Have your gas prices risen yet because of Katrina?

I posted yesterday about gas prices where I live. Yesterday afternoon it went up from around 2.70 to 2.89. This morning DH called me on his way to work and said one station was over 3 dollars a gallon now.

I totally agree with bjgrazi, something needs to be done!

Jumped up 25-25 cents a gallon, to $2.79 to $2.89 depending where you got it, yesterday. Not sure what it will be today!

Got gas yesterday morning at $2.79 a gallon (and that was at a station that is notoriously high), this morning that same station was $2.95.

I filled up my car on Monday and it was $2.49. When I passed the same gas station on my way to work this morning, it was $2.59. I'm sure it will rise, but hasn't yet. I saw another station on my way to work and it was at $3.01.

I filled up on the way into work this morning. Or I should say that I "tried" to fill up. The station that I stopped at ran out of regular as I was filling my tank, so I had to switch to 89 octane. I paid $2.69 for the regular and $2.79 for the mid-grade premium.

My wife just called to tell me that gasoline is now $3.09 a gallon and that there are lines at the pumps. The local website that tracks gasoline prices in Cleveland is swamped. I'm getting the dreaded "Server Busy" message from their site.

I talked to someone at work who knows the owner of a gas station and she was told that today's delivery of regular is going to cost them $3 per gallon and that they try to make about 10 cents a gallon profit. I guess that's pretty much in line with the $3.09/gallon price.

Where was that poll about "When do you think gasoline will top $3 per gallon"?

The answer is obviously today, at least in NE Ohio.

It was $2.54 yesterday Dh just got gas and it was 3.49. This is bad!!

Last night...a the gas station at my grocery store gas was 2.65 (or 2.75)
Today it was 3.04.

so it went up 40 or 30 cents. hehehe I forget which was which last night.

In the grand scheme of things...me coughing up a few extra bucks is nothing compared to what others have lost.

Ours is going up too. It was $1.109 CAD/L (about $3.51 US/Gallon) My MIL just called and said it was $1.329 CAD/L (about $4.21 US/Gallon)

Tomorrow is our cap date for home heating oil - it's running about $0.769 CAD/L ($2.44 US/Gallon) - I sure as Hades hope it doesn't go up more.

Yesterday it was $2.50, this morning it's $2.85 and the girl inside Racetrak told me that it will continue to go up all day long - OOUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is really scary.

DH went to the same place Tueday - regular - $2.81 a gallon!

Wow - 22 cent increase in 24 hours!

I can top that...It was $2.57 this morning in my hometown...My DW works for a bank in the area. She went out at lunch, and every station in town is now at $3.09 !!! That's 52 cents in about 4 hours.

CNN has an article saying that some experts are predicting the price will easily exceed $4.00 a gallon before it levels off.

Yesterday morning regular gas was 2.45 a gallon when I went to work(7a.m.) when I came home from work it was 2.59. This morning it was 2.79.

I didn't notice the prices in PA, but when I drove to school last night (in WV), the prices jumped about 20 cents from $2.54 to $2.74 at some stations.

Do any of you have grocery stores that give you cents off per gallon of gas for a certain amount of money spent? We have Giant Eagle here and they do that. I now try to do all my shopping there for the gas savings. A few weeks ago, I saved 90 cents per gallon and last night I saved 70 cents per gallon -- that's for a whole fill up.

The gas station I went to yesterday was at $2.56 in the morning. When I drove by this morning it was at $2.88, up .32 cents. The other two places I drove by were still at $2.79 so I will have to see what they are when I drive by when I go home.

I am getting nervous how much home heating fuel is going to be. I don't have another source to heat my home and I can't imagine having to pay out over $2600 to heat my home for the winter.

Well, the town in Ga that I work in is giving out of gas.......they say it will be 7 -10 days before we get more.
