Sooooo, does this mean there may still be a dessert party for Villainous WoC? Or is that definitely out? Don’t really want to want to spend party time at a dining reservation. Maybe I’m confused.
I’m hoping so. Maybe Disney is late doing everything. I made a dining reservation for the parade just in case.

Also, if we aren’t allowed to have pics of other accounts, please delete. I put this pic since I know we are all anxiously awaiting more info on these.

Hmmmm... since the DCA parade route is so long, I don't think getting good spots will be much of a problem. It certainly wasn't a problem for PTN. But I wish there were a definite answer about WOC -- I would pay for that package!

OK. Since there's apparently no Villainous WoC Dining Package or even FP I'm hoping that means maybe the parties won't be crazy packed? Maybe? Also, I'm gonna say that "no dining package" doesn't totally 100% mean no dessert party, right? Right? Since the dessert party isn't "dining" in the usual sense? That's probably wishful thinking, though.

I agree on both counts!

Even when the parade was at DL on a sell-out night I could get good spots about 15 min before the parades. With DCA’s route being longer AND no parties selling out yet, I’d be hesitant to book this package for the viewing alone. I mean, the food at WCT is good and I don’t think $50 for 3 courses is a bad deal (plus kids get the popcorn bucket), but I still won’t bother.

For WoC, I am worried about that a bit. I don’t want to have to camp out for a lot of the party, especially with all the new things to see!

AND no parties selling out yet
Most of the parties are sold out.

I agree that I’m much more concerned about WOC viewing than parade viewing, though.

I also don’t understand at all why they’d leave money on the table by not having an upcharge for WOC viewing. It makes no sense. All we’re hearing about is budget cuts, budget cuts, budget cuts... why not make money off of WOC viewing rather than cutting something? I don’t get it.

I would much rather spend my money on a WoC dessert party or even dining package. If they don't offer one I may just cancel my parade package. I've never seen a parade at DCA, but it sounds like it's not all that difficult to get a spot. I do really want to see the parade, but I don't think I'm willing to spend all that time at a restaurant. Especially considering I think we'll only make it to 10pm or so, even with a good mid day nap for DD.

The DCA parade route is almost a mile long from start to finish -- it is not difficult to find a good spot, especially if you look at the less obvious areas like Hollywood Blvd. or the corner by GSS.

Awesome! Thank you!! I will definitely look at the route and those two locations.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
my son’s favorite movie is nightmare before Christmas and it’ll be showing when we are there on our mommy & me trip. We will have a car 1 night, now to figure out how to fit it in...

This is a Halloween season tradition for us! You're going to have so much fun! There is usually a little exhibit downstairs in the theatre with props from the movie, so be sure to check while you are there.
Across the street from the El Capitan is the Hollywood & Highland shopping center where you can see the Dolby Theatre (home of the Academy Awards ceremony), the Hollywood sign (photo op on an upper level), Chinese Theatre next door, Walk of Fame out front (in front of the El Capitan and the H&H center), etc. Sometimes El Capitan tickets have a coupon for $1 off a sundae at Ghirardelli next door. Have a great time!

Thanks! I haven’t been in that area since 2007 and I think it was the Kodak theatre? Maybe I’m making that up. I remember vague things. I didn’t realize there was a Hollywood sign photo op there either so thanks, that’s on his list along with just a general “Hollywood” stop haha.
I got tickets for 7pm on the 14th and will just head that way after we get the rental and start ticking things off his list before the movie! I think I’m going to keep it a secret from him until we get there. We land at 230 at SNA so I think we’ll have plenty of time. :) He will love it if there are props and things.
I rented a car the first night since we have tickets for Waltland on Sunday, I wanted to be closer to where it leaves from than Anaheim. Then Disneyland and Oogie Boogie Bash Monday-Friday.

Well I think the lack of dining packages pretty much told me that I won't be trying to see WOC on Halloween (my only party night). Other stuff I want to do and as much as I want to see it I think with my other plans and probably not being able to get into the park until 5 (doc at 3 and I need to swing by my hotel which isn't near Disney due to other plans for the weekend to change into costume possibly (I'm on the fence on whether or not I'm going to do Captain America ish outfit or Sailor Neptune cosplay and if I do the later I have to go back to the hotel to change since 1) it may involve a wig and 2) I really do not feel like explaining to a new doctor why I'm walking around in a sailor senshi costume)). So I'm out of seeing WOC.

Sucks because I kind of wanted to see it. But I don't want to lose that much time staking out a spot for the show.

It was the Kodak, but now it's the Dolby. Your trip sounds like so much fun!

You'll have plenty of time to read all the reviews and reports from other people who attend the earlier parties to find out what the deal is with WOC on party nights. And based on all those reports, you'll have plenty of time to come up with a plan if you decide you want to try to see the show. It may be more doable than you're thinking. We just can't know until the parties start and the reports start rolling in here. Don't give up just yet -- wait and see what other people do and what advice they give on seeing the show.

HALLOWEEN SCREAMS WITH FIREWORKS SCHEDULE IS UP!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Yay! Thanks for posting this!

Still not posting any times for regular WOC on non-party nights when we’re there in early Oct. Are we thinking they’re just running the party version and skipping it the other nights? I thought I’d read somewhere that they’d still be running the regular version.

There is a regular WOC on Wed, Sept 25 at 8:15pm, so fingers crossed that no regular WOC after that is just the *anything after Sept 29* delayed posting challenge we've seen.
