Surprisngly, only a few over the course of the 7 years I've been posting here.

SURE! Not just here...other boards too. The internet allows people to say things "anonymously" that they would never dare to say to someones face. If you ever want to really see mean, catty, rude vicious posts, wander over to ANY of the wedding related boards like Todaysbride or theknot.com

Per the question at hand, yes, I have received a couple of unkind pm's. They were both over issues, I thought were kind of silly.

But then again, I've learned to keep my mouth shut and not say much about my personal life or opinions. Once I did mention something personal and it spawned a rather nasty and uncalled for spin-off thread. It was very un-Disney-like. I don't need that here. There's enough fo that IRL.

I've received one...it was from a link I had posted to my adoption website. This lovely person wrote me about how horrible it was that I had fundraising events on there and that I was exploiting my soon to be daughter. Very nasty, had me in tears...then I realized this was just a sad pathetic person.

I've gotten a few from jerks who have since been banned!

I also got one from someone who I swear just comes to these boards to ask the stupidest questions and look for a little cheese for their whine.

I just ignore them all.

Any bashing I got on DIS was up front on the pages. The majority of PM’s I got came from people that agreed with my point of views but felt too intimidated to say so on the boards.

it's incredible what people say in PM's. I used to get upset, now I consider the source and move on.

I got one!!!!! I think it was supposed to be nasty, but it really just came off as lame and stupid.

I know how to make lemonade out of lemons, and I ended up having fun with it, creating a whole, fun-filled thread to make fun of it! I recommend that route highly. People who send insults via PM are just cowardly idiots.
