Harry Potter dining/touring question

We are basically going to Universal for Harry Potter, lol. What Harry Potter themed restaurants should we go to for lunch? Dinner? Do they take reservations or are they all counter service?

They are both counter service.

Have a look at the menus in the food sticky for both restaurants and see what you like to eat.

We ate at the Leaky Cauldron last week. You wait in line and are directed to a register to order. After your order is taken you are given a candle that allows them to locate your group table and you are escorted to a table.

They have platters showing what each item looks like. The fish and chips were large enough (three pieces of dish) for my wife and I to share. (That, a butter beer and a gilly water was enough to use the quick service dining plan for one. It cost a couple of dollars less and we got a free pumpkin juice as a snack.)

We were there around 11:20 or so and the wait was not too long.

If you will be there for 2 meals, definitely eat at both The Leaky Cauldron and The Three Broomsticks. The theming is great at both. If you want a good table service, Mythos is excellent, and the theming is unreal, though not Potter.

For snacks, be sure to try the Butterbeer ice cream from Florean Fortescue's (Diagon Alley) and a cauldron cake from Honeydukes (Hogsmeade).

We just got back and we really enjoyed the family feast at Three Broomsticks. Large family style salad, ribs, chicken, steamed veggies, roast corn on the cob and potatoes. It was a great meal and so was our meal at Mytho's. Did not like the food at Leaky Caldron as well as Three Broomsticks. .
