Hakuna Matata Hearts and flowers!

Hit the TM and some weights this morning, started making a protien shake for breakfast rather than the grits I make at work. I did sleep well last night. Lots of changes here at my work, with a decission I will have to make here in a couple of weeks or sooner. Add to that lots of work keeps comming in. I am glad I have a job and feel for others getting laid off and having major changes.

They are calling for wind and snow today, and as I left for work Lynn said the roads were closing.

Later kids have a great day, get strong, eat well, and enjoy.

Good Morning Team!

Margie - I am a wannabe scrapbooker - I am still working on my scrapbook for our Panama Canal Cruise - in 2005! I keep saying that when I finally get my area in the basement set up, I will spend more time down there scrapbooking! I have been saying that since we moved here over 2 years ago:lmao:

It is breezy out this morning (20mph winds), no snow yet, and partly sunny as of now, so I will get out with the dogs and see how bad the winds really are (they seem to pick up as soon as I leave the house, then calm down again when I get home!)

Have a great day team!

You can add me to that list of wannabe scrapbookers. One of the "projects" I had in mind for this winter was to organize my scrapbooking stuff and get at least a few pages done. Between trips to visit my daughters in Denver and the Indianapolis area, all I've managed to do is heap more stuff onto the table! Of course, about this time last year when someone approached me and asked if I was a runner, my reply was "I'm a wannabe runner." I'm still not a true runner, but at least I get out there and give it a go!

Good Morning Friends!

MaryJ- What the heck is a wannabe runner?? You get out, you run. Sounds like a runner to me!

Of course it's calm here this morning. It's a rest day. I have been doing weights on my rest days and then on my cross train I do Pilates and the bike. I have the great 10 minute Pilate tapes, and I can do a couple of those. I need to do the Pilates stretch after my walks. I am so bad about stretching.

Margie, MaryJ, Lynn, I am afraid that I would be the kind of scrapbook person who doesn't ever quite get a round tuit. I can stick photos in a album if I can get them printed out.........

Guess I will go bake a lemon merengue pie and pick out something for supper.

Y'all make a great day! :grouphug: Connie

It's official...

You are all bad influences on me.

I'll now be running my first half-marathon in May and then my first full in December.

ETA: I did 4 miles in just under 35 minutes again today.

Good morning team.

I went out for a nice 5K this morning in the pending storm elements. The temp and conditions were really nice, 48 degrees with beautifully angry sky. I was supposed to have my group walk today but told everyone that if it rained we would go tomorrow. I got it done with out rain. My time for walking the 5K was a brisk 36ish. Didn't use the timer just looked at watch before and after.

Have a super day y'all.

Too far behind on reading, will have to catch up this weekend. DS got sick Sunday night and stayed home from preschool for two days. And I've been working hard applying to school to finish my teaching degree (appts with advisers, transcript requests, applications, etc) Tomorrow is baby DS first birthday (big fun day planned).... so training has been on a stand still this week, hope to pick it back up again on Saturday.

JPFamily- I hope your little guy has a Happy Birthday!

Went back to the Y tonight. I did 2 miles on the eliptical in 22 minutes. Then, I walked a mile on the track in about 14ish minutes (not exactly sure here, I just looked at the clock). I managed to jog one lap though. I'm still very nervous about running though. I had knee realignment surgery in 2004 and my knee has never gotten all its stregth back. So, I'm just talking it really slow to start.

Good Morning Team!

Connie - weights does not sound like a rest day to me!

I got out for a 6 mile walk with the dogs yesterday, I had to force myself to keep going, but it felt good when I was done. Knee did not bother me too much walking, it did bother me last night when I was trying to sleep, but it does not hurt this morning. Today I will get in about 3 miles with the dogs then weight routine. It is windy, but we fought 44 mph wind gusts yesterday, and today is not as bad - so far!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning Team.

Nichole, there are lots of us on this team who are walkers! We don't run, we walk our races. It's a lot of fun at the back of the pack! :cool1: All I am trying to say is, don't hurt yourself. There is still joy in racing without running!

Lynn, you don't think weights are a rest??? I move clear up to 5 lbs yesterday. I tend to move quickly from one exercise to another so a full upper and lower body program to the point of failure only takes me 20 minutes with a warm up. THat sounds restful, don't you think?

Jessica, good luck on finishing that degree! Hope you have a great birthday bash!

Jennifer?? Bad influence?? GOOD influence you mean. If you have to be addicted to something, might as well be racing! :rotfl:

Off to do my cross training. Make the day a brilliant one!

 Connie

Hi TEAM! :wave2:

Oh, we are having another Winter happenings today - things are all ready going into delays & closings. :cold:

Went to the gym early this morning-did 15-miles on the bike. I hope to get back tonight for a lower body workout after my Little Hagen's Swim Class. :fish:

:bday: JPFamilyMom DS party:

Have A Great Day!

Hi team.

I met my horse furrier race walking friend for a nice but very cold 5 miler this morning. It was 28 degrees with a 18 mph wind so pretty chilly chill factor. I got through it though. It took about an hour.

My legs were a little tired from pushing it yesterday. But I have felt good about this weeks exercises. That ten pounds I gained at WDW are still hanging on though.

Have a super day y'all.

REMEMBER :
stressed' spelled backwards is 'desserts'!

Hi everyone!

I did an easy 5k in 25 minutes and an hour pilates work out.

Connie, definitely worse things to be addicted to. To quote Legally Blonde, "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't murder. They just don't."

Great Time

Got back to RI tonite at 5:10pm, tired, hungry and now have a cold, but it was a good trip 4 cities in three days. Felt like the Amazing Race without the cheese rolling or bungee jumping.
Will go to work tomorrow and get my run in. Time for a shot of Nyquil and bed.

Good Morning, TEAM! :wave2:

Winter Storm Watch still with us -

Connie, hope you have a great long walk - eagerly waiting for your report :upsidedow

Went to the gym early this morning - 15 miles on the bike…My bike miles are adding up but the Walking miles are sad! Spring is coming :goodvibes

Happy Training Day! Anne, Connie, Dave & Erica, Denise & Mark, Scott & Lynn, Diane, Eva, Jack, Jennifer, Jen, Jessica, Kathy, MaryJ, Maroo, Nichole, Sue, and Vicky!

Good Morning Team!

Margie - we are getting more winter type weather here also, although probably not as bad as yours - winds currently at 35-45mph (and it is morning when they are usually calmer) - high today of 36, and I think we may have already gotten there - cold front coming in at noon - and snow for tonight.

Dave - that was pretty extreme weather for you, glad to hear that you survived it!

Jennifer - lets hear it for those endorphins!

Jack - hope you had a successful trip! Let us know what the decision is!

I got out for a 3 mile walk yesterday, not quite as breezy as the day before, and an hour weight routine. Knee is a little sore today, I have upped the weight on my leg press just a little. Today the wind is blowing at 35 - 45 mph, so I do not think I will get outside with the dogs unless it calms down when the cold front hits later this afternoon. That will mean either the treadmill, or maybe an aerobics tape for a change. It is supposed to be a nice weekend, so hopefully I can get the missed milage in.

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Friday Team!

Not such at happy Thursday at work. Major restructuring and terminating over 300 employees yesterday. Depressing!

Passed on going to the gym at lunch. Just not in the mood but got in 5 on the TM last night.

Margie, nice mileage on the bike. How's the ankle feeling?

Jen, Legally Blonde - One of my favourite cheesy movies I like to watch when it's on on a Sunday afternoon.

Lynn, How is the job prospects going? AAA or Census?

Pilates class is a given on Sunday. Weather on Sat. will dictate running.
We are expecting snow with really cold temps. It's a wait & see.

Have a great weekend. Enjoy your training......Sue

Hi Everyone. I have been reading every day but just not posting much. I can't log on from work so all my posts have to come from home and I'm not at the computer that much.

Have been suffering with a headache for about a week. Went for my massage last night and she said it's the worst it's been in a long time. Alas I knew I was in a foul mood for a reason! :headache: She worked hard on my arms and neck and I feel much better today. Sore but better.

Walking or not walking has not helped since I'm not getting the blood flowing in all areas including my arms and neck. So I will have to make an effort to do some TM work and Ellip to keep things limber.

This winter is getting us down and with no 1/2 to train for I just don't have the ambition. I really need to put that out of my head and work to stay Healthy, which IS the WISH motto.

Well I have my 2 hr lunch today so I'll go make a sandwich and get going. Been sewing for a bit - it eases my stress and makes me smile.

Here's hoping something you love to do comes your way this weekend and makes you smile.

denise

Denise, I'm sorry to hear you are feeling puny. Erica had a stomach bug and lost 10 lbs from not being able to keep anything down. She is better now.

I had an hour of pool running this morning, kinda neat to have a good hard workout in a heated pool when it's 20 degrees out. I was chilled for a while after I got finished and had to go marketing.

Yes winter has been a drag this year. I'm ready for spring, I can only imagine how wonderful it will be to be outside in the WARM sun again.

Margie, the time in motion is what matters.
