I've become DISnified. Although I don't post very often or very much, I like reading other people's posts. Evidently I've read too much.

I now think in DISspeak.

For instance, my wife told my daughter she would get to see Chip n' Dale when we are in Disney World next week. I reflexively corrected her, "Chuck and Dave."

I was speaking with a client a few weeks ago and she said she grew up in Texas. I immediately thought, "Texas born and Texas bred and when I die I'll be Texas dead."

In telling a story the other day I described the passage of time this way, "Not long ago, after the Bible began . . ."

For two days I've been telling people "I''m in single digits." But no one seems to understand me.

If you don't recognize these, than take heart, you have not been DISnified yet. However, if you can immediately place any or all of these, than like me, you've got a problem.

I know I'm not the first one to struggle with this problem. Is there some sort of support group I can join? Is there any help at all?

don't worry - you are not alone - my DH thinks i am off my nut when while at WDW we stop for a snack and i whip out my spray cheese and sleeve of crackers i say "time for our corn break".

this goes back to that "old" DIS legend of someone spying a rather frugal pair of vacationers taking a break and sharing a can of corn.

Thats ok...
Dont worry to much after all you have all of us to help you through it.
I think the best thing you should do is:
Seeing how you are "single digits"Take youre trip to "WDW" and take the "mono" to the "TTC", then go to the "MK" and say hi to "Chuck and Dave!"
When you are there you have to go on the "SM" and "POC".
Also you should visit the "Poly", or "POFQ" so you can go to "DTD"

AND you really are lucky because Im only Double digits, I would love to be single digits.
My family are so use to me talking like this that they dont even ask me to translate anymore, they just roll there eyes.
And dont get them started on when I start talking CODES!

YES we all feel youre pain!!!!:earseek:

I found myself at work speaking and calling my husband my DH...that got some looks..:)

On another thread(TR board?) a child kept calling Chip and Dale "Chuck and Dave" So the family called them Chuck and Dave for the whole trip. I believe this is the same TR that had everyone saying "Love ya, Mean it" on the message boards for quite a while.
I am not sure but I think the TR was from "Delswife" and if it is the report Im remembering it has to be one of the most entertaining TR that I have read!

I LOVE the fact that I am "DISnified"( great phrase!)

Speaking of which....Is there a cheatsheet somewhere of what all of the Disney language (codes) means?

I took me a few posts to figure out something as basic as what DH means.

I'd be nice to reference the new people to the Disney language cheatsheet.

~"Mom" of the "little boy" who loved "chuck and dave" and who's boyfriend was a bit of a "sap".

LOL - got mad at DH the other night...told him "Love ya, mean it" and walked out of the room.

The truth is the truth! ;)
and you are welcome::yes::

I have become known as the resident DISney expert at work providing advice to at least 8 different people including the President  on their trips - this is out of about 300 people total who work there.

Love ya, mean it - that one is great - used it at a product managers seminar today when asked my attitude towards channel sales - too funny indeed

:teeth:

::yes:: :wave2:

Cheers

edited as today, an 8th person at work asked me for Disney help on cruises - I pointed them to the DCL and DCL Trip Report boards here on the DIS!

LOL! I drive my family crazy when I talk about the MK or CSR instead of saying the name.

Or I'll tell a story I've read here and my DH is saying, "Now who did that happen to? Do I know them?"

Brianmonk - for the longest time I thought the D in DH was "Disney Husband"!!

Just the other day my DH called me OCDD, for Obsessive Compulsive Disney Disorder- This was because I now know where my counter is at without checking... I mention it at least three times a day, LOL. That and I think he thought it was funny back when I said I was running out of time to plan things when I was over the 100 day mark. He just didn't understand the 90 day PS thing.

I Dis speak from time to time, I post to a few MB's and so the DH DD DS thing happened to me long ago. But I have used the phrase "Love ya, mean it" and my kids are looking foward to seeing "Chuck and Dave".

Did you notice my pretty tags? They are both new!! And it put such a smile on my face to see them that my DH thought maybe I had booked even more nights at Disney!
