop in front of your feet. From bike tracks to foot prints, where you are is told in stories I never noticed before. We had learned the significance in the ceremonial flags flying at the base of Everest and that the amount of logs on a roof, shows the wealth of the family living under it. I wish we had read more of it and need to just buy the darn thing!

The yetti was AWOl on our trip and so we missed that piece to the ride but I still say the backwards portion makes me just as fearful as the beast!

Next, we hit Y&Y for some lunch and a dry respite for an hour!

We finished up our food and took the BEST SAFARI RIDE EVER!!!!

So worth the rain and cruddy conditions to be able to enjoy all the animals up close. I never have seen a ride like this one was!

Literally had to stop cause ya know, we have a rhino within 6 inches of the Jeep!!!

How many Mama and baby butt pics can I get?

When we were done we walked the trail and saw some cute things!

Okay well at least one cute thing!!!
