I'm staying @ Poly for 7 nights. I'm planning on stopping @ the grocery store befor we check in. I've been reading the posts about snacks and h20. This will be my first trip to DW.

My question is if I'm staying concierge level do I need snacks and h20 in the room?

(4 of of total. 2 adults and 2 kids ages 9,4)

You only need snacks and beverages if you won't like what the concierge has to offer. We stay that level just so we won't have to go purchase things separately and we just take things back to our room or eat them in the lounge. I can't remember it's name (Captain Hook's maybe?) but there is a small store on property where you can buy things.

Have fun at the Polyneisan - we love that resort! :)

Some of the concierge lounges used to offer bottled water and the staff would urge you to take it to the parks. That has stopped.

So, IMHO you will want water, but you probably won't want/need snacks, unless you are big snackers. Keep in mind that for the most part, the snacks in the lunges aren't individually wrapped, so are pretty much meant to be eaten there. So if you wo'nt be in the lounge much, you might want to bring some snacks with you as well :)

thanks. Can't wait to get there. Just about a month left. Maybe we can just skip the stop to the store. :)

If you are using a towncar service, I always request the grocery stop. I have yet to actually use it, though! I put it on my request, as it must be done ahead of time and not that day. I figure that I might need it if I forget something important, like the entire bathroom bag! (We once did this at a hockey tournament.) I want to know that I have a grocery option open to us if I need it.

I just reserved our towncar two days ago and requested the 15 minute grocery stop. Will I use it? Hopefully not!

We always took an extra pop back to our rooms when leaving the concierge lounge. I would put it in the ice bucket and we'd enjoy it upon returning from our park visit. Its nice to clean up a bit before coming into the lounge, and enjoying an ice cold diet pop is part of that!

Happy planning!

From other posts, if you ask, the concierge staff will let you take the larger liter glass bottles of water back to your room for your refrigerator. You could put that water into sports bottles to take to the park, or buy a sports bottle with filter (I do not like the taste of Florida water and even use filtered water to brush my teeth!). Chips, snacks etc not available in the concierge lounge can be purchased on site (but at an inflated price, of course!). Unless your kids are really picky snackers, I think you will be able to find something for everyone to munch on in the lounge. Have a great trip and let us know what you thought about the Poly concierge!
