Hakuna Matata Hearts and flowers!

:stitch2: Monday Mixers w/ Team 'Ohana :stitch2:

I thought I'd let Hakuna Matata know that Team 'Ohana is inviting their WISH family to come visit its thread on Mondays. We thought this would be a good way for people on the teams/threads to get to know other WISHers better. Plus, 'Ohana like to think we know how to throw a party and we always like new guests! The drinks are free, if virtual, and no one will tell you when you've had enough. :upsidedow

I'll post a reminder on Monday, with a loose question/discussion topic to get the conversations going. There's no need to stick to the topic, of course, as it's really your sparking, non-alcoholic but still intoxicating presence that is requested. So, if you have a little time for socializing with your cousins, please stop by 'Ohana on Monday! :goodvibes

Denise, I'm sorry to hear you are feeling puny. Erica had a stomach bug and lost 10 lbs from not being able to keep anything down. She is better now.

I had an hour of pool running this morning, kinda neat to have a good hard workout in a heated pool when it's 20 degrees out. I was chilled for a while after I got finished and had to go marketing.

Yes winter has been a drag this year. I'm ready for spring, I can only imagine how wonderful it will be to be outside in the WARM sun again.

Margie, the time in motion is what matters.

Dave:hippie:

Oh how awful, not a good way to lose weight. Hope she's right as rain soon. Seems if I remember correctly she has a Goofy to train for!

I'm IN, what a cool idea, can always use a laugh and a drink on Mondays (and Tuesday, and Wednesdays, and Thursdays....) :woohoo::banana: :woohoo:

Sue - I did not get the job at AAA, so I am back to the census, I start training in Colorado next Thursday, I get to drive down to Greeley Thurs, Fri, and then Mon-Thurs. After that, I guess I will know my schedule.

Dave - glad to hear that Erica is feeling better! I think I knew that, but it is still good to hear!

Denise - hope your headache is better - I used to be plagued with headaches, but never for a week at a time! Acupuncture cured my headaches, and I have not had many at all even in the last 2 years, now that I no longer live near my acupuncturist.

Debra - just remind us on Monday, I would love to visit, I just don't think about it very often!

It was really windy here all day - right now it is blowing snow around! Temp has dropped from almost 40 earlier to about 15 now! TV is saying wind chill is -1, my weather station is saying -12:scared1: I did not do anything today - but if I added all the walking I did while shopping today, I bet it would have been significant. At least the weekend should be nice, and I can make up for today.

Good Morning Team!

Jack - hope you had a successful trip! Let us know what the decision is!

Well we're holding a family meeting Sunday, everyone gets a vote and each vote counts. Pros & Cons we'll see what happens. I am abstaining as I don't want to bias anyone's vote...
it is quite a dilemma, believe me.
My wife and oldest son thought it was beautiful country, long roads. The folks we met and visited with were polite, kind and genuine.
I'll let you know, thanks for asking..

Good Morning Team!

Jack - good luck with your decision!

It is nice here today - looking forward to getting out today for a good walk!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning team.

Connie:flower3: Here are my totals for the week, I have 21 miles and 8 hours of training.:dance3:

Lynn, have a fun time with your pups, I know all of you will like the warmer spell. Hope your knee behaves.

Margie, is it still the great white north up there.

Denise, I hope you find your MoJo soon.

Debra, beware, Evil Panda may come calling on Monday.

Everyone have a super weekend.

Happy panda:hippie:

Yes Jack, good luck on the decission, Wyoming is a great state and the people are great.

I survived, mentally, the week barely; we are going through some major transitions in my office with some very far reaching implications. The next 4-6 weeks will be a hand and head full. I am glad to have a good job.

Sunny and no wind yet, looking at the low 40’s for a high. Need to get out for a run or walk.

Dave great training numbers, the 16 hour days are getting to me.

Hi TEAM! :wave2:

:hippie: Yes, Michigan is having a blustery wintry kind of day. Still under the Winter Storm Warning with high winds, & heavy snow accumulation expected. :upsidedow

Connie, I will PM my totals tonight - heading to the gym now and will try to do the DM later.

Jack, You & your family will be in our thoughts and prayers

Scott, hope you are getting some R & R this weekend! :upsidedow

pixiedust: pixiedust: to all in our Team who are struggling, ill, and recovering! pixiedust: pixiedust:

Hypothetically, a hangover from your friend's sorority party will slow down your running a bit

I managed to get in 3 miles in 26 minutes. Now I'm off to write a paper. ugh.

Connie,

Here are my times for this week.

Training: 1.5 hours
Walking/Running: 1 hour 53 minutes
5.25 miles

My posting may be hit or miss for the next two weeks. My daughter (age 28) is having open heart surgery to repair a heart defect that she was born with and a complication that has developed due to the defect. I will be leaving tomorrow to go to Indianapolis where the surgery will take place. I will be staying with her when she comes home from the hospital as she can't do ANY lifting for quite some time. If you would like to know more, you can read about her at: www.caringbridge.com/visit/annablankenbaker

She said I could use her YMCA membership while she is recovering, so hopefully I'll get some workout time there.

:grouphug: In our thoughts

Mary pixiedust: pixiedust: and :grouphug: :grouphug: for you and your daughter!

We have been total slugs today, we did go to a lecture on feeding wild birds this morning, when we got back, the wind had picked up, so we just did a short loop with the dogs, Scott is enjoying doing "nothing".

Hi TEAM! :wave2:

Mary- You are in our thoughts and prayers - if you share the time of surgery I will be praying for her, the doctors, and family. :grouphug:

Scott & Lynn - sounds like a wonderful day...glad you were able to enjoy. :upsidedow

Connie - to make it easier for you to track - I will PM my weekly time & hours as soon as I finish this ::yes::

Good Morning Team!

Scott just got back from his early morning run! Now we can have breakfast, since I do not walk well without food, I will take the dogs out after breakfast, and try to make up for 2 days of very little exercise!

Have a great day everyone!

Mary, our thoughts for sure. Thanks for sharing the web site a great inspiration.

Mary, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I did 6 miles in 50 minutes in the rain today. Of course it was just cloudy when I stepped out the door. :-P

Mary,

My thoughts are with you and your family during your DD's heart surgery. I wish her a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.

We invite you to visit Team 'Ohana for the Monday Mixer! Stop by anytime today (or anytime, really) and say hi. The mixer starts here on the 'Ohana thread.

Our loose topic for 'Ohana's first Monday Mixer is "What song made you laugh out loud the last time you heard it?"

Of course, you don't need to stick with that prompt. You can talk about the last thing that made you laugh out loud, period. Or the Oscars, Nascar, Pixar. Or the meaning of life, the universe and everything. (Although we over at 'Ohana already know the answer is 42. You'll learn to love our geekdom. :rolleyes1)
