Have You Stayed at Boardwalk Villas?

The Boardwalk is our home DVC resort! I love just about everything about it.

The location can not be beat! The 2 parks, dozens of restaurants, evening entertainment for families & adults all at your door step.

The only two negatives that have been mentioned are:

1. the long hallways - we once had one of the rooms at the very end of the hall and it was a longggg walk from the bus stop to the room especially after spending hours walking around the parks.

2. that there is virtually no food available inside the resort. The Bell Vue Lounge on the Inn side of the resort sells a continental breakfast, coffee, juice, etc in the morning. I am not sure why the sundry shop in the lobby can't sell some beverages & snacks.

We stayed there last May and are hooked on the Epcot resorts. The location is AMAZING! Being able to walk to Epcot and DHS is awesome. The nightly entertainment at the Boardwalk is great, and free. The Boardwalk Bakery is so very yummy....walking around that lake is great! I can't recommend it enough. :thumbsup2

Long hallways?!? If you don't like walking you picked the wrong spot to vacation. ;-). Seriously isn't it strange how a long walk inside seems longer than the same walk outside?? In defense of those not liking the long walk, the worst is when your young kid falls asleep on the boat or bus then you have to carry them down the never ending hallway.

Thank you all for the replies. We will be on the dining plan but also buy some groceries for snacks in the room. It will be 3 adults so I don't think the long hall ways will be an issue. We went on a cruise a couple of years ago and took the stairs most every time. Ate everything I wanted and no weight gain. We will not have a car as we always use the busses so no parking problem. On our first trip we stayed a OKW. Beautiful resort but a little quiet for us. Second trip stayed at SSR. I loved it but wanted to try something different. My son went with friends in 2005 and stayed at BC. He has waned o go back there ever since. He loved the location to Epcot. Thanks again for the replies. I am so looking forward to this vacation!:banana::banana:

LOVE BWV!!!

Stayed for the first time last may, we had a fourth floor romm with a birdeye view of TOT.

Yes it was far from the elevator, BUT we had the staircase right outside our door, that led RIGHT OUT BY ATLANTIC DANCE FLOOR.

We don't mind the walking.
We are staying there again this may and cannot wait!! :yay:

My family and I rented points to use @BWV! We've reserved TWO standard view studios for March 2012! Any tips, suggestions, advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated! :goodvibes

if you thought OKW was a bit quiet, you'll probably like being at BWV. we've stayed there many times with both BW and pool views, and while you can definitely hear noise when sitting on the balcony, we never had an issue when the doors were shut. Our home resort is SSR and we stayed for 2 nights at the end of the trip, and we keep going back to BWV. having so many options for restaurants is amazing (try Big River Grill if you can, it's delicious!) and although there arent a lot of QS options, you can buy food at the Screen Door on the BW. I think it's nice to have a hotel where you can spend a night there and have plenty of things to do, and it's a very quick walk to the beach at BC to watch a movie if you want :) and while I understand the concerns about a long hallway, when we took my grandparents in 2007 we were in 4008 at the very end, and my grandma who had a knee replacement did just fine. Although, I don't envy anyone who has to carry small children down that hallway!

I think you guys are going to have a spectacular trip, it's very hard to not fall in love with an Epcot resort :D

BWV is our least favorite DVC resort. What we don't like are the endless corridors (only one elevator bank, so you have a long walk to get to the elevator), the hike from the parking lot, too much going on (busy, busy, busy). We're much bigger fans of BCV because there are two elevator banks, so you aren't as far away from the elevator and the parking is right next to the villas.

And then there is the scary clown pool. I'm a big Stephen King fan, so I can't help but make the comparison to IT.
