Afternoon Gals :wave2:

Boy it's been a busy weekend from getting up at 4:30 am (YES...4:30 a.m. :crazy2:) on Friday to make sure I got ready for school on time along with getting DSs and DH up and out the door to school and work.......to running around crazy last night and today :faint:. Hopefully they won't call me tomorrow morning to sub as I could use the day off :rotfl:.

Maxie.......Keep that spring countdown going :thumbsup2. Today felt like spring with the high near 60 and everything melting ::yes::. I think the forecast here is rain late tomorrow night, Tuesday, and Wednesday :scratchin.......but I'll take the rain if we could have some 50-60 degree weather :goodvibes.

Annette......Not sure if you're looking for buffets or not....but we love Cape May at the BC :) (and characters are only there at breakfast). We were hesitant to try it for a few years as the title "Clam Bake" scared us away (we're not seafood eaters :sad2:).....but it has ALOT more than the mussels, clams, and other seafood. It has a great variety of food that I'm sure your DD would find something she likes :thumbsup2. And trust me......been there done that (and STILL doing that :rotfl:) with a picky eater :headache:. My oldest will be 16 in June and he's STILL picky about what he eats......drives me and DH nuts but what are ya gonna do :confused3. He never has trouble at Disney finding something he likes and he does like Cape May :goodvibes. Another one we really like (but also a buffet) is Boma at AKL ;). That is another buffet that has alot of variety where it's hard to NOT find something for a picky eater.

Angel........I did cleaning yesterday :faint:. If it's not cleaning I'm doing, it's laundry......it's all a never ending cycle :sad2:.

GF Gals.......Hope you all had a GREAT weekend :cool1:. Can't wait to hear all about it and see lots of pics :thumbsup2. SO.....when's the next one.....I have to start planning, ya know :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm going to go make DH some chocolate cupcakes.....catch up with you all later :flower3:.

Deb :)

Annette, what about Tokyo Dining? It's in the same place as Teppan Edo, just on the other side. They serve Sushi there, but also have most if not all of the hibachi food on their menu, though they don't cook it in front of you, it is a regular TS type of meal. DH loves sushi and he really liked this place a lot.

ETA: They may also serve the sushi on the hibachi side. We have never eaten at Teppen Edo (DH hates hibachi) so I don't know!

Drive by post :car:

We had a long weekend with DS5 bday party yesterday and Mary Poppin today, I'm beat! The show was fabulous!

Annette: How about The Wave. It's been getting great reviews. The menu is different for lunch and dinner, so check both to see which one your DD would prefer. I've also been dying to try Chefs de France, the Podcast crew rave about it and even say it's the best restaurant in Epcot. I'm trying to convince my guys to have lunch there this June. They have a very large menu, which might work for your DD. Have you been to the Sci-Fi? We went for the first time this past Nov and the burgers were awful. Both mine and DH's tasted like the salt shaker fell on the burgers! Way too salty. Should we ever return (DS5 loved it there) I would tell them to hold all seasonings on the burger!

Hi :wave2: to everyone else

Anyone else noticed they messed with the smiles again! :badpc:

Evening Gals!

Just back from our very nice but too quick week end!

Maxie I know I said I was staying at the BW(and that I would give you a review) which is what my aunt originally told me...but we stayed at the BCV...she got them mixed up!!:rotfl: Good thing I double checked before we got there...:confused3

Anyway BCV(in case any one would like to know!:) ) is very nice... great pool and so easy to get to the BW...Epcot...also quick and easy bus service everyhere else...we squeezed alot into 2 days...

Nice as it was though...there is nothing like the GF IMO...

Deb Ate at Cape May for breakfast...and we loved it...food was good and great character interaction too....thanks for the recomendation:thumbsup2

I did get to meet up with the GF gals:dance3: the crazy bus slowed down just long enough for a quick visit!!

They were wild and crazy and so warm and friendly too:goodvibes It was great to meet up! THANKS GF Gals!!!

Also I did have an up close encounter with Freak Dog!!! All I can say is he is one crazy dog!!!:rotfl:

Now the gals told me What happens at disney stays in disney so I will say no more...but I dont think the GF will ever be the same!!!....:rotfl:

Mare I am so glad that you enjoyed Mary Poppins...I knew you would...it really is so well done...

Deb How did the teaching go....did you enjoy it...I bet you kept the kids on their toes...

Ok I see the smilies are rearranged again....:rotfl: back to my favorites I think!!:confused3

Hope you all had a good weekend....need to get some rest so I can be up bright and early to catch up on the :laundy: and chores tomorrow!!

Good Morning everyone, 39 days until spring.

BlueSkies, welcome back. Glad you had a good trip. That is great that you got to meet up with the GF Gals.:woohoo: They must be having a blast, we haven't heard from them in a couple of days.:rolleyes1 :scared1: On meeting Freak Dog.:lmao:

Haven't done much this weekend, so I better get some cleaning done and more :laundy: DH went back to work today.:yay: No one to get in my way.:woohoo:

Morning Gals :surfweb:

Just returned from taking DS to school.......threw in a load of :laundy:.....poured myself a cup of coffee......and here I am ready to Dis :goodvibes. I do have to run out later though........I'm signing DS up for drivers ed this afternoon and then picking him up from school and taking him to get his permit :scared1: . I can't believe my baby is starting to drive :sad2:. I am not going to be able to take this :faint:....it will be a miracle if I survive :rotfl: :rotfl:.

BlueDeb.......I'm glad you had a nice weekend and you enjoyed the BCV :). That's great you were able to meet up with the Gals :yay:. It's always great to go to Disney.....even if it is just for a few days ::yes::.

Maxie......That's great about DH going back to work today :goodvibes. I hope things are still progressing well and he's getting back more of his vision every day :thumbsup2.

GF Gals.......Can't wait to hear all about the trip when you get back :yay:. Safe travels to you all today as you head back home :wizard:. I know it's sad knowing you're leaving today.......but that just means it's time to plan the next one :thumbsup2.

Deb :rolleyes1

BlueDeb: Happy to hear you had a nice time at BWV. The location is so convenient. We enjoyed Cape May bkfst on T-giving morning. Nice way to spend a holiday :goodvibes I was just reading the PlayBill for Mary Poppins, I enjoyed how they changed the story. The author before she died had wanted Disney to make a sequel to the movie with the additional Mary Poppin stories, when they didn't she insisted it be added to the musical. It was really interesting. Now I'd love to read the books! I loved how they named the other Nanny Miss Andrew, a nod to Julie Andrews ;)

Deb: Morning! :wave2:

GF Gals: Safe travels! Can't wait to see you're photos!

I'm so beat from our long weekend. I have to clean but just don't feel like moving today! :surfweb:

Good morning!

Deb- Good luck with your DS driving! :scared1:

BlueDeb- Sounds like you had a great time! It is great that you got to meet up with the GF gals :thumbsup2

Maxie- You surrived DH being home:dance3: It is great that he is well enough to get out of you hair and go back to work! Happy cleaning:laundy:

I hope everyone heading back today has safe travels!:goodvibes

These smiles are all messed up!!!:badpc:

Have a good monday!

Christine:)

:surfweb: Cleaned the upstairs and having a cup of coffee and taking a break before starting downstairs.
Deb, :scared1: It is very scary when kids start to drive.:scared: It does get better, but you still worry. I guess it is just part of being a parent. We will always worry about them no matter how old they are. :drinking1 Thought you might need these.:rotfl2:

Hi Mare :wave2:......After I posted earlier I knew I was forgetting something and it was to say I'm glad you had a fun weekend celebrating DS's birthday :goodvibes. But I'm sure you're wiped out :faint:.....those parties always did me in :rotfl:. They were fun but it was alot of work getting ready for them and then more work getting everything back in order afterwards . Glad you enjoyed Mary Poppins :goodvibes. I knew you were really looking forward to the show :). I can't seem to get moving this morning either :sad2:.

Christine......Thanks :goodvibes......I'm gonna need all the luck I can get :rotfl2: :rotfl2:. Good thing DH is going to be doing most of the "teaching" because I can't handle it when DS pulls the truck up or down the driveway :rotfl:........let alone being on the road :scared1:. But once he does get his license it will be a little easier on me as I won't have to drive him everywhere he wants to go :thumbsup2.

Maxie........WTG on the cleaning :thumbsup2. I did that all day Saturday :rolleyes1. Just thinking about DS driving makes me :scared:.....I sure could use one of these :drinking1. :rotfl: :rotfl: I'm with you......we will always worry no matter what!!! It is what parenting is all about .

Hope everyone has a good day :flower3:. It's dreary here with a call for rain later this afternoon and then for the next 2 days. I'm with you all on the smilies :badpc:. I wish they'd leave them alone because once I get used to where they're all at......they get changed and I have to hunt for the ones I want :headache:.

Deb :)

They don't sell them anymore - anywhere! I've heard the last place to sell them was QVC a few years back. We have a belgium waffle iron that rotates (the prof one) it makes amazing waffles. We keep in at the country house and have them every Sunday. Everyone visiting raves about our Sunday morning waffles. But DS5 really wants Mickey waffles! :sad2: So I've been on the hunt for a Mickey waffle iron for 2 years now! :rotfl: This is the closest thing I can find:

http://disneyshopping.go.com/disney..._65495__Home-&-Decor-Mickey-Mouse-Tasty-Baker

I'm a little concerned with the warning that people in CA can get cancer from using it. :rotfl2: That's why I haven't bought it. :rotfl:

Oh, at the Disney Store today, I found HUGE reuseable shopping totes with Mickey on them. It's black with his face for $4. I'm thinking it would make a great pool/beach bag being so lightweight.

Mare- that one is cute too!!! I guess I don't pay any attention anymore about what type they sell on property (I got mine at World of Disney back in 1997 ;) ) Did you look at any of the places down there on your last trip?

Hi all!:wave2: New here; just booked the GF RPC for the end of Sept. before our magic cruise. We have never stayed at the GF; it's my Bday trip-so I got to choose:rotfl: Shocker-mom never gets to pick! LOL Looks like super fun over here. My name is Angel and I have 3 kids DD age 16, 2 boys ages 7 and 4.My DH thinks I spend too much time on these boards LOL.

I know pretty much nothing about the GF;have been to the charcacter brkfst a few times though-my kids love Alice in Wonderland. I can't wait for Sept!
Nice to meet you all!pixiedust:

Hi Angel! Welcome! :goodvibes

Kristin-I tried the Lemon Turkey tonight. You were right, it was delicious! My DH first thought it was salmon on the plate, he said it didn't even taste like Turkey, thank you for the recommendation.

Lisa- I am so glad you liked it!! I was just thinking I would make this next time they have those cutlets on sale again!!

Good Morning All!!!

The weather here is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Its getting me more in the mode for my WDW trip in June.

As we wait for our GF Gals return I have a question about ADRs. Since I value all your opinions and by some of the recipes we all like good food. Tell me....what ressies do you make for your family. I am sorry my kids are too old for character meals, so I am looking for non-character.

These are my definites

The Plaza
Tutto Italia
Mama Melrose
Whispering Canyon
California Grill
Le Cellier
Grand Floridian Cafe
Sci Fi (?) (my son loves it, but its just a burger with a movie, it on the ? list)

I need one or two more
Teppan Edo (Went - it was Ok)
Spoodles (haven't been there in a long time, its getting great reviews)
Chef de France (Never been there)

Annette, we love Teppan Edo (a must do every trip for us) and we tried Chef's for lunch last trip and really enjoyed it. We have done Spoodles in 10+ years so I can't help with that one.

We usually do the DDP and for both trips this year we are doing Tables In Wonderland instead so we are doing all kinds of different places. It's nice being tied down to the credits!!

Hope the girls have safe travels home. Looks like Chan is bringing the warm weather with her!! They are calling for 63 tomorrow!! :woohoo: It was in the 50's for the past few days so most of the snow is gone (except for the big piles in parking lots etc).

TTFN!
Kristin

Good Morning All!!

Thanks for all the suggestions for dinner. I think with all the help that I am ready. We do all love the same places!!! lol lol lol!!!

Mare - I am glad you liked Mary Poppins. We saw it a couple of years ago. We thought it was great but really really long.

Annette: OMG was it LOOONG!! Why didn't one of you tell me!! We went thru two beverages it was so long! Thankfully refills (in the MP cup) were half price :thumbsup2 DS5 loved the show, he was dancing during most parts. Every once in awhile, he'd curl up next to me and I thought he was going to nap :rotfl2: But he stayed awake. I had no idea it was going to be THREE HOURS!!!

Kristin: I'm always on the lookout for the Mickey waffle iron in WDW. They no longer carry it. It has to re-appear one day. It's such a popular item. I just found that Sandra Lee Turkey Cutlet recipe, I'm going to try it later this week.

Deb: Hopefully DS will surprise you and be a really good driver :drive:

I'm so tired. I just cleaned the boys room. I had to get rid of the old toys they no longer play with. I have 5 trash bags full of toys to donate to the school's flea market. I was going to do my walking DVD while DS1 naps, but I'm too beat.

Has anyone been to the Coral Reef recently for lunch? The menu looks good. Oh, speaking of menus did you see that post over on the restaurant board that WDW is now scaning the menus online? Not all of them, be most of the TS. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/restaurants/ For those that have the menus, you click on "see details" then on the right hand side you'll see pdf files.

Afternoon Gals :goodvibes

It's quiet here today :rolleyes1. Well......DS is all signed up for drivers ed......he starts tonight :faint:. I don't know what's worse.......the thought of losing my sanity through all this or paying the $365 for the 5 week course :scared1: :scared1:. There's no such thing as anything being cheap anymore :sad2:.

Kristin.......I am just THRILLED about the weather we're going to get :thumbsup2 (hopefully :rotfl:). Everything here is just about melted and it's weird not seeing white everywhere you look .....there is actually grass :rotfl2:.

Mare......I sure hope DS turns out to be a good driver :drive:....although I'm sure I'll still lose my sanity . Wow.....3 hours for Mary Poppins  ....that's a LONG show :scared:. But I'm sure it was worth it :).

Deb :cutie:

Hi Everyone...Good Afternoon!

Just catching up a little on the posts...

Maxie 39 days till spring...can't come soon enough!! It was even cold in Florida...:scared1: I want some warm weather...and the sooner the better:)

Deb Drivers Ed:scared: ...just the words strike fear in the hearts of us teen parents...where is the tranquilizer smilie!!;)

Annette Great dining list...I have many similar restaurants on my list...I agree with Mare I want to try the Wave too...

Mare Thanks for that menu info...you always have such good tips!!!:thumbsup2

Kristin This week I'll be cooking the turkey cutlets too...with your side dish suggestions....I wonder how this would be with chicken cutlets...I always seem to have those on hand...:confused3

Lisa You are right on top of things with the new recipes...you have usually tried them before I have even gotten all of the ingredients!!

Christine The smilies have been moving around alot lately:headache: as soon as I get used to them....they get moved!!:rotfl:

Angel Welcome!!:) A birthday trip to the GF!! Enjoy!

I'm dragging a little today...the quick trip was great...but it wore me out!! Maybe I'll make some good use of one of those great bath bombs I got at Basin...

Have a good day TTYL:)

I'm done with the cleaning, well all that I am going to do anyway.:rotfl2:

Christine, Yeah I survived DH being home.:crazy2: Glad he is back to work though. Husbands should not be allowed to be home during the day.:rotfl2:

Mare, We ate at Coral Reef in April. It was good, but we had a long long wait. We waited over an hour to be seated. I think our ADR was at 2, not prime lunch time either. It turned out to be more like an early dinner. The food was very good and I would do it again.

I started to plan our May trip. I have decided on Narcoossees, but can't decide between the Wave and Citricos. We usually only make 1 or 2 ADR's and just wing it the rest of the time. I can't decide where I want to eat or when this far in advance.:rotfl2: I don't know how you all do it.:worship: I also want to do one of the back stage tours. We have done KTTK, but wouldn't mind doing it again, and WDE twice so think I will wait until another time to do it again. I am thinking maybe Undiscovered Future World. Any one go on that one? Haven't heard anything about it, sounds iinteresting though.

My yard is still covered in snow. I think it will be here until June.:rotfl2: There are a couple of places that are under trees and didn't get as much snow that you can see the grass, but that is it.

I agree.....husbands should NOT be allowed home during the day.....it was meant for them to be a work those hours of the day :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Thanks for posting about Coral Reef........I've often thought about eating there but never have :rolleyes1. We have so many favorites that we have more places we want to eat than nights to do them in :rotfl:. I'm driving myself crazy deciding on a final ADR list for June....just when I think I'm done and tell myself to stick with what I have listed, I start thinking of others I'd like to add :rotfl2:.

Deb Drivers Ed:scared: ...just the words strike fear in the hearts of us teen parents...where is the tranquilizer smilie!!;)

I hear ya loud and clear :rotfl: :rotfl:. Just the THOUGHT of it is about to drive me over the edge :rotfl2:. And I forgot to mention earlier.....I'm glad you liked Cape May :goodvibes. We usually try to do a dinner and a breakfast every trip.......but in June I think we're just doing a dinner .

Deb :upsidedow

Husbands home and kids driving:scared1: :scared1: Now that calls for a drink!!!

I am glad I have time to figure out these ADRs, because my family keeps changing their mind. They don't like buffets and I'am trying to find restaurants that offer something other then a steak for my DD, but that what picky eaters get!!! I am trying to so hard to change her, its working but it is a very slow process!!!!!!

I'm right there with you Annette as my oldest is SO PICKY :headache:. He will eat steak sometimes....if he's in the mood :rolleyes1.....otherwise it's cheeseburgers or chicken tenders :sad2:. And just like you.....my DS has come a long way...but it has taken forever to get here :rotfl:...and we still have a ways to go :rotfl:. But then my 13 year old eats just about anything .
