GAC Family:
Saturday, at 2pm & 4pm ET, they are airing two movies previously shown on some other network - maybe Lifetime, UPtv or Pixl.

Starting at 6pm ET, GAC will re-air 3 of their own movies. One from January: Harmony From the Heart, starring Jessica Lowndes & Jesse Metcalfe. Then two Christmas movies: A Christmas Miracle for Daisy starring Jill Wagner, and The Winter Palace starring Danica McKeller and Neal Bledsoe.

Watching Road trip Romance, anyone else?
I watched the re-airing of it today and I did not care for it. The stars are fine but the premise that "obstacles" kept them from reaching their destination was way too far-fetched to be believable.

I did however enjoy the Aimee Teegarden movie tonight.

I also watched this. I liked that it started out lighthearted and saw that the tone of it was going to be a bit farcical. But, I agree that the pile on of events was way to far-fetched and very unnecessary. :headache:

I even thought maybe Hallmark had bought a cheap script from new-ish writers. But, looking at the resumes of the two writers, they have written and produced some of the better Hallmark movies in the past. In fact the last two movies they did were for GAC. Maybe, the pressure of trying to write for both networks is just getting to them and making them burn out, or they didn't have the time to take a look and edit out the unbelievable details they piled on. :headache: :sad2:

I also thought, that while the Renaissance festival looked really pretty and detailed and was obviously used for the promos, that it was an absolute waste of money on all the props & costumes and extra actors. Hallmark should have used that money to buy a better script.

I did however enjoy the Aimee Teegarden movie tonight.

I didn't watch this. Too much sad and heavy stuff going on in the world right now. I need some light fluff to escape with, not more heavy, even Hallmark level (light but) heavy stuff to watch.

Instead I watched the re-run of a Ryan Paevey movie. Hallmark is gearing up for the premiere of his new movie next month. So they are starting to show some of his old movies. :lovestruc Don't Go Breaking My Heart will re-air on May 26 at 6pm ET. popcorn::

I’m on vacation this week so really soaking in the reviews. You guys are helping me decide what is worth my time when I get back. Farcical works but a heavy theme is not for me right now 🥰

Signed Sealed Delivered marathon today on Hallmark Movie and Mystery channel, I’m recording them all! I love reruns!

They are rerunning the episodes from the one-hour TV series, not the movies.

I just caught one of my favorite episodes. :lovestruc It's episode 6, "The Future Me." It's the story of a young couple who have down syndrome. During a high school assignment, the girl had written a letter a while back to her future self, where she is married to the boy.

But, in the present, her father has forbidden her to marry anyone, ever.

Oliver and the father are in a barn, talking about the couple. Oliver notices a large object and asks, "What's that?"

Father: "That's a yoke. It's, uh, like a harness that joins oxen or horses together. It equalizes the weight when they're pulling a plow or any kind of heavy load."

Later on in the episode, Oliver says, "Remember the yoke you showed us in that barn? What you said about pulling together, sharing the load? There's a song that I love... One of the lines was, "A man shall leave his mother and a woman leave her home They shall travel on to where the two shall be as one."

"I believe it works best when the two are equally yoked, Mr. Kempert. I believe Ellie and Bobby are..."

Boy: "Let's face it. We have a lot in common. [Quiet chuckle]

Father: "I really messed things up. Didn't I?"

Boy: [Laughs] Well, welcome to my world. [Chuckles]

Oliver: "There you are."

In the same episode, Andrea Brooks, who stars in tonight's movie on the Hallmark Channel, is in it. She plays a co-worker of Rita's, vying to win the title of Miss Postal Delivery over Rita.

Her character was so annoying. And I've seen that episode so many times, I wonder if I'm going to get the image of her being so annoying out of my mind to be able to watch the movie? :headache:

Justb posted this in the kindness thread and wanted to share here as well.

Dad and I finished watching Love On Harbor Island. As always, I loved, the quaint, picturesque Hallmark-movie family inn. I do, of course, prefer the Christmas inns 🌲Marcus was handsome and the dogs all adorable. Wow the scenery was just beautiful! So tranquil and pretty. It was a cute movie without much to it. Dad and I both wondered why Lily and Marcus didn't adopt one of the rescue dogs at the end. It seemed like the dog rescue aspect of the movie fizzled out as did the fact that Marcus was supposed to be a pilot who often transported rescued dogs to their new forever home. Dad said we never did see him fly a plane. We both enjoyed the lantern festival and said if we entered such a contest we'd somehow (no clue how we would do so) build a dog lantern and make its tail wag. We both did wonder why there was no dog lantern entered. I would have also enjoyed learning more about Aunt Maggie and Lily's past along with catching a glimpse of the Inn in the future. Maybe there will be a sequel :)

Wishing all of you a good Sunday! :)

Hallmark will have Christmas in July this year. :santa: 🎄:cheer2:

With so many changes to this "new Hallmark" I had wondered if they would be stupid enough to get rid of Christmas in July. Nice to see that isn't changing. :thumbsup2

Hallmark usually premieres one new Christmas movie during July. This year it will be a movie starring Kevin McGarry. The movie is called My Grown-Up Christmas List.

Kevin is in a real-life relationship with Hallmark actress Kayla Wallace. Hallmark is making use of their real-life relationship as Kayla stars with him in this movie too. They starred together in Feeling Butterflies back in March. And they are on When Calls the Heart together, although they aren't a couple in that show.

You know... I didn't think they had any chemistry in that movie, I hope this one is a better fit for them.

I thought the same thing. I was excited when I saw he was going to be in a new movie. Then disappointed when I saw it was going to be with her. I also hope they are better in this one.

Otherwise, Hallmark should hang it up, using these two together. Not all real-life couples who are actors act together. Plus, it's a waste of Kevin McGarry, when we know he has done some good romantic roles in the past.

I was just looking at Hallmark's schedule for the rest of the week. Is Hearts of Winter the movie where the daughter wins a contest to have an interior designer come to her (sand her father's) home? I do remember thinking such a movie ended up being sweet but am not sure if this was it. Also, what did all of you think of Coyote Creek Christmas?

Yes, it was sweet. It's with Jill Wagner, who they make play an interior designer, over and over. But, she does it well and her movies are sweet.

Also, what did all of you think of Coyote Creek Christmas?

Oh NO!

This was exactly another movie I was thinking of when writing my last post, when I said putting Kevin McGarry in a movie with a bad actress is such a waste. Only, it wasn't Kevin McGarry, the wasted actor that time was Ryan Paevey. :badpc:

I was sooo looking forward to that movie. But they paired him up with Janel (Somebody), who I thought acted like a hideous shrew. :scared: She was so FURIOUS all the time. :furious: Ryan's character was apologizing to her over and over for something he shouldn't even had to apologize for. The actress doesn't seem to have the understanding that the female romantic lead is supposed to have some softness and be LIKEABLE. For instance, if Jill Wagner played the role, she would have played upset and hurt, instead of an angry shrew. I would have had sympathy for her. Janel ruined the whole movie for me and I can't watch it again, even just for Ryan. That really pissed me off. All I was thinking was, "RUN RYAN! RUN!"

Maybe die-hard Ryan Paevey fans can still watch it. Not me.
