Hi everyone. The weather has been so beautiful here I've been outside walking the past few days. Monday I walked from 68th Street to 11th Street for pastries for DH (I know I do exercise to a bakery!:goodvibes ) from there walked to 14th Street cross to 5th Avenue to the Disney Store :) Then walked home. Then walked from 68th Street to 87th Street to get DS4 from school and walk back down to 68th St. My legs were throbbing! I had to soak in a hot tub that night! Yesterday walked the mall in NJ, needed shoes for my trip :) Today walked from 68th St to 93rd St to WW (lost 2lbs ! yeah!:cool1: ) then walked from 93rd St to 56 St Disney Store (had an exchange) then walked home to 68th St. I'm actually tired now:rotfl:

DS4 has his second class trip today. They're going to the Swedish Marionette Theater in Central Park to watch "Pippi Longstocking" then having a picnic lunch in Central Park. It's a gorgeous day for it! I hope he has fun. It's his first trip on a school bus, he's so excited!

So at the Disney Store I picked up DS4 and DS1 Disney Crocs. I never thought I'd buy plastic shoes! These things are ugly! But DS4 really wanted a pair. They run really really big. He's a size 12 and the 12/13 were enormous on him. I had to exchange them for a 10/11. My little guy barely fits in the 4/5 size. He was dancing around in his crocs last night. I guess they are comfortable if a 14 month old can notice :rotfl:

I just got the Unofficial Guide to WDW for kids out of the library and I have to say this is the worst guide book I've ever read. I couldn't believe they tell you to purchase shoe lifts for your child if they don't meet the high requirements! Can you imagine! I'm going to go get the original Unofficial Guide for WDW, hopefully it's better than this cliff notes version. I'm also geting the Disney Land version. I need to pick a resort already and book it.

Hey I was reading Praline's trip report and she said Narcoossee's will deliver to your room. She had surf and turf in her pjs on the balcony - now that's the kinda dinner I'd enjoy!!:thumbsup2 We have a ADR for dinner there too, so I'm hoping it's good, I'm really looking forward to dining there.

I have to read and catch up with what's going on here.

Won't be around tomorrow, DS4 is off from school since the Pope is hosting a mass at the adjorning church - how cool! It's only for local priests, school children and parish members were not invited! The secret service has been at the school and church for a month now. The streets been closed off to traffic, it's been a little crazy. DS4 is just happy to have off tomorrow and Friday.

I'm taking the kids to the Bronx Zoo tomorrow it's going 70 degrees out and I want to be away from the city when the Pope drives around in his Popemobile! :rotfl2: I can only imagine the traffic!!

Have a great day everyone!
Mare

Hi all!!
My tummy is acting up again  so I need to forgo my Atkins for a few days (which totally bums me since I have been doing so well) I think it is just to harsh on my poor little system right now :sad2:

DS had his first soccer game last night. It was so cold with that wind!!! They were the cutest playing. His team won 4-0 (but we aren't supposed to keep score at this level;) )

GrannyMinnie- have a wonderful time!!!

Best of luck to everyone back on their diets!! Summer is coming and that is always great motivation for me!!

I am glad Ali won last night but Kelli looked heartbroken at her number. And poor Mark! First he misses out on being in the finals, then he loses to Bernie by 1 pound!!! I am surprised he didn't "cry" :rotfl2:

Take Care!
Kristin

OMG....I am so bummed.:guilty: OK.... so the beginning of March I weighed myself - you know right before our vacation. I didn't step on the scale until TODAY....I am UP 6.5 lbs. I cannot believe it. :scared: I have been GOOD (seriously counting points the past 2 days;) ) but pretty good up til then because I have been preparing myself to get on the scale (haha - pretty sad it takes preparation)....So, today is IT I am done messing around. I am going to drop 2 lbs by next Wed. I know how to do it I need to get on it. This gain means I am up 25lbs from my good weight loss before I turned 40.:headache: I am sick about it. I don't know what happened and it all snuck back on me. The worst thing is my parents come next weekend......believe me they are pissy & snarky & have no problem hurting anybody's feelings - and it's TRUE so I don't care if some nasty Chicago777 comes on and says "Do your parents read this?" yada yada..... :rotfl: I know my mom will comment on it and that will send me over the edge. My parents are healthy freaks. Golfing daily, walking 3 hrs daily, working out with weights......:cool2: they are retired and have nothing better to do!:rotfl: They make me so self conscious. :sad2:

Ugh................

:guilty:

Channing -- my weight can very 2 - 3 pounds from day to day, so don't beat yourself up so. Tomorrow could bring a big change. It sounds like you've jumped back on the WW. Get on that treadmill and take out some of your stress. You'll feel better and get a good start to feeling better about yourself and living healthier.

(all that said from a woman who had her WW jump-started by the stomach virus a few days ago... Gotta love that saying from Devil Wears Prada-- just one stomach flu away from my goal weight. :rotfl: Of course, in my case, I had lost four of the pounds I gained since January, but the stomach thing helped with a couple more. Now I need two or so more to get where I was last year.)

I hope you feel better! Congrats to DS on his soccer win. And of course we keep score! ;) Even in instructional divisions the kids still keep up with it!

Sorry about your tummy:guilty:

Wasn't that ridiculous last night with the wind?????? I left by the 3rd inning at my sons baseball game.

oh I hate that feeling.:guilty: I am there with ya. when i was so good on WW i was worry free. weight was a nonissue. i had total control of myself and the weight was coming off fairly easily. I want that back! I just walked w/my neighbor. I am so stiff and achy though it's weird. My shoe came untied and i cuold hardly bend to tie it. That's how I felt in WDW, too - so stiff and it hurt to bend my joints. I wonder what is up with that? :confused3 It feels nasty. I am committing myself to losing this weight. I felt so much better inside and out without it. It just snuck up on me!!!:sad2:This is not ME. I am trying to drink tons of water today too...i am worried my lack of that is making me stiff? :confused3 I need to Google that.:rotfl:

Ya, this weather was just AWFUL. That didn't help, but I have a really nice treadmill......

Now I am seriously thinking about WDW over July 4 so that is my new motivation to drop the 25lbs. I need to make a bargain with DH.;) He might go for that deal.:)

Thanks for the cheer ups. I am trying not to let it bring me too down today but that it was such a nasty surprise! :upsidedow I thought I'd be the same as before my trip or a bit down.:headache:

Don't feel bad - I gained back almost 5 pounds of the 8 I lost in 1 week at Vero!:scared1:
I've managed to get 4 back off in about a week and a half but now I've been at the same weight for the past 10 days!I've been following WW and working out religiously - so what's up with the plateauing? So depressing!
You'll get back in the swing in no time! I usually start feeling better about a week after restarting WW and exercising better. Just knowing that you're getting started really helps!

My new mantra is "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!"

I have to repeat it to myself over and over, especially as I watch my kids scarf down Ben and Jerry's after school!:lmao:

Oooo yeah, Channing! Let me win something BIG...
I feel lucky! Heck, I AM lucky; I'm leaving for my happy place in less than 24 hours!!! Just wish I had more time there, but my sis couldn't get but one and half days off.
Watching the Travel channel right now, about the building of the Queen Mary 2, which reminds me of a Disney ship, which reminds me of a cruise, which....uh oh, better stop now!!!! hahahahaha Gotta go back to my chores. Well, AFTER I find that turndown thread...:lmao:
WishesQueen, I'm really looking forward to Narcoosee's. I'll "take notes" for ya!

Have a great trip!:)

I just checked - the turndown thread is still open but is on the second page right now!

It's back to number one!:rotfl: :rotfl:

You are so right.....nothing does taste as good as being thin feels. I remember how that feels......I am getting it back!

Thanks guys for the diet support. I am going to get this back on track. I am in the mood and I am looking forward to maybe a WDW July trip and I want to go being thinner and tan and happy.:)

Sorry to the sickies!!! Bummer!!! Stomach bugs are the worst.:guilty: Feel better soon!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: OMG.....I read this and thought - GOSH, what do people say about us freaks with our silly Mexican doll baby?:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It's on the resort board and will probably get closed soon.............:rotfl:

Towel Baby People and Teddy bear Lady at GF
Hello,
This is a wierd question, but has anyone ever seen the couple at the GF who carry around a towel and think it is their baby. They usually eat at 1900 Park Fare and we have seen them on 3 different trips. The waitress told us all about them. They are very wealthy and stay at the GF all the time. They bring this towel with them everywhere, and it has a baby hat on it. The woman makes the chef bring out food for the "baby" and she pretends to feed it, and then hides the food and pretends the baby ate it. The staff caters to them b/c they literally stay at the hotel for a month at a time. We don't know if both the man and the woman think it's a baby, or if the husband just goes along with it.
Also, there is a woman at the GF who brings tons of teddy bears with her, and sets them all up around her in the lobby. The staff said she comes every day, but doesn't stay there. Let me know if anyone else has seen them

I had a snitty reply to all the drama on the resort board all typed out but I don't want to get us shut down too...so I'll paraphrase in a nice way.

Towel baby..closed (9 minutes flat.) :rotfl:

Tangled sweaters are on the way to dry cleaner, not to be worn. :confused3 Will I feel out of place this summer without one?? LOL

Turndown :thumbsup2
Deluxe service:cool1:

Being able to stay at GF...priceless Somehow, I just don't think my kids will become serial killers because they know that some hotels even provide robes. (Geez, no one has mentioned the robes yet...that could start WW3.)

The things people find to gripe about cracks me up! :dance3:

do you think this is an urban legend??? Just like the lady that sat in the chair of the GF lobby??

OMG Good One!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I never thought that the turn down thread would go so long! :rotfl: I can't wait till the GF to have it. :thumbsup2 We just got back from a trip in Ft. Lauderdale and had nightly turn down, it is so wonderful to come back to the room and have fresh towels, bed turned down with delicious chocolates. It gets you in a relaxed mood.:goodvibes

tangled sweaters....:rotfl: You won't feel out of place at all! If you do, just wad up your Disney sweatshirt and throw it on.:thumbsup2 I tangle mine over my hips and butt.:rotfl2:

turndown- I totally agree - SO WORTH staying deluxe for!!:goodvibes Why would people find anything to fuss over???:confused3

Deluxe - TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!:goodvibes :thumbsup2

The Dis makes for some good laughs that's for sure.

lobby??

I did see the lady with her bag full of stuffed animals one time. She was alone with them -just sitting in the lobby looking at her lap. I have no clue what she's doing there. I don't think there was music while she was there, either....some people thought she came to listen to the piano & band. :confused3 I have never seen the towel baby people.:rotfl:

:)

I am finally all caught up!!

I have checked out the other GF Thread and I keep deleing what I want to say..........so I'll leave you with this:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I also checked out the turndown thread, now on page 5!! I don't get it!!!:confused3 :confused3

Crazy people!!!!

One question, we had turn down service (and loved it:rotfl: ) I don't remember requesting it. Do we automatically get it at the GF or did I request it and not remember????

I never saw a towel baby or a teddy bear lady, but we're from NY and we kind of seen everything. Although it would really be weird to see it in WDW!!!

Channing - everybody wants to lose weigh and nobody is happy with their weight, not even those really skinny girls!!! Exercise as much as you can without spreading yourself too thin, eat as best you can with smaller portions then usual and you'll see a difference. As soon as you lose a little you'll get more motivated!! The weather is definitely a factor, bad weather doesn't help.

One thing that helps me, I drink my 8 glasses of water a day but when I am hungry I have a glass of seltzer with lemon sometimes if I have cranberry juice I throw a splash of that in there. Yummy and it fills me up (a little)!!

Good luck, I have 4 pounds I'd love to lose, but I really think they like me and they don't want to leave!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

goofygal my kids have off Thursday and Friday too! I thought that the Pope will be in NYC Friday. I wanted to run into the city Thursday with the kids, I figured we would finally see World of Disney and grab something to eat since the weather is going to be beautiful!!! If you have any info that I should stay home let me know!!! Thanks:)

Watch the 11pm news to check his itinerary. Last I heard he was arriving in NYC Thursday and having a parade down Fifth Avenue in his Popemobile. So I would avoid World of Disney, which is smack in the middle of the parade route. He's staying at the UN, hotels don't have enough security for him. So I imagine they'll block off the usual frozen zone they do when they have the world leaders summit. Traffic nightmare!

Funny thing, when I was at the World of Disney this morning, I noticed so many Italian speaking tourist! All in the city for the pope!!

DS4's school advised us if we want to see his holyness arrive Friday for mass be at the church no later than 3pm, the private mass will be at 6pm. I have no intention of being a pope groupie and trying to battle the crowds for a glimse of him. I'll be at the outlet center in Woodbury Commons!:rotfl: Hopefully I won't have a problem getting back into the city!

Thanks I am going to check out his itinery on the websites that our school gave us!! We'll have to make it another day!!! I would love to see him, but I hate traffic and crowds.

Our school gave the kids the two days off, but they have to do reports on the Pope while their home!!! Never just a day off!!!!:teacher:

What mall in Jersey do you go to?

What mall in Jersey do you go to?

Garden State Plaza in Paramus is 20 minutes away - no traffic. I also just discovered the Paramus Park mall on Route 17 that has a Disney Store in it :goodvibes I do grocery shopping at the Shoprite on Route 4, a lot of my city friends with cars hit that Shoprite. It's the closest supermarket to the city. Love their can can sales! :rotfl:

Next Thursday I'm going to the Palisades Center in Nyack with a friend and her kids. It's the third or fourth largest mall in america. It's huge! My kids love the carousel and ferris wheel and I love that there's a Target in the mall. Little things like that make me so happy :)

I've been to those malls, but they are really far from me. I usually go to Menlow or Short Hills! :goodvibes

Good evening ladies!

Grannieminnie Have a GREAT trip! So happy for you! I hope you love Narcossee's as much as I do! I have dreamed about their cheese cake!

Just got home from our quick trip to the capitol (of FLA) for my sisters awards ceremony and I am beat! It took us 7 hours to get there and we pretty much dumped our stuff in the room and went to dinner then back to the room for Biggest Looser (YEA Ali!) and went to bed. We went to the ceremony this morning and then jumped in the car for 7 more hours.... My kids are so hyped up from being in a car so much! :crazy2: I need a drink and they need some benydryl:rotfl: I have had to visit so many rest stop the last 2 days that my germ-a-phobe issues caused me to have a slight panic attack :scared: DH is on a plane as I type, thank GOD!

Off to catch up! Have a great night!

MAndy
