Have your gas prices risen yet because of Katrina?

Filled up my tank & paid $2.69 at 9:30...Just seen it was $3.09..

Just heard that Delta may be cutting some flights(heard it on wlw or wkrc..forgot exactly why...maybe its because they get jet fuel for $1.8ish a gallon...Think thats about to change....

Aladdinsgirl & mrsmom..I live in Northern KY...Whats gas in Ohio up to??

It's very clear that some gas stations are just taking advantage of the situtation.

Look at GasBuddy.com. There is NO reason there should be 80 cent differences among stations in one city...

It was $2.73 yesterday, today it's $2.93 and I was told it was going up tomorrow. I thought there was a law that they can't raise prices everyday. Is that correct?

I still have a car and a roof over my head so I feel very fortunate, and am not complaining too loudly. My heart goes out to those affected by the wrath of Hurricane Katrina.

Gas up in my town by .20 per gallon overnight, from $2.49 to $2.69. CNN is reporting that gas may hit $4 per gallon before it starts to decrease.

Yesterday morning it was $2.39 as I was taking the kids to school. I unwisely decided to get my groceries home instead of filling up. This morning it is $2.99!

I'm just south of Boston. I filled my tank Monday morning "just in case" it went up. It was $2.59 then. This morning I went by the gas station. It was $3.19.....premium gas (which DD uses!!!) was (gulp) $3.59. 3.59. 3.59..yikes

Tell your DD to check her car's owners manual, as the vast majority of cars get absolutely nothing out of using "premium" gasoline as opposed to "regular". Unless she drives a high powered sports car, she is probably just throwing money away.

I heard on local radio that Delta is cancelling some flights because the jet fuel lines (as well as the gasoline lines) to Atlanta from the Gulf are down. Price isn't the main issue right now, availability is.

Atlanta typically has a 10 day supply of gasoline. People are panicing about the broken fuel lines and some gas stations may run out of gas this afternoon. The reserve supply may not last 10 days.

This is what concerns me more than the rising price of gasoline - the availability of gasoline - I've already read reports where in some places they have run out of gas and don't know when they will have anymore.

I keep saying over and over this is what is worrying me - the availability of gas - I filled up my tank this morning but I've only got a 12 gallon tank - that's not much gas if there is a shortage.......................

At 8:45 am when I was driving to the gym the gas at the station on the corner was $2.88 for Reg. At 10:45am on the drive home from the gym the gas at the station on the corner was $3.39 for Reg. Wow!!
