Hakuna Matata Hearts and flowers!

Good Morning Team!

Just got off phone making reservations for our Jan stay at WDW for the marathon, and did not have enough points at home resort to finish it, will need to finish at 7 month window - and learned that we added wrong and will be short a few points for all our planned vacations:scared1: , so we need to rethink some of them. What fun!

It is getting cloudy here, but is supposed to be mostly sunny and warm here today. Good day for dog walk. I really paid yesterday for not exercising for the 2 previous days! I did get in a 6 mile walk yesterday, but my whole leg hurt - both of them! My knee bothered me all day yesterday. Will have to see what it is like today, need to get in both a walk and leg weight routine! That should teach me to blow off 2 days! Problem is that I don't learn well.

Time to go over to say hi to the O'Hana folks - have a great day team!

Good morning Hakuna Matata!

Now that DH is home more than at work, I am having problems keeping up with everything! Plus, I end up having to help out at the farm too. So, my goals are changing on a minute by minute basis!

I did get my 10 miler in and I am officially in taper. Although, I did get on the bike today.

So if I seem to have a bad case of taper madness....I really do!

I am praying for your daughter, Mary.

Hugs, Connie

Happy Monday team! I hope everyone had a great weekend! We had another dumping of snow... when will it end :) Part of me is glad that I'm not signed up for any races until May because I've found the city isn't doing a good job of keeping the sidewalks ice free. Or maybe I'm just noticing now that I'm a runner ...

I'm looking for a new pair of running shoes. I currently run in Asics Kayanos 14 but I think they're causing big toe pain in my right foot. I will go to a running store but just wondering if anyone has a preference for a stability shoe. I was thinking of New Balance but wondered what everyone else thought.

Mary - I'm keeping you and your daughter in my thoughts  Hoping she has a speedy recovery.

Margie - Well, now that you put it out there, I guess I have to actually start that scrapbook page! I was going to say finish but ... that's assuming I already started. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Lynn - I'm rethinking one of my WDW trips as well. I may stay at Pop for the first time. I figure it's better than not going at all.

Sue - I hope your job is safe. Lots of restructuring and reorganizing here too *sigh*. You wouldn't believe the departments that are being moved overseas.

Dave - Glad to hear Erica is feeling better!

Connie - Congrats on the 10 miler!! :cheer2:

Scott - Gotta love those "nothing" days!

Jenn - Speedy as always!

Eva - :wave2:

Debra - Off to visit your team!

Have a great day everyone!

I'm not sure what the woman's equivalent is but I like the Gel Foundations 8, I found them to have the support/stability that fits my needs and are comfortable. IMO

Vicky, Thanks! Also on shoes, I run in neutrals and have really high arches, so this probably won't help you other than possibly telling you if your headed down the wrong track. I'm currently running in Saucony rides, but Adidas work best for me particularly the Supernova and Boston.

Today was my 90 minute musical theatre dance class and I did an hour of strength training.

Hi Lynn, come over and visit with the Ohana's, they are having a party.

Party Panda:hippie:

Good Morning Team!

Dave - I stopped in by Ohana's team yesterday morning!

Yesterday I did get in 4 miles and a weight routine, today I am scheduled for 6 miles, it is windy, but it will get worse later, so I will get out as soon as the sun has come up, and I have had my coffee! Knee is better after some exercise!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning Lynn. How is ya princess?

I was looking at the point resale values this morning and they are much cheaper than they were in January. There are OKW points offered at $64 a point. There were even BCV for $80 a point, thats lower by about $10 a point than I saw in January. We still have two years till we will be in the buy zone, unless the points start rising again or if they get even lower we might start gathering sooner.

I have to work a 12 hr shift today so not much cyber fun time today.

Margie are you out of the snow and ice yet?

Everyone have an awesome day.

Happy Panda:hippie:

Good morning everyone! It's a sunny day here but super cold! Did my training session last night and my PT had me do a lot of plyometric exercises. Lots of fun and I enjoyed them more than doing weights. My arms and core are sore today though.

Jack - Funny, you recommended those shoes. I saw someone at the gym last night wearing them so I was asking how he liked them. He wasn't a runner so he didn't really know much about them.

Lynn/Jenn - Thanks for the recommendations! I will probably head over to the running store on Thursday to check things out :)

Dave - Is there a minimum number of DVC points you have to buy?

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning (already???) That thing we're not supposed to talk about wiped me out..... :woohoo: I did manage to get in my 4 miles yesterday afternoon. 10 min. miles so I was doing my own pace. slow and steady.....

Vicky on DVC points no min if you buy resale, don't recall the number if purchase from DVC.

Slow and steady is good.

Just dodged a subpoena to Fresno CA for next week.

Need to get a work out in tonight, hope the wind dies down.

Just wait until January and those virtual drinks turn real.... ;) I hear that the Panda parties pretty hard. Although not as hard as your fearless leader! :worship: Me, I'm looking forward to some social time with Hakuna Matata soon. After all, with you all, it's always no worries!

Good afternoon Team!

Did everyone enjoy O'Hanna's Mixer? I thought we would host one ourselves tomorrow! I thought we would call it an Ice Cream Social with interesting sprinkles!

I will be sending out invitations tonight. My question to them will be....What's your favorite recovery food and the second part of the question will be....which ice cream or treat do you prefer when recovering at WDW! I bet that brings some fun and intersting comments.

I am in taper and spending money. The good news, I am spending money for racing!

Off to fix supper! See ya!

Jship, I thought you Navy boys were tough when it came to those sort of things.

Connie, I love the idea of our own mixer.

I went for a 3.5 mile run in 29 minutes today and I noticed my shoes have hit almost 300 miles and are starting to wear a little. So it's almost time to go shoe shopping!!! My previous favorites were the Adidas Supernovas and I made the mistake of changing brands, so I'm definitely going back to Adidas but thinking I may try the Bostons instead of the Supernovas.

Best,
Jen

Jack - 10 m/m is slow? That's about how fast I go... I'm hoping to improve on that this year :)

Connie - Love the idea of a Hakuna Matata mixer! Mmmm... and ice cream too!

Scott - I regret not buying into DVC when our dollar was on par with the US. I think the exchange rate is pretty close to 30% now :(

Jen - Yay for shoe shopping!! How often do you need new shoes? My shoes are usually done around the 250 mile mark. I'm a stomper :upsidedow

Hi Everyone!

DVC at one time was a minimum of 150 points to start. I think it's still the same.

We had some snow and rain and more snow so it became a mess. We are just 50 min from Jennifer and the difference is amazing when it comes to weather.

My niece lives 20 min from us and has a long drive way with a hill. Both she and her DH and DS have the flu so after a long day Mark and I went to plow them out last night. The just didn;t have the strength or desire to snowblow that long drive. So no work out for Mark and I, as we went together. They live on a long country road. We told them to stay in the house we would take care of clearing the way - we don't want the flu!

Today I decided that even if it was 20 min I would do the ellip which I did 30  When I was done I check VM messages, my nephew(the brother to the niece above) and his DW and DS have the flu and were not able to physically clear the end of their driveway. Mark walked in the door and back out to come to their aid. I stayed home as I was a sweaty mess from the workout.

To say it's been a rough winter is an understatement. We are hopeful that we are on the downside of it. It's suppose to be 40+ on Friday with some rain so that will start the process of bringing down the piles of snow.

Mark and I are off to WDW on Monday for a few days together - thank goodness for DVC - as you can imagine with the economy today, we would not be going were it not for points, annual passes and Magical Express.

I missed that whole party thing yesterday because of the above and since I am unable to post from work, I don't have much time at home to do the same.

I do see your threads and posts because the email subscription is instant so I can at least keep up with what's going on.

Will update my siggie to reflect my workout time -as little as it is and hope to get lots of miles next week. Have checked out maps from disneyrunning.com and will do some morning miles to start the day off right.

Take care for tonight -miss all of you.

denise

Denise - you are a good person for helping out your relatives. Hope you do not get their flu!

Connie - mixer sounds great - love the theme!

Jship, I thought you Navy boys were tough when it came to those sort of things.

Jen

Jen, I was in the Air Force, when we got in trouble we did not do KP, push-ups or cleaning toilets with our tooth brushes, We lost our pool privileges :lmao:

Jack - 10 m/m is slow? That's about how fast I go... I'm hoping to improve on that this year :)

Bunny- 10 m/m is as good as it gets for me right now but we have a long summer for training...... not sure I could do that for ten miles. But hey our medals look the same as the 7 m/m-er's right!

We're gonna have a Great Time!
:simba:

Denise, You sparked my brain, DVC was 230 when we bought in 1991.

I switched from New Balance to Asics, cause they just felt more better. LOL

Jack, so true about the medals being the same. I think that is a JOhn Bingham thing or somebody says something like that. yep 4th place on get the same. Finishing is reward enough,

Short Road Trip tomorrow for work.
