Update: Day two after second Pfizer dose and I woke up at 4:30 am because my arm/shoulder is so incredibly sore. I also have a very swollen/tender lymph node in my armpit. Taking some tylenol and trying to go back to sleep! Luckily, this is the only real side effect I'm experiencing. Husband has had a little bit of a sore arm but that's it.

I also had a swollen armpit after my 2nd Pfizer. Nice to know I am not the only one.

I got my 2nd dose of the Pfizer vaccine on Thursday. No side effects!

More than 48 hours post Pfizer # 2. Same as vaccine 1, just a sore arm. I switched arms this time (to even things out ). The shot hurt a little more going in this time, but maybe that was the vaccinator or I was more tense, not sure. Arm was a little more sore than the last time too, but I took two Tylenol before bed + shower, and it was fine overnight and almost gone by morning. I was fatigued yesterday and sneezing a bit today - all I assume from just general lack of sleep and allergy season.

I'm still surprised at how differently the vaccines affect all of us.

Glad it is done (for now). I read that Moderna is also working on a third booster that may be out this fall??? And AstraZeneca is working on another vaccine for the new variants. We may see this thread up for quite a while still!

Appreciate everyone's feedback and providing knowledge about the vaccines. I have had quite a bit of hesitation about getting one, even as a person in favor of vaccines in general. I did as much reading as I could on the various technologies and followed up on comments and knowledge shared here, positive and negative. So just a general thanks to all the posters.

Update on DD who got her second Pfizer dose yesterday......so about 26 hours.
She is miserable. Her whole body aches, she can barely move her arm, a slight fever (1-2 degrees over depending on the thermometer she is using).

DIL gets her second dose tomorrow.....she did not take the next day off, but she does work from home

I’m feeling a little bit tired today. It’s not horrible, but I’m just resting. Not sure if it’s the vaccine or just me. It’s been a warm day so it could just be my body adjusting to the temperatures. Shoulder is definitely sore now but not so bad I can’t move it. But if I raise my left arm I can feel it.

There are 8 of us at work who have had it of varying ages (22 - 65) and only one had 24 hour flu like symptoms. I say prepare to feel icky and be happy when nothing. I think we are hearing about those with bad symptoms at a higher rate than those with none as folks rarely complain about no symptoms.

Neither my husband nor I had anything (44 and 49). Fingers crossed you don’t either!

Same here. I go Saturday and getting a little worried. Hubby had some chills after second shot. Did not feel well the whole day (day after), took Tylenol and was fine next day.

Not sure if it's a coincidence - but since my first shot - I feel like my whole body has aches - moving slower - could be in my head

So 24 hours post Pfizer #2. Did fine most of yesterday, but started getting really achey around 9pm. Took Tylenol and went to bed and slept great until 4am. Woke up feeling nauseous and achey, especially in my legs. Took a Zofran and more Tylenol, but couldn’t get comfortable so moved to the couch, where I slept on & off until 7am. Feeling a little achey in the legs again. Thankfully I have plans for today, so I can nap as needed. Arm is sore if I move it above my head, but that is a minimal problem to me.

Update on mine. About 33 hours post 2nd dose. Took more Tylenol around 11am (it’s almost 5pm here). Laid in bed most of the day and took two 20 min naps. Still a little achey in my shoulders, but feeling much better. Still no fever and the nausea is completely gone. So hopefully that means I’m over the worst of it.

I felt the same way leading up to my second shot. But the majority of people really don't have bad reactions (less than half in clinical trials reported anything at all). For myself, I just decided to treat it like I was signing up to have the flu for a day or two. Stocked up on soup and comfort foods, made sure I had plenty of meds on hand. And mine turned out to be nothing more than 24 hours of some muscle aches and tiredness. Advil took care of the pain, and I was able to work from home the next day, just squeezed in a nap. I think if you're prepared to feel lousy, then if you do, it's not a surprise, but more than likely you'll be pleasantly surprised. Good luck!

Ok. I thought I was a little crazy. I noticed this too. I got the Pfizer shot on Friday. Hoping that symptom is gone today! It feels like moments of low blood sugar where you absolutely have to eat something. Weird.

I had that after both my Pfizer shots. Gone within a couple of days.

Our 30 year old daughter who lives in NYC was scheduled for her first Pfizer vaccine yesterday. I sure hope she showed up, she has had a serious needle aversion since she was 5 years old. I also hope she had minimal side effects, she has a very busy work schedule.

My 50 plus year old brother had the second Pfizer shot yesterday, also in NYC. Looking forward to seeing him for our mom’s 91st birthday in 3 months. He was here last the first week of March 2020. Mom is used to seeing him for a week 3-4 times a year. We will have a lot of celebrate. Thank God for the vaccines.

We have not been able to see our kids yet. My mom was fully vaccinated in early February, my husband and I in late February. We were not allowed any visits with Mom at all in January or February. I am still officially restricted to once a week visits in her assisted living apartment in the continuing care community where she has lived since 2015. Her hearing and cognition have declined further during the last year. At this point I think the value of visiting without the mask outweighs the risk, at least for us, so I take it off, but am required to wear it when entering the building and in the hall ways.

Also I plead guilty to having hugged her briefly and kissed her on the cheek a few times. I am hoping that there will be some clarity soon about how often we are officially allowed to visit. We have had a lot of visits as she fell, had to go to the ER and has had a lot of doctors visits in the last 4 weeks. I don’t consider these visits but at least I was with her.
