Hakuna Matata Hearts and flowers!

Dave, Well, I can't wait until it's warm enough to wear my running skirts again. I think they should start making a running "kilt" for you guys than you'd understand the cult.

I did 4.25 miles in 35 minutes (it was hilly) and an hour strength training class.

Best,
Jennifer

Actually Scott H, and I along with a few other guys have talked about it. We do have the legs for it.:upsidedow

Hi everyone! We've got a holiday here so I got a chance to go into the gym a lot earlier than I normally do. It's nice working out in the middle of the day. I didn't feel like I was rushed to come back home afterwards. I am back on Thursday for another training session! I also ordered my race photos today after I was sent an e-mail with a 10% code. I probably shouldn't have but I figure it might be good motivation to start working on those scrapbook pages!

Eva - Yes, the butter was yummy!! I had to stick it in the freezer after we were done breakfast. I would have gone through an entire loaf of bread otherwise! If I told my DF about the rib joint, we'd (or I'd) sign up for the Martian Half.

Lynn - I did a 3 miler around my area yesterday. I'm trying to take advantage of the nice weather too. It's suppose to snow some more later this week :(

Margie - Oh ... basketball :) I'm not into mainstream sports much. I didn't realize a Passport card was just that - a card. Sounds kind of handy - It would be easier just to stick that in your wallet when travelling.

Denise - I stuck a good portion of the cake into a ziplock bag and threw it into the freezer. Unfortunately, today is DF's grandma's birthday so there will be more cake.

Dave - Your panda avatar with a skirt is hot! :upsidedow :cutie:

Connie - How's your shoulder doing?

Have a great day everyone!!

Just realized that I haven't posted my totals for last week so here goes:

Mon-Thurs walk/ran for a total of 2:12.00, mileage unknown.

On Sat. walk/ran 5 miles; 1:07.00

Weight training: 90 minutes

Pilates: 20 minutes (sent the DVD back to Netflix; it was too easy)

Aerobics: 45 minutes

Tried to do a short walk/run today but my hamstring/hip is hurting and just couldn't run, so I just walked instead.

My motto is: Every day a new ache or pain!;)

Hi TEAM! :wave2:

Vicky – are you seriously thinking of registering for the Martian (Half) Marathon? I hope so :cheer2: And :cheer2: for Scrap Booking! I have several pages done of my WDW trip this year.

:hippie: It’s okay, but I still do not understand why you started the rumor. I am sorry that you were hurt and are still that upset with them. Just remember people say things and really do not mean to hurt your feelings. Hope that everything works out for you.

:hippie: There were 2 men at the Donald 2009 that wore kilts. There are many sources on line to purchase quality wool kilts or your just clan tartan. The Royal Stewart and Blackwatch are free tartans, which may be worn by anyone. When Hagen gets a little older I will get him the actual MacQueen Clan Kilt. I made him one last year for the Scottish Festival. It was cute, but not the real thing. I can PM you the link to the Scottish Tartan site that I use if you like.

Oh no no Margie, the skirts and I were just having fun, no hurt or hard feelings at all, we are all good buds. I just have to pick at them and they love picking right back.

Dave:hippie:

It was such a beautiful day here today, Scott went out for a run, and the dogs and I got in a 6 mile walk in. It was just so nice out, I would have liked to go farther, but my knee wouldn't take it much longer.

Lynn you are having all the fun you can stand with that knee aren't you. Is is correctable with surgery?

At least you got in some good time with the pups.

DH and I had our orientation at the Y tonight. They showed us how to use all the machines and set us up for how many reps we should be doing. I told them my goal was the Half Marathon in January, and everyone was very helpful. I managed a mile before we got started. It took me about 14.5 minutes. I did another mile after our workout and it took me 15 minutes. So, nothing crazy impressive -- but its a start. DH and I are going to go to the Y on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and some Saturdays. Tomorrow is a rest day, so I will probably just do the eliptical for 15-25 minutes.

Is it sad that its only 9pm and I'm ready for bed? I think I had a really good workout tonight!

Greetings Team! Things have been hectic here over the last week, managed to get my 3.5mile ellipticals in Mon. Wed. Friday, lost this week. Going to Vegas Tuesday on the way to Wyoming but will back on it Friday. My DS 17 met a nice girl from vegas on the EB PC in August so he'll get to have dinner with her Tuesday night, his buddies can't get over he's flying out for dinner, he forgot to mention the other half of the trip. Hope everyone is well.

Jack

Good Morning, TEAM! :wave2:

Beautiful morning in Michigan and they have forecasted our high of 40 degrees today. Maybe if no high winds Hagen and I can get out for a walk this afternoon. :goodvibes No gym this morning or tonight as Hagen has swim class. :fish:

Eva-Thinking of you this morning

Vicky - Thanks!

pixiedust: pixiedust: Connie, Lynn, Erica, and anyone else who is injured or sick this morning! pixiedust: pixiedust:

Connie & Scott - I heard Marathon Love was a true inspirational love story. I would really like to see it too! Please tells us if you hear it is scheduled to be on television again.

Jack- I too am impressed - a 17-year old flying to Vegas to take a girl to dinner! I don't expect the other half of the trip will hold the wonder of the first half :goodvibes

As Lynn said we got a run in yesterday, then some shopping and passport photos.

managed to do some work work last night so that will help this week out I hope.

Feeling tired, sore neck and calfs, not sure what is up with that. Sleep would help but that seems to elude me during the week.

Have a great one,

Safe travels,

Good morning Team!

Another blustery day here, today. I just can't walk in 40 mph winds! And really it's not THAT the wind is blowing it is WHAT the wind is blowing. Just the other day, as I stepped out on my front porch, there were 2 dogs and 3 cats and a lawn chair that went blowing by. :lmao: Okay, not the dogs and the cats, but the lawn chair had to be gathered up and returned!

Less than a month and I will be participating in my first race in a year!!! :woohoo:

My shoulder is great. Thanks for asking vicki! I am approaching the 6 month post op magic number and things are pretty peachy. It is pretty much healed, it's just a matter of strength training now.

Off to pay bills and get in a workout! See ya!

Good Morning Team.

Busy long weekend. Did 5 on Sat & Mon with a pilates class on Sun.
Going to the combat class today at lunch.

More snow on the way for Wed-Fri. We've had a nice little break from the snow. I don't want anymore.

Vicky, It's always nice to work out during the day & not wait til after work. At least the days are getting longer.

Connie, Glad to hear your shoulder is doing well.

Have a great day everyone, Sue

Walking Panda:hippie:

Yes Dave, I am just having all the fun I can stand! There is not much damage to my knee, it was diagnosed as tendonitis, so no surgery! If it doesn't feel better soon, I may go back to the Doc and see if there is anything else I can do - or go back to the PT and get the anti-inflamatory treatment I was getting earlier. I cannot remember what they called it, but it was using electrodes to push an anti-imflamatory drug into the skin. Some days are good days and some days are terrible, so it is hard to see improvement.

Margie - we had no wind here yesterday, hopefully, that is headed in your direction!

Connie - I can relate to the flying dogs and cats! There are days that the dogs and I go out, and I have seen the wind push them over - and they are good sized dogs - 75 pound malamutes! Sometimes, I am pushed over, in fact, I think they have the advantage of being lower to the ground than I am, and on 4 legs instead of 2!

Wind is supposed to pick up here later today - along with rain and snow - will need to get out this morning with the dogs.

Have a great day team!

Hi everyone! I'm just popping in quickly to say hi! Nothing really scheduled for tonight. I'll probably work on putting together my photos from the January trip and then do a little bit of the Wii Fit.

Sue - I don't want anymore snow either!! Just when I was getting use to dry sidewalks. Have fun at your class!!

Connie - Yikes that IS windy! I'm glad you aren't having any problems with your shoulder.

Scott - Sounds like you need to see a masseuse! Well, that should be your treat for working so many hours last week.

Nicole - I always sleep very well after a good workout. Sounds like you and DH have a nice gym schedule set up!

Margie- You're welcome! I'll have to send you a pic of my scrapbook page when I'm done... eventually... :D

Okay have a great day everyone!

Vicky I like your thinking.

It is so windy we have a rope teather we tie to a fence post to keep teh garbage can from going to nebraska. Really:eek:

Connie, I totally understand about the wind.

I did get 4 miles in 35 minutes today on a relatively hilly route.

Jennifer

It was still fairly calm this morning when I walked dogs, but wind has picked up quite a bit - I have not checked to see what the readings are. Got in 4 miles, and a weight routine. Will see how much snow we have on the ground tomorrow, and how much the wind is blowing! Knee felt pretty good today, was just uncomfortable at times, not stabs of pain!

Wedneday AM
Good Morning, TEAM :wave2: Anne, Connie, Dave & Erica, Denise & Mark, Scott & Lynn, Diane, Eva, Jack, Jennifer, Jen, Jessica, Kathy, MaryJ, Maroo, Nichole, Sue, and Vicky!

Getting ready to go to the gym – bike this morning. :upsidedow
It's a good feeling to have my this years events calendar mostly planned. And I am now registered for most of the races. Trying to stay close to home this year so I can save $$ to spend more days at WDW in January 2010!

We are under a Winter Storm Alert – High winds with gusts to 40MPH & 3-6-inches of snow. Yes, the clear roads and sidewalks were nice while it lasted! :rolleyes1

Lynn- glad to hear your knee is doing better :flower3:

Scott- Hope you were able shut the mind off and get some sleep. :faint:

Vicky - looking forward to seeing your scrapbook pages! Do we have other scrap bookers on our Team? :goodvibes

pixiedust: Connie, Lynn, Scott, & Erica, hope you are on the mends and feeling better today! pixiedust:
