Day 2 – Boxing Day
Well 3.40am comes and the phone on the side of the bed is ringing – there is someone at the door with Mom’s bag, I know they said it would be late but that is ridiculous! I got up to let them in with it and isgned the papers. Then I couldn’t get back to sleep. The kids woke at 4.30 anyway so everyone was bathed and dressed by about 6am. Then we went back to bed for a nap! We slept in then till about 10.30 which was nice. Shelby was sleeping with me as we were worried that she would let herself out of the room that she should have been in – we plan to put the bed in to our room so that DH can move in as he is out in the room that Shelby should have been in with Harley – if that makes sense!
Today we had planned to go down to the Walmart at the bottom of Bass Road and grab the essentials, and have a wander round there. We also grabbed a McDonalds which was fab! Mom thought it was hilarious that they automatically served my dad to a Seniors coffee!
After about an hour of walking round the Walmart the kids were bored so Dad and I took them back to the car while everyone else finished off and paid for the food. The sun was blazing and we sat quite happily in the car in the sun. Harley decided that this was a great opportunity for a sleep!
The others joined us and we headed back to the house for a swim. By this time Harley was awake and he was to go for his first swim in the pool! He was also a bit peckish so he had a rusk while floating in his ring!
Shelby floated round as well and I had a cup of tea.
Mom and I took Shelby out for a walk round the neighbourhood, we found some swings and a little kids play area, Shelby had a swing for a bit then we headed back to the house.
We had decided to head out to EPCOT for a bit tonight and have a wander round there.
We went out at about 4pm and headed straight for the tree lighting ceremony so that Shelby could see Mickey and Minnie.
It was really nice, lots of jolly music from around the world. A strange song from Norway though – something about rinsing out our clothes!
We went over to The Seas and we went on the Nemo ride, which everyone enjoyed. We spent a while looking round the seas and did Turtle Talk with Crush, Shelby wasn’t keen on sitting still for that though.
Next we went to the Electric Umbrella for something to eat. I had a hot dog, everyone else had chicken sandwiches, Shelby stole some of mine and Harley had an American jar! Yum! Before we had finished eating both kids were asleep so we decided to have a slow walk round some of the shops and then make our way home for an early night.
Harley obviously found it all too much!
We were amazed how crowded everything was, even though I had read the guidebooks and stuff nothing actually prepares you for the amount of people that you will be encountering!
Tomorrow it’s Animal Kingdom
