This is being advertised on TV a lot. Have any of you tried it? If you did, did you like it? Did you think it was a good value compared to buying coffee in the supermarket? Is the coffeemaker they send you any good?

Honestly, I ordered it, got the free mugs and coffee maker, and tried the coffee. I am very bad at making coffee, so it never turns out quite like what it should actually taste like. I canceled my "subscription" and didn't have to pay for anything. I had to try the decaf (no caffeine - drs orders) and DH tried the caf. He liked it.

Me!!! I have!!!!

I've been a Gevalia customer since 1993! I signed up with them and got the free coffee maker, which was a great value!

I've bounced around w/their selections, and there are many more now compared to 9 years ago!

It's a little pricier than what you can get at the grocery store, but Gevalia's coffee has a better flavor and not as much acidity, which is a BIG factor w/my heartburn. I tried stopping the Gevalia and just getting Maxwell house, and I could definitely tell a difference!

Right now I get 2 pounds delivered every 6 weeks--you can customize when and how much you want.

I get 2 Chocolate Raspberry flavored (thought I'd never like it, turns out I LOVE the stuff!) 1 Morning Blend and 1 Light Roast.

For a while I was getting the coffee house selections too.

Hi Janice, I joined Gevalia a few months ago and love it. I got the free coffee maker, the one with the carafe, and it is wonderful. It is a ten cup carafe, and makes it very quickly. I have to tell you I am now spoiled. I use to only use Folger's and now don't like that either. In terms of value, I don't think the price is a bargain, but in terms of great coffee, I think it is worth it. I get four 1/2 lb packages every six weeks, and it's not enough. I'm going to up my order to six packs!

Lately, I am crazy about vanilla flavored coffee, and I saw it's one that they offer on the commercial. I'm so tempted!

I believe the ad said it's $14.95 for 2 pounds to try it, and you get the free coffeemaker (I do need one now). Then, they sent 2 pounds every 6 weeks or at whatever other interval you want it.

Is it $14.95 for 2 pounds all the time? Is there an additional shipping/handling fee?

Janice, my mother-in-law got me Gevalia one year for the holidays. It was ok, but I wasn't that thrilled with it.

Then I found Veritas coffee (www.veritascoffee.com). It is expensive, but SOOOOOOOO worth it. I found a coupon in Martha Stewarts magazine where I got 4 lbs and got a french press, bean grinder, air tight container and mug all for about $50. I don't drink coffee every day, but on the weekends you can find me grinding and pressing (make sure you don't use tap water -- use filtered or bottled...it really does make a difference). Their cinnamon spice (reg or decaf) is unbelievable. My hubby even likes it when it's decaf. And I had to bring in a thermos full for my boss once! ;)

PM or email if you want more info!

we order gevalia and really like it.

No I haven't. A lady I work with has and she says it's pretty good coffee though.:) I think I'll stay with my Foglifter coffee though.:) I love it.:)

I am like janice, I was wondering if gevalia was worth ordering. I am real coffee fan and I've been tempted to order it many times. I think I may try it. Worse comes to worse, I'll cancel :)

Do they have whole bean coffee? I have a grinder.

GoofyGirl, you can order whole bean or ground.

I tried it at a party once. It's the BEST coffee I've ever had!! I don't know which flavor she had though. I really need to call her and find out. :teeth:

I too jumped on the Gevalia bandwagon back when they offered the coffeemaker with the grinder built in. I used to get whole bean coffee every 6 weeks or so. I ordered for quite awhile but had to cancel since the shipping charges were killing me. :( It was sure good coffee though. I now go through a local wholesaler and he has some stuff that tastes just like it!!!!:D

We love Gevalia and have been customers for about 5 years. My dad got me hooked on them. They blow Starbucks out of the water imho. Starbucks is so bitter.

We love it! DH is the coffee freak. He grinds using a burr grinder (drops through rather than sitting in the little bucket with the blade) and uses filtered water.

Since we are on a tighter budget we make it last longer by mixing their beans with Eight o'clock columbian beans. It works really well! eight o'clock is in supermarkets, A&P, Superfresh, probaby some others.

Our coffee maker with thermal carafe broke & they sent us another one free. Very good customer service.

I must like bitter because I don't care for gevalia. I use white cloud mountain....it is pricey but worth it.

I had a subscription to Gevalia a few years ago. It was OK, IMHO, but not worth the price when I can go to one of the "non-Starbucks" coffee shops here locally and get a bigger selection for a better price.
