About a year ago Disney held a search for moms to be panelist for a new forum they were creating. You had to write about your experiences as a Disney "mom". Everyone who submitted and application but were not chosen have continued to receive emails and received a package in the mail with a mouse pad, magnet, tinker bell pins, and a 2008 planning video as well as some literature and a coupon for photo pass. They have called the club the Mickey Moms club. It's cute stuff and fun to get something after not being chosen to be a panelist! :rotfl:

Check out www.disneyworldmoms.com this is what we all applied for!

I think I remember this but didn't apply 'cause I thought its another way to get to my email and info...Darn it:guilty:

I think that moms panel is lame. I am sorry but any of you could give out just as good advice probably even better.
I have even seen stuff on there and been theres a better to do things.

Thats cool about the gift though.

We just gave DS now 9 WOOHOO his big bday gift a brand new PSP with some games and a movie and he freaked. I love that look on a kids face when they really get something they want.

I love the wedding planner to
I am not a huge JLo person but thats cute and How to lose a guy in 10 days is so funny.

I agree! The problem with it, is it is censored by Disney. There is so much off Disney property that would allow a trip to Disney possible for a younger family that struggles.

Good Morning!!

I got my Disney Mom's panel package too!! Although my DD took it and its gone. Pins are on her landyard and mousepad is on her desk, stickers have been turned into postcards for Year of a million Dreams contest!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

OK!! Dentist done last week, Mammo done Friday and Gyno done yesterday. I am ready for WDW. My kids just have the eye doctor next month!!!

I am ready The Summons, my brother gave it to me, its actually alot better then I thought and its hardcover so the print in large. I am getting old!!!

I can book my cabanas next week, I am always so nervous that I am not going to get them. They are so necessary for a successful trip for us. I think I can call Thursday next week!!:woohoo:

My kids have off Thursday and Friday this week for the Pope!! I was thinking about surprising them and picking up my DH at work and taking them to World of Disney and ESPN Zone in the city. We're supposed to have 75 degree weather Friday!!

Good morning GF girls!

That was nice Disney sent the parting gifts, haha.....I am mad because I did enter that silly thing and I didn't update my "profile"...so it didn't have anything about any of our WDW trips in the pst several years....I know you had to have been in the past year or so. Their site is so screwy it wouldn't let me get into it, update it, gave me errors so I ditched and hoped. Oh well....I agree, we are better than any dumb censored panel.:rotfl: :rotfl: maybe sour grapes, huh?

Annette, good for you for getting that all taken care of. :thumbsup2 I am such a procrastinator...my gyno retired and he's the one that I've seen for the past 18 yrs and delivered my 3 babies and now I am left with nada. I don't like having to find a new one!!! :headache: I am crossing my fingers for you on the cabanas. Until it started circulating on the internet here, I don't think anybody really even knew about them. We should have kept it a secret haha.

Kelly, happy bday to your big guy. It's amazing how fast the years go. That is cool he was thrilled with his gifts. I love that too. We go a bit nuts on bdays and Xmas just so I can get that reaction out of them.:goodvibes

Mandy,
thanks for all the MK visit details. I :lovestruc reading that stuff...I love the crack jokes.:rotfl: :rotfl:

PS...Kelly, I was looking on the web re July....since all that Disney stuff came to my house yesterday it did kind of put my in the mood.:wizard:

Bachelor anyone? Kind of lame this time around IMO. I like that Shayne, though. She's about it. She's cute and not crazy. I don't think he is attactive at all though. Almost kind of dorky. Even the accent doesn't make up for it.

:goodvibes

Good Morning!!

I feel SO-O-O-O much better today!!! Amzing what some sleep and pepto will do for a girl!! :rotfl:

I stayed up to watch the Bachelor last night. I am SO glad he ditched Robin. I can't believe she was only 22 (she looked at least 32!!!) I love Shayne and predict he will pick her. As my good friend says, she has that "it" factor. Can't explain it, but you see it in the way she carries herself, the way she dresses (Channin- she may be a candidate for the Muffy Club!!!:rotfl: ) I like Noelle too, but she isn't self confident enough (ditto for Amanda) and I don't care for Chelsea at all.

Wishes Good luck on the cabanas! :thumbsup2 I didn't have any problem getting mine last August and no one rented the one next to us at all. It is funny how once thngs get posted on the Dis they get CRAZY!! My CM booking my ADR's told me that Coral Reef is getting tougher than Le Cellier and I am sure that is due to the diver with the sign/personalized menu. We did last year for our anniversary, but I think the food at Le Cellier is 10 times better (JMHO)

We are now at 29 days and counting till the big bday trip!!! I can't wait. Even DH said last night "I am so excited to go back! I can't believe you didn't want to go...." :rotfl: (Of course I smacked him with a pillow!!)

Speaking of pillows, I love to make custom shirts/pillowcases to bring on the trip. I am working on a bday design for DS right now. I am SERIOUSLY thinking of stealing Mandy's Captain Jack pillowcase idea (but for MY Pillow!! pirate: ). I still haven't even started any of my character breakfast invites, goodnight notes etc. and usually I have them done by now (OOPS!!! :headache: ) I also have to get DS's message in a bottle bday invites for his Sponge Bob party done by mother's day so I can hand them out to the family rather than worrying about mailing them... I need to stop being so chatty over here and get a move on!!

Have a Great Day!
Kristin

OMG love him in that movie...what about "Wedding Planner"?

I finally saw it not too long ago - cute movie. I don't care for Jennifer Lopez but who cares- as long as Matthew is in it !

And those black and white Stetson ads he's been in!!:lovestruc :faint:

Hope he has a great birthday!:)

Kristin, LOL!! SHayne IS Muffy!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: I haven't seen her "tangle" a sweater yet, but if she can do it - SHE's IN!:thumbsup2 :rotfl: I hope he picks her, too. Wasn't her dad one of the judges on that other stupid trashy show (OK I admit I am a trash TV junkie) "Do You Think You're Sexy?":rotfl: I am almost positive he was and he was sooo rude and such a pig!:rotfl: :rotfl: Can't wait for that home visit!:thumbsup2 Chelsea seems evil. That raggy one Robin, too - you're so right she looked OLD. I bet she lied about her age.;) 22 my foot.:rolleyes1 NO way. Glad you're feeling better!!!! I am going to PB to HOPE that they have those lamps in and they're still on sale. I am such a dork....I hope I am remembering them the right way, but I think they will be great in my family room.

I was just this morning reading about that diver thing at Coral Reef!! I never KNEW it was FREE!!! Oh ya, that's gonna be impossible to get now and I am sure you're right the CR bookings are going to go thru the roof. It is crazy what the internet will do and how it distorts things.

I was reading that stupid turndown service thread....thinking OK, this innocent person asked about it.... HOw did it get to be 3 pages long? :confused3 Well, of course some rude value person comes along and says SHE CAN PICK UP AFTER HERSELF...she would feel awful having some poor maid that only makes $6/hr do it.:rotfl: :rotfl: OMG...I laughed my butt off I LOVE TURNDOWN SERVICE!!!....so here I am cleaning up & picking after my three little pigs, not making a dime and NO tips. People are so weird. Moms are unpaid maids. Hello?!:rotfl: When I am on vacation I love turndown...and I think we pay for it and we always tip well.

OK...gonna run and finish my MAIDWORK..oh sorry - housework and go shopping.

Have a great day!
Channing :)

Channing, you are SO funny :rotfl:

I was just reading the turn down service thread too and thought what is wrong with some of these people?? I was working my way through the GF thread and was so excited when I saw a picture of the turn down service. I even excitedly told my husband and he said awesome! I guess people need something to gripe about. BTW, the pictures of your girls are too sweet! How cute! Take care. :flower3:

Oooh, wait a minute, I too watched the Bachelor last night! I agree, Robin should've gone home. Did you see the look on her face when he didn't choose her? Wow, if looks could kill.... I'm a fan of Shayne too!

Alright, now I have to check out this thread!!!

Shayne may not tangle a sweater, but she sure can tangle a scarf (winter's version of the sweater I guess! :rotfl: )

Good luck with those lamps!!!

The Batchelor...I'm with you girls about Robin. Could not stand her. And she's a very old looking 22...:lmao:
He does seem to be leaning towards Shayne, doesn't he? Thing is, if it's just because she has show-business parents (or parent...I know her dad is Lorenzo Lamas; and her granddad is/was a star as well), she won't like that. Remember when she asked him one time what did it matter who her parents were?
Oh another topic..one of my cousins just returned from Disney cruise and she has me thinking about it for next yr! I've always said I didn't want to cruise, but hey, it's Disney, right?!?

grannyminnie - did she have a good time? I want to do a Disney cruise also. Everyone that we know that has gone on one, really enjoys it and can't wait to do another one. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Is everyone ready for the Biggest Loser finale tonight? Go Ali!! :thumbsup2

Grannyminnie you crack me up!!! Dh always gets on my case about talking about "the next trip" before we take the current one!! You are already talking and you leave in 2 days (not to mention the December trip!!!) Great Minds Think Alike!!!

If you don't make it back, have a super duper wonderful time:wizard:
(and remember to post back all the important bounceback details for me :rotfl: )

Channing :)

I have been a maid all day!! I guess I am such a terrible person that I would ask for turn down service if I paid $400 plus dollars a night and the resort offered it. I should be ashamed of myself. What are wrong with some people? I agree with you....I am a maid all year long...why would I want to be one on vacation. I absolutely loved the turn down service on our cruise and tipped very well when it was over.

Gotta go...a mother's work is never done...except on vacation and that is the way it should be! My rant for the day. Hope you ladies are enjoying your day!:) Vanessa

Ok ladies, I have to do somthing to stave off the boredom of waiting. Our trip is 4 months away and I am ready to start packing now...I want it to be TIME TO GO!!

So...I'll share the long version of my plans...the way I talk there is never a short version anyway!

The crew for this trip is:
Me, obsessive planner extraordinare.
Hubby, keeper of the gold card.
Brat child, 15 and full of attitude (secretly excited to go.)
Disaster child, 14 and all about the food and high functioning autistic.
Lovey, the sweetest 8yo son ever made.
Monster baby, almost 3 and almost evil (but she looks cute in pig tails..none of the boys would let me put them in pig tails )

So....
Drop off the Excursion with a friend so we skip long term parking (big truck, small spaces...big scratches!)
JetBlue Portland,ME to MCO (why pay more when I can pay less?)
Limo to GF (why take a free bus when I could pay for a limo?)
GV room at the GF (why pay for conceirge?...we won't use it enough.)
Order a custom GF b-day cake for the 3rd b-day girl (What's $100 for a cake...right???)

You may already be noticing some inconsistencies to the spending habits in this family. You see, hubby makes the money and I like to spend it. BUT...hubby likes constant luxury and I like a good deal. So. GF on a 40% code and cheaper plane tix but on non-stop flights make everyone happy. The rest of the spending is me, he is not a spender, but he lets me go, and I love him for that. :lovestruc He is happier to not know the price and just to have what he wants...no problem, I am so willing to help with that.

We all seem to like food and Meals planned are:
Liberty Tree Tavern, Kona Cafe, Teppan Edo, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Marrakesh and Chef Mickey for the whole family.
1900 Park Faire without the teen boys (there is only so much PRINCESS they can take!)
Narcossee's without any kids...hubby does not know the kids are not going. I am using Kids Nite Out. That will be a nice surprise for him.
I am taking the little one to Cinderellas Royal Table for breakfast one morning. Mostly because I have always wanted to eat in the castle, and what the Queen wants the Queen gets. :lmao: (OK, I really had 2 TS credits left on the plan and this seemed like a good way to use them...but it sounded better the other way.)

While the Princess and the Queen eat in the castle the boys have plans too. The younger prince is off on a Pirate Cruise. Not to be left out, the older boys and King Tightwad will be renting a boat. I will have to twist his arm on this (because I will not be there to hide the price board from him) but with the boys pushing and me pulling he WILL get to the marina and get them out on a boat.

Then I decided to get selfish! I am going to Epcot early one morning to take the Segway around the world tour. I can have a spa day near home but segway is just not happening in Maine. My boys are green with envy but too young to go. If I could lie for the older one I really would but I am afraid they would ask for ID. He will be 15 and 3 weeks...not quite 16...in fact, not anywhere near 16 at all. Oh well, I will take lots of pictures to torment him with later.

I am trying to fit a long pool afternoon into the schedule so we can rent a cabana...because it would be fun. But I think I have jammed every day full to the point of having to skip a princess nap if we get a cabana...and one thing we NEVER do is skip a nap with the princess (she turns into an evil princess without the nap! Puts Aurora's dear step-mother to shame!)

I am still looking for more things to stuff into the plans, I don't stop looking until we get there and then I forget most of the plan and just enjoy the ride (literally.)

OK, this has gotten long enough to be it's own pre-trip report....Have a beautiful day and since Cinderella has moved out with the prince I now have to go clean my own house.

:flower3: Sheli

Sheli -- it sounds wonderful!

I agree!

I know I was shocked when she said that's all they ate! I told her that we should just tell him one of us is sick and we can't go. She said that would not be nice.... I just don't get it, why would you hype up a place to a girl and tell her to dress up and then only spend $30?

I agree! But as I said earlier she is going to put us through his incesant talking!

Exactly! I told her that it's only going to get worse! We were raised way to well for a cheap-o!

Thanks, I am down 4 pounds now!

Congrats on Dsister getting rid of the cheapo loser and congrats on 4 pounds -- that is awesome!

Ladies, I think we all agree she needs to dump him and run away fast!

I do have to brag on my sister so indulge me! She is a victims advocate for our Sheriff's dept. She works with anyone who is a victim of a crime or family of victims. For instance she will work with a rape victim from the time she gets called to the scene of the crime, go with her to the hospital, and all the way through supporting her at the trial. A few months ago she was nominated by her boss for a state wide victims advocate recognition in the state of FLA. She was chosen as one of three advocate that would be voted on by her piers and a panel of lawmakers and the office of the attorney general FLA. Well, She was voted the number one advocate in FLA! We are leaving Tuesday to go to the state capitol where she is going to be honored at a ceremony at the capitol by our governor! Big sister is so proud her baby girl and thought I would share since you have all chimed in and shown so much interest in her love life.

Have a good rest of the weekend and if we do get to meet prince cheap-o I will let you all know how if goes :rotfl2:

Wow -- that is fabulous. I hope this incident withe the loser doesn't put her off men indefinitely again. She is obviously serious about her career and is doing a great job on that end.

Good morning GF girls!

:goodvibes

It's kind of funny. At first, it looked like Shayne was going to be a prima donna and a total baby, but she's really grown on me. I do like her now and can't wait for the home visit! I have to say, though, that I'm not liking this final four as much as I've liked some in the past. I never thought I would say it, but I might be growing bored with the Bachelor...

Good Morning!!

Congrats on less than a month until your trip.

We love the disney cruise's -- you must venture over to the other side but I warn you... you'll then be trying to juggle the cruise's and WDW visits! :rotfl:

Kristin -- I've just gotten over a tummy thing as well. My lovely DS9 gave it to me as a gift for taking care of him while he was sick on Sunday. Every few minutes he would say, "But I'm sick, why can't I do/have XYZ..." Funny how that didn't work for me yesterday!

I do exactly the same thing!!! My family thinks I am crazy!!!:scared1:

I love it!!
