Has anyone had something go missing since daily room checks began?

100 plus stays, AKV, OKW, BLT, SSR - Never had incidents. The thought that they rifled in your suitcase is disturbing, but when things come up missing, you either lost it, left it behind, hid it from yourself (under bed etc) or someone took it.

We had the daily room checks at our recent stay at VGC (the trash was gone every day when we got back to the room, so they must've done the checks at the same time). We lock anything valuable (electronics, money, travel documents) in the safe. Our clothing is pretty much left in the open or in the drawers but nothing went missing.

While it's possible housekeeping stole them, I think it's more likely that a passerby slipped into the room while housekeeping had the door open.

Sorry, still housekeeping responsibility to keep the room secure while cleaning it. If they are going to prop a door to my room open while I’m not there, it’s their responsibility if someone sneaks in and steal something. I also have to disagree that it would be easier for someone to slip in and risk someone coming in while they are rummaging through someone’s stuff, than a housekeeper who has access and a reason to be there to steal something.
