Has anyone tried seabands?

I am not the type to get motion sickness. In fact, the only time I do get motion sickness is when I am playing a 3D game on my computer (and running around very fast on it) or when I am on a ride that turns you around and around horizontally.
I do roller coasters, up and down ride, cars, trains, planes, and everything else just fine.
I would really like to do the turny turny rides (carousels are iffy, ferris wheels I am just fine with) but I know that if I get on the mad hatter tea party one, I will almost puke.
I do not want to take an oral medication because I've heard that they can make you drowsy. In fact I've never taken a motion sickness pill before. I have just avoided 'those' kids of rides and/or gotten on and been ill feeling afterwards.
I don't want this to happen at WDW. I want to ride everything and not feel sick.

Has anyone every tried Seabands? I would like some feedback on if they do work or not and if they would work for me.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks! :D

Yes, I've tried them. They seemed to help me a lot. For example, I don't know if you've been to Universal on the MIB ride where you spin around, although not constantly. It helped. I still felt a little woozy, but nothing that I couldn't handle. I never rode the Mad Hatter Teacups, so I don't know if it would have worked. They didn't help my DH though. He still got really sick on the virtual reality rides like Body Wars. Go figure, because the Rock and Roll Roller Coaster didn't phase him. The bands work using accupressure, so you have to make sure they're placed correctly. I remember hearing something about a Patch? that could be obtained through your physician to control motion sickness w/o the side effects. Check with your local Pharmacist. They may be able to suggest something. They are often a font of information. But make sure you talk to the Pharmacist, and not one of their techs. I've tried over the counter meds, and even the less drowsy formulas do still make you sleepy. I wouldn't recommend them. If you still get nauseous, I've heard candied ginger works great for calming an upset tummy. But I don't know where to buy it.

I also get really travel sick and I don't go anywhere without my sea bands. I love all types of rides and have never once felt sick after being on them when I have been wearing my sea bands.:p

I tried them when I was pregant and we were flying to disney I was so worried about being nauseous on the plane...I wasnt they worked great. I told a friend about them who gets motion sickness and they worked for her too.

We had to purchase them on the Disney cruise (the seae were extremely rough the first night). We have since used them at the parks and they are worth every penny spent.

I had to buy them when I was on the Disney Cruise and now where them whenever I go on the rides. I still sometimes feel a little sick but it is better than taking the pills and feeling drowsy. They also sell a wristband that costs about $100 that supposed to work real well. I know CVS sells them. I was also told that if you get nauseaus (spelling?) eat an apple (was told this on the cruise). They say the patches may still cause drowziness.

So many people have had great luck with the sea bands, but those and the ginger capsules do nothing for me. I would test the sea bands out first before you take your trip to be sure that they will help you. One-third of a Less Drowsy Dramamine works great for me.

We did not use them at the parks but we drove from MA with my DS who has never made it more than 1 hour in a car without getting motion sickness. 23 Hours straight through and he was just fine. I was so skeptical leaving MA but now don't leave home without them.

My DW got a perscription for these from our family doctor. They did not help her at all. She nearly passed out after Body Wars.

I love my Sea Bands, but . . . they don't work for everything!! I too am fine on every kind of ride, except for those that spin in circles. I have to say that I never tried them on the Madhatter's Tea Party, but I went on this one ride at Six Flags near my house. A Tilt-A-Whirl type thing. It was still horrible. I think I probably would have thrown up, without the bands, but even with them, I felt miserable.

I have to fly in a helicopter as part of my job duties and always got sick. I recently purchased Motion Eaze - a natural oil and it worked great. Not a flutter in my tummy:) Go to Google.com and search motion sickness - motion eaze will be there waiting. It is expensive but you use only a drop and it can last all day.
