I happen to LOVE Entemann's rich frosted doughnuts with the thin layer of rasberry under the chocolate coating. The only problem is that I have NEVER been able to find them anywhere in Ohio. Everytime I go in a grocery store, I anxiously look for the Entemann's display. When I spot it, my pulse quickens and I feel a tingle of hope. I scan the display, wishing against all odds that the box will be there. In Ohio, I am always disappointed.

In fact, the ONLY place I have ever found them is at the Publix near Downtown Disney. I have never seen them at any other Publix in Orlando nor at any Winn-Dixie nor at Goodings. At a different Publix, a clerk told me "we don't get very many of those." And last month, at our usual Publix, I snagged the last 2 boxes!! Fortunately, I have never had a Disney trip where I did not eventually find them. I am sure it is Disney Magic sneaking off-property to allow my discovery of these little boxes of treasure...and a Publix ordering guy with the same tastes as my own!

So it got me wondering. How many people have a special grocery item they can only find at Disney? Or am I just really nuts and out there on my own?

By the way...Next time you go grocery shopping, look for Entemann's rich frosted doughnuts with the rasberry under the chocolate. If you find it, let me know where you live. That way I can make a list of acceptable places to vacation on exchanged points.

Well, it's Krispy Kreme doughnuts for us....we don't have them in Central MA yet :(

Never heard of those Entenmann's, but they sure sound good...I love Entenmann's.

Ya know, I had Krispie Kremes once, in California last summer, and got so excited when I saw one near Disney, and DH didn't want to stop. Next trip...if he knows what's good for him. (None here in RI either.)

We are lucky enough to have Krispy Kreme near us at home. mmmmmm they are good!! esp when the glazed ones are fresh and warm. And my kids love going there to watch the doughnut-making machine in action.

But, alas, even Krispy Kreme does not have a chocolate covered cake doughnut with that thin layer of rasberry underneath.

...as a Disney item, but I always treat myself to a pound or two of Sopprasate (sp) when we stay to go with a bottle of diago red wine and a chunk of cheese. AHHH, can feel my arteries hardening already.

I've never heard of those raspberry ones...but I love the Rich Chocolate. But they're not special to WDW...you can get those anywhere!

BTW..Entenmann's big cinnamon buns are incredible...I don't see those often and they're expensive!

So, where is this Publix?;)

Lesley...

The ONLY Publix (in the world) where I have seen the Rich frosted with the rasberry underneath is the Publix at the corner of route 535 (Apopka-Vineland Road) and route 192.

The box looks just like the regular rich frosted doughnut box, but there is a little sticker on it with a picture of rasberries.

I could use one right now with a cold glass of milk!!!!!

Is 535 that road where Hotel Plaza Blvd. ends at the shopping center (which I think is where the Goodings is...)? From there one would make a right to get to 192?

You know, the roads outside of WDW are pretty easy....its the ones on Disney property that are difficult!

LOL Lesley....I thought I was the only one who was map challenged inside "the world".:)

I have 2 absolute must haves while at WDW, both are at WolfGang Pucks. The olive bread, and the iced tea. Last time I was there I was dissappointed because they no longer sold the tea in their store, so the waitress brought me 2 huge bags. What a tip she got that day! I could make a meal on the olive bread. Now I am getting hungry and we don't go home until July, darn our teacher schedules.:(
