Haunted Mansion Fastpass

Oh my! You obviously haven't heard the very BEST FP tip. You can use them after they expire! So, if your FP return time is between 10:40 and 11:40 am, you can use them anytime after 10:40 am, up until park closing! It's true!

So collecting multiple FP's early at either park is extremely beneficial! Keep reading Hydro's tips! :thumbsup2

Count me in as being a graduate of the FP classroom too...thanks to DIS.

When we went to DL in 2000, we didn't know about using your FP later in the day (or maybe they didn't allow then), so we were always looking at our watches waiting for that window to open. Come to think of it...we didn't even know we could get another FP after 2 hours. We thought we had to use the one we were holding first.

When we went down there in 2001, DCA had just opened and we didn't have a clue what park-hopping was. We just thought that a Park-hopper ticket meant that they were good for both parks but you were only allowed one park per day. :confused3

This vacation, we're going to experience DL in a whole new way. Can't wait...57 days to go.

So, based on this, am I to understand that at WDW, you cannot use a FP after the return window?? If that's true, I never knew that. Can anyone confirm this?

We have, but maybe they just didn't notice. But then again, I've rarely seen a CM study the thing. Just grab it and let you through.

The last time we went in October they had fastpass for HM. I hated it. We like to ride the holiday version more then a few times a day! Seems like FP for this ride really slows stand by down. We'd stand there forever while the line of fastpassers kept coming and coming. Got to be a bit unfair for anyone in stand by. I LOVE the FP system too, but to me it just doesn't work very well for this ride.

Actually I can unconfirm this. I have indeed used several WDW FPs after the return window. If the CM refuses, just ask them to call over another CM or their manager and they will allow you to enter with your "expired" FP.

You absolutely CAN use your FP any time after the beginning of the window at DL and WDW. DH and I have only ever had 1 cast member question us and we politely asked them to check with their supervisor who confirmed that it could be accepted. CMs might make snide comments like "Running late aren't we" or something like that but they will take them.

We have used FPs hours after the window at all parks.

We never asked about it, but will the next time we get "turned down" when we come back. I just think back about all those 'watching the clock' times and feel bummed, but no worries - we know better next time!!

Off topic, but something under my name has been added and my colors are different - does this mean I was tagged!?!?!?! If so, that is SO exciting!!! Never thought it would happen to me :cool1: :yay: :goodvibes

I have read those threads? I also didn't find aythign I didn't already know. :confused3

My point was only about HM, and I know I'm not the only one who thinks it wasn't one of the rides that should have had FP installed.
I think Hound read your post the same way I did, which seemed to be a blanket statement about FP when it now appears you were referring specifically to HMH. And I agree with you. HMH FP has about as much value as BLAB or RR. It can save you a little time but often you do not need it.

Since I was answering a quesiton in a thread about the HM I figured it was a given.

I had the opposite experience. Then again, we stood for ages in the FP line while someone in front of us asked the CM some very very long question, while we watched standby people zoom past us. We really should have just abandoned the FPs, but we kept thinking the interaction in front of us would END at some point soonish...:sad2:
