You can put DW and myself down for this cruise. We did the DVC members cruise this year and were planning to do the 2006 trip. But with no ports of call other then two stops at CC and the spa being closed during the trip we decided to take a pass. So we were trying to decide on maybe doing a 3 or 4 night cruise and couldn't decide so we added the days together and decided on a 7 night. See ya all!

Hi rad and welcome,
Do you have any kids???

What things can you tell us about cruising with disney in the past....

We decided to go see Chicken Little today also! Today is Kylie's 6th birthday! We are going to meet dh for lunch, then the kids and I will see Chicken Little. This evening, we are meeting my parents and grandma for dinner to celebrate her birthday together. No cooking today, YEAH!!!! Might as well be MY birthday!

I was having a hard time last night when I went to bed, looking at my little baby that is now 6 years old. It doesn't seem possible. She has grown so much this year. She learned to ride a 2 wheel bike in the early summer, then learned how to tie her shoe in late summer, and has recently lost all 4 of her front teeth. How do I stop this?

Happy birthday from us to her....I hear you I wish I could sometime stop time and remember every thing that the kids have ever said or done...goes by way too fast...

Time. It is one of the most difficult things for moms. As girls we dream of getting married and having babies. When we do we are so caught up with diapers and bottles and every day life that one day we turn around and our babies are grown. Especially the youngest. In our heads we may or may not acknowledge that it's our last baby. The last baby represents so much to us. It's our last of many firsts. It can be very depressing. I watch Cameron growing and tell myself you can have another................deep down I know that will never happen but it sometimes eases the discomfort of watching my baby boy become a big boy and in turn someday a man. Luckily Cam is a very young 7 year old. He only lost 1 tooth so far and still loves cartoons and kiddie stuff. I know those days are getting shorter. It makes me sad as well. I also have days where I can look on the other side and try to embrace all the things I can do with them now that they are older. Olivia loves to get her nails done and watch romantic comedy movies with me. I can have more conversations with her rather than constant instruction.

Kiss her happy birhday. Take lots of pictures and drink in the day as another fabulous memory to tuck away and recall for the day she becomes a teen ager!! She is still a baby. 6 is the sweetest of ages.
A hug from me to you!
Jen

Well said Jen,,,

Hey he is firing everyone and what was with Judd on survivor..Did you hear that this year is Jeff Probt's last season???

Looks like we had a ton of action here today gone one day with a birthday party, lunch with Dh, playgroup, and a tastfully simple party tonight and I miss it all...

Just wanted to stop by and say hi and welcome to Rachel and Rad. Rachel it looks and sounds like you had a great group on your recent cruise. We have cruised with Beano and Tim twice before and they are a lot of fun.

Supposed to be sunny and 80 this weekend so I am going to start on the Christmas lights. I like to turn them on Thanksgiving night and it takes me 3 days to set it up. Actually 2 days to set up and 1 day trying to figure out how to get everything plugged in.

Kelly got her gymnastics competition schedule and we have 2 meets in Orlando ( 1 is at Disney) one in Colorodo Springs and one is in Charleston, SC so we are planning those trips now. Once gymnastics is over than we only have 2 months to wait until the May cruise.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Dave

Dave,
Missed you...
Sounds like you will have a busy time with gymnastics and all..when will you be in orlando...
good to hear from you....

Our kid is 29 years old, married with a 6 month old child :)

DW did a carnival cruise a number of years ago and we both did the DVC members cruise on the Wonder this September, that's been it. Just looking forward to a nice quiet relaxing 7 days.

Since we're on the boat during Halloweeen do you know if kids go cabin to cabin doing trick or treat?

We all have heard that they do some kind of trickor treating but from what we have heard not room to room..
We were thinking that the little dis group could organize a trick or treat to allof each others rooms this would be fun and easy to plan ahead of time..
How exciting a grand baby....
We all have talked about dressing up for the cruise...

where is yur home resort we are Dvc members as well...
great to meet you...

Princess & Kritter,
Thanks for your kind words....I know you can both relate. No one said motherhood would be an easy road without heartache, right?

Kritter, were did you hear that this is Jeff's last season on Survivor? That would be horrible! I was sooooo glad that Gary found the immunity idol. That shocked all of them. Sorry to see Bobby Jon go, though. I think he got cuter each week.....the scruffy look really works for him.

Princess and Buckifan,
It is nice to be able to talk to other moms who know what you are going through...A bunch of friends were talking the other day at play group and one mom told a story of a friend who is a corporate women with no kids and she said I can not believe that you do PTo, b-day parties, etc.. and plan all this stuff for kids and do not get paid it is hardly worth it...well she could not be totally wrong.. I would give up anything to be able to be home forever for my kids...As much work as it is no job could pay me enough to be away from them...I waited three years to have these kids..(fertitilty problems)... and they are so worth it....they grow way to fast....

We heard it on the E channel it was at the bottom at the ticker.....
I thought bobby jon was mean talking about steph.. he should have had some loyalty to her since it was just him and her....last time....Can not stand to look at Danny she is way to skinny....Gary seems like he is talking funny like his lips are swollen or something....

Got to get back to painting my hands are a mess....

Don't know if DW and I would do costume for the cruise or not, maybe too many clothes to take already?

Nice to meet another DVC member out there, did you do the members cruise this past September, it was a blast. Too bad this years doesn't interest us. We own at BWV, joined in 1999 (should have done it earlier) and have added on there three times since then. Not sure yet if we'll pop over to WDW for a few days after the cruise yet or not. I'd like to (as long as we're only 90 minutes away) but DW isn't sure.

It will be fun my parents are coming with us on the cruise as well and they are going to pack really easy costumes...so they do not have to much more to carry...

Never done the member cruise would like to some time...Aren't they usually only three or four day cruises?? I think that is too short of a cruise for us...we have only been members for three years now...SSR and we love it wish we had joined sooner...Hoping to be able to add on soon...I think we will be going to WDW for five or six days before the cruise then the vacation will almost be two weeks...the twins love WDW and so do we...How many times have you doen the memeber cruise???
have a great night...

DW and I have only done one members cruise (9/2005). Yep, it's only a 4 day cruise but it was a very fun 4 days. Everyone had a "Welcome Home Member" magnetic door sign on their rooms when we got on the ship. Inside there was a special gift basket with a bunch of Disney stuff from a nice drawing pad/book to a nice Mickey wind up alarm clock. Then every night when you got back from dinner there was another special gift, they treated us very nice. There was also a bunch of special presentations, the mainliner being Art Linkletter giving two shows talking mostly about his life but some about Walt Disney. The VP of DVC was also there giving two presentations, a WDI (imagineer) VP that's working on Expedition Everest was there and showed a bunch of 'behind the scenes' construction pictures.

We were really planning to do it again this year but with the spa being closed and only Castaway Cay (visited twice) for the port we didn't feel that it was worth it to us this time, maybe next time.

A harty welcome to Rachel & her husband (or boyfriend) Rad. If a boyfriend we're good to keep it quiet! :cool1: Heh-hee-heeh.... for a price. We'll settle in advance with a proposed 3 gold foil chocolate coins from the pirate nite treasure chest. Hows that for a deal, eh?

And to Buckifan.... we'd like to offer a gentle "happy Birthday" wish to the general hoop-la!

And have we all given up on guessing the costume thing? heh-hee-heee!? :goodvibes

yes or no questions are invited followed by one guess. Each screen id gets 3 guesses and 3 questions.

Winner gets .... braggin' rights from now til the morning after a successful guess! Or - it's OK to hoot about it as long as desired.

And on the corp Mom having less than flattering remarks on parenting rituals like PFO (or in our neighborhood - its' the PFA), party palnning and community involvemement to enable events for our kids .... I have to echo defensive sympathy for this peanut gallery "critic".

By the same token I can also say that when we were childless and just hammering away at business we were simply clueless as to the world where kids coexist. And now that we have kids we must say we are only too pleased to put family (among many many other things) ahead of work. Now - being gainfully employed (or at least solvent) is also high on our list - otherwise we would not be sailing on the Magic as often as we do - and we do try to strike a balance between keeping our banker happy with us as well as ensuring our kids come home from school with no new bruises!

So - to sort of summarize - I'd like to say that we are having just too much fun and just lovin' the routine of mild sacrifice and daily crisis and backflips in raising our kids. I'm a stay at home self employed sort who IS taking a hit to do it. Fortunately, my spouse likes her job too (barely enough to not complain more than me) - and we get by. But we think we have our kids set on a pretty high priority - and we try to do ur besyt most of the time - that's why we choose the DCL thing as one of our major trips as opposed to less family friendly pursuits.... BUT then again - we all just do the best we can - and to each their own eh?

OK - so much for the adage - less is more?

TTFN - and no more y/n Qs or costume guesses? :confused3

Crah- Both Kritter and I ventured a for a yes or no response. Kritter asked if they are Star Wars related. I asked a more general are your costumes from an action/sci fi movie.

As to Jeff Probst, I heard him last week say he isn't saying he won't be back again. He is involved deeply with Julie so that may be a big consideration. I also heard that a well liked ex castaway (woman) may be up for the job. I wonder who?

Sounds like the memeber cruise is fun and well worth it for all of the great things that they give you...sounds like it was very interesting and fun....
Why is the spa being closed this time around???

Who do you think it will be an ex castaway...who could that be????I wonder how serious him and Julie really are...???

Hey what do you think will happen tonight on the shows???

I got my whole bonus room painted and redeocrated yesterday soo proud of myself but i sure was tired..I told Dh it was nothing like trading spaces since it was a solo job for me.....wish I had tons of people helping me would have gone faster took me till 11 last night to get it all done....UGH!!!!!!!!!!!

From what I've been able to find out, the Wonder is going into dry dock for the first two weeks of October, they're basically going to do many of the changes that the Magic just got during its dry dock. One of those changes is a revamp of the spa area, but that takes a total of four weeks to complete, so the first two weeks of cruises after dry dock won't have the spa. Since the spa is one of the major things the wife looks forward to doing it was the #1 reason for taking a pass on this cruise.

That sounds like it mught deter others from curising as well since they will not have a spa....not good that it will take this long....

That's funny. I'm glad you finished it. Good for you. We're doing over Olivia's room today. So annoying really. I went to to Bombay kids today and found nothing. I'm going to try pottery Barn teen. Not that she's even close to a teen but they have pretty cute things that she'd love. Any other ideas? Her color scheme is purple, green, and white.

I don't have a clue what is going to happen tonight. I wish that Gabrielle would start to show! I actually can't picture her with a baby so I'm wondering what's up there sleeve. Do we know for sure if it's Carlos baby? As far as Survivor I think it may be someone from early on. Season 2 or3. I'm sure if I googled enough sites we'd get the info!
