Quick lunchtime post. Very busy at work. Leaving tonight for a week at the cottage.

Connie,Are things are starting to settle down so you can find time for yourself?

Lynn, Pixie dust for your knee. Hope you get your results soon.

Vicky, 10 weeks to Scotia. :scared:

Have a great weekend everyone. Enjoy your training.........Sue

Hi All,

Sorry I've been MIA. I've officially moved into my apartment in Mississippi, but it involved basically taking a week off! I managed to get in 3 miles yesterday and today and plan to do a 5k tomorrow (we'll see how bad that week off makes it).

Best,
Jennifer

Happy House Warming! party:

We just got back from my son's orientation at Rensselaer. what a relief. no runs but plenty of walking.
Work seemed to pile up in three days. This weekend is the Ocean State Reggae fest Sat & Sun. Nice weather predicted.... we'll be busy :cool2: I'm sure
. :beach:
Happy & Safe Weekend everyone!

Jack

Good evening!

Hope your knee is better today, Lynn. Staying still in an MRI is really hard!

Jennifer, happy house warming.

Hey Jack, enjoy some of that festival!

Sue! Good to hear from you. I have most of the kids settled. The new adopted one (DN) will take lots more time!

Everyone else  It's up to all of you to keep this thread going for the next 10 days. We have to go put DBIL's ashes in the resting place he has chosen. I won't have a computer for the 5 or 6 days for sure!

Y'all do good! See ya! Connie

Good Morning, Team! :wave2:

Captain Connie never fear you have trained us well. I think your Team are very good, active posters. ::yes::

Connie, you will be in our thoughts & prayers. :grouphug:

Jennifer, Hummm in my thoughts moving is NOT considered 'taking a week off.' Do you have nice places to do your running? I hope you meet others that have the same love of running like you do!

Looks like we are going to have a cooler perfect day for a walk. So my little Hagen and I are planning to get out as soon as we have his mommy taken care of.

Have a great weekend-Connie, Eva, Jack, Jennifer, Jen, Jesters, Kathy, Kim, MaryJ, Sue, Jill, Teresa, Vicky, And Dave & Erica, Denise & Mark, Scott & Lynn,

Jennifer, have fun moving in and remember it well as ya get older and collect more stuff, you will wish for those easy move days:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Jack Festival sounds great. We just have Country Stuff here in Cheyenne for Frontire Days.

Long day yesterday getting ready to open the Tiki Bar.

Lynn can fill ya in on here knee, looks like she may have to put off the DL 1/2, I think she can forward her registration fee, or something like that.

I was stupid yesterday and picked up the Tiki bar and moved it by myself, back is a pinch sore today...

Relaxing this morn and watching The Tour..

Later kids we got a little cleaning up to do.

Good thoughts to one and all

Scott~ I'll trade Reggae for country any day! Guys are working doubles for the day. I'll stop by to check on things but other than that I'll stay on the farm.... cut the grass, I use my MP3 under the hearing protectors, and enjoy the warm weather, thunder clouds later, I enjoy that too.
DS 14 washed his cellphone and can't figure why it won't work.:confused3
Lynn~ :grouphug: hoping for the best in your tests.... No Worries!
Scott~ I see the bar is set up with all the fixin's, that should ease your back pain
:woohoo:

Margie, there are some gorgeous running routes in my new town and it is definitely a runner friendly area as I constantly saw people out. There's also a "big" 10k in September.

Connie and Jack, Thanks! It's my first time in my own place and that's exciting on its own.

My race this morning went pretty well; although I'm having a Kara Goucher in Boston moment and beating myself up about how I could have won it. I finished third in my age group (it was a fast race) by less than 30 seconds (behind the first place winner) and missed my PR by less than 10 seconds (I ran a 23:57). On the bright side, I know I wasn't in peak condition and I've been training for longer races. The until the last .25 mile the 2nd place girl and I were neck and neck, at the 3 mile mark she started kicking, I just couldn't counter.

Best,
Jennifer

Good Evening Team!

Jennifer - sounds like you are in a good area! Glad your move went smoothly - (I assume it went smoothly - did not see any complaints or horror stories) - and glad to see you are in a runner friendly area!

Connie - have a good trip!

I got the results of the MRI yesterday - along with the basic runner's knee problems, and degeneration caused by age - I have a bone spur digging into my meniscus - which may or may not be torn. So - I am headed for knee surgery on August 20th to clean up bone spur, repair meniscus if necessary, and clean up the damage caused by the runners knee and degeneration. It will be orthoscopic surgery, but only 2 weeks before the DL half - it doesn't look good for enough recovery to do the 13 miles. I am supposed to get my legs in as good condition as I can before surgery, so I will keep up my walks and weight routines. I should be in good shape for the WDW 1/2 Marathon next Jan!

Have a great day all!

Lynn~ Thats good news! Still on for WDW???

Morning All,

Went for a bike ride this morning. I took the Pokka Dot and Green Jersey and Lynn got the Yellow. I thought I had a puncture and she slipped ahead.

French Toast fro Breakfast and Bahamian Rice and Peas with chicken for dinner

Jack I think Lynn will really be glad she is getting her knees taken care of, I have had both of mine done (same day) and the recovery was really short, like two days. I was lucky. Lynn will enjoy no pain.

I think we can divert her DL 1/2 registration for the next year. I hope.

I think I just needed a day off. On Friday I wanted to Flush My cell phone....

Time to watch the tour...

Have a great one.

Oh Hey anybody have any advise about hitch type bike racks????

Hey Vicky.....nope we will be on the scream team. DS Kevin, I think you met him at last years Scotia, he is doing his first full marathon and Mike and I decided to be at the finish line to support him.

Did you end up signing up for Mid summer nights run??? It would be great to see you and Nathan there!!!!

Heel is doing ok, not 100% but it is allowing me to train :)

Hey everyone....sorry busy week so didn't get a chance to check in.

Hope everyone is doing great!!!!

Hi Team! :wave2:

What a Day!
Getting ready for church -
DSIL decides he needed to go to ER -
About 45 minutes later DD had the shaked and vomiting - called 911 to take her to ER-
The two of them met up in ER -
It was 2:pm before everyone was back home- :sad2:
It seems like it's been a long-long time since all of this started right after Memorial Day.

I did 3.5 miles tonight then came back to get my little Hagen (& stroller) to do another slow cool down mile. He loves to walk with me. It was more of a stress reliever than training :upsidedow

Connie-:grouphug:

Lynn- it is wonderful they finally know the cause for all your knee problems & pain. And they can fix it! :flower3:

Scott & Lynn- I have the Saris 3 bones trunk mount bike rack - I do like it and it is easy to use. BUT I do not like the fact I cannot get into the trunk with out taking everything off the car! :headache:

Hi team! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a new mattress delivered on Saturday so I had a nice ache-free sleep last night ... ahhh!!! :upsidedow I also weighed myself on Friday and despite eating out so much last week, I managed to lose 3.1 pounds. I can't help but think it's a fluke. But it still really made me happy and even more determined to keep it off for this week.

Sue - Does that mean only 10 weeks more of "summer"? How's your training going? Are you doing back to back LRs up to Scotia or will you start doing that afterward?

Kim - Yes, I remember Kevin! What a cutie! :) Good for him for doing a marathon! You know I mailed in my registration for the Midsummer's Night Run about a month ago and I'm glad you reminded me because my credit card hasn't been charged yet :confused3 I'll have to check in with them and see what's going on. Good to hear you're still able to train. Did you find out what was wrong with your heel?

Scott - Love the Tiki Bar!! Btw, you don't have to be old to accumulate a lot of stuff. I am unfortunately a huge pack rat :headache:

Lynn - I'm glad the doctors figured out what's wrong with your knee and that they'll be able to fix it. I'm happy to hear that you'll still be able to do the WDW 1/2 :)

Margie - Sorry to hear about DD. Sending you some pixiedust:

Jennifer - Congrats on your race! :cheer2: You should come up and run some of the 5K races in Toronto. I think you'd definitely place up here :)

Dave/Erica - :wave2:

That's all for me! Have a great night everyone!

Vicky, be careful I might take you up on that offer.

I forgot to mention the race was big for this area and there were over 20 people in my age group.

I did 9 miles in 75 minutes this evening.

Best,
Jennifer

Good morning y'all.

It's a cool and cloudy day here in Southern Ky. I'm heading out for a 5 miler but first I'm going to look at some Kia spectras I may trade the jeep in on the cash for clunkers program and get that for DD to drive the old jeep she is driving is not baby worthy at all.

All our princesses:hug:

Have an awesome day y'all.

Dave

Congrats Vicky on the 3.1 pds!!!!

Are you doing the 30 or 15K??? Kevin is doing the 30K Mike and I are doing the 15K maybe we can have a drink together after.

How the team doing today???

Good Morning Team!

I see that my post from yesterday did not post - I was having problems around that time getting thrown out of the system.

Vicki - congrats on the weight loss! I am expecting my new bed today - I hope it really makes a difference - we will see.

The dogs and I got in our 3 mile walk this morning - Scott and I did a 6 mile bike ride yesterday (I know, that is not much for you bike riders, but it was Scott's first bike ride of the year, and my longest so far for the year). The bike ride did not hurt my knee as much as walking does, I may put in more miles on the bike. I will get to my weight routine later today also!

Have a great day team!

Well, I did it!

I am now officially registered for my first full marathon. Memphis in December!

Best,
Jennifer
