Gringott's lives up to the hype aka what's a little lost sleep?

Why haven't I found any POV vids for Gringotts yet??? When Forbidden Journey opened, I found several. We won't be riding this for a few years so I'd love to see it ahead of time, just to see what I'm missing. I've seen lots of vids for the queue and inside the bank where the goblins are counting their money, but I want actual ride footage!!!

I'm not sure how well a ride POV would work considering that the ride is 3-D and the majority of it would not show well on video at all. I'm sure at some point someone will film it so that you can at least get a sense of the motion but I just don't see how a video could clearly capture it.

There are 2 ride pov on youtube, but they are really blurry and not great..But that is because the ride is 3d

There were huge cavernous sets, and quite a few places the sets combined with the musion/pepper's ghost effect (like in the disaster preshow, but larger scale) where it really blurred the lines between them in a much less obvious way than in forbidden journey. There's really a lot going on in the ride, it's extremely complex. I think that's where the confusion may lie. It is total sensory overload, so this ride really deserves several repeats to catch it all. I think it works better than Forbidden Journey myself since it really makes it difficult in places to figure out where the screens begin and end. It may take riding without the 3d glasses on to really figure it out in spots, it was that seamless.

Good luck getting multiple rides though, with the wait times like they are right now, you'd think Anna & Elsa are in the line waiting for Gringotts too.

I agree somewhat, it's not really a let down I think I was expecting the ride to be longer. Since we rode it 1 1/4 times I think the emergency evac grind of ruined it a little for us. The first few scenes are the best, then we got stuck. So the next time around I was thinking if the beginning was this great it has to get really good.

Don't get me wrong, the ride and atmosphere is like nothing else out there and it's truly amazing.

Awwww, so sorry you got stuck! Were you early on the first day? Reason I ask is because we heard it go down while we were on the staircase. Happy that we made it completely through on our only run!

such a shame you got stuck. that would ruin it in a lot of ways.

How long does the actual ride last when it works properly lol.
Big question. Do you think it will be talked about in same way FJ was? I know they different but wondered if it would take FJ crown of awesomeness.

Wondering if kids will find it scary ;)

One of the anti's is reporting that Gringott's is down this morning. That is a shame for those waiting if that's true.

This ride sure has been cranky so far.

I have a feeling maybe it was not quite ready for opening but felt pressured.
Then again did not they not have similar problems the first week or so with FJ?

Are people having as many issues fitting into the ride this time? Not seen much on people saying unable to ride.

It definitely wasn't ready for a full opening. The rest of the area was, though. Forbidden Journey did have some mornings when it didn't open properly and the line would snake all the way out to the entrance to Wizarding World.

I'm surprised that they actually let people queue up if they didn't have it ready this morning. Maybe they gave people the option and that's what they chose?

Does it have big drops? I haven't been on the mummy but how does it compare to expedition Everest or big thunder mountain at Disney drop wise?

No really big drops and I found it tons smoother than both BTMRR and ROTM

It's barely a roller coaster, it has a small drop at the beginning, but most of it is powered. Ride wise it's more similar to Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland. Much tamer than Mummy and Forbidden Journey.

How big would you say the drops are? Everyone's saying they're not bad but I'm nervous cause I'm a bit of a wuss. I love big thunder mountain but won't go on Everest. I really hope I can go on this ride!

If you can do btm then you will have no issue.

I'm sure people would've lined up at the entrance had they not been filling the queue.

I was there a week after Hogsmeade opened and yes the queue did snake all the way down the street at times. We were there with early entry and managed to get on FJ maybe 4/5 times in 4 visits (just kept going back for more) but only made it through once without stopping which was our first time luckily. Yes the stops ruin it a little bit but there is so much more to rides such as the queuing area and such that helps to remedy that.

Obviously with new technology there are going to be unforeseen glitches plus new staff learning new equipment. I'm sure they will get everything running smoothly soon(ish)

Thank you!!! BTMRR is my favorite. I rode The Revenge of the Mummy for the first time last week (and hated it ... Sorry!), so I've been having anxiety about Gringotts. We'll be there again in June 2015, so I have some time to chew on my fingernails!

Excellent news!

Fantasmic23, don't apologize for disliking Revenge of the Mummy, I loved all of the movies and wanted so much to love the ride but every time, just like Big Thunder Mountain, I come off of it with a sick headache. With Gringotts, it's a smooth ride, the drops are mild and the video when we saw it was perfect, not jumpy at all. I know others are saying that they were not impressed with the video but for us it was perfect. I honestly doubt that I'll ride Forbidden Journey again, it makes my head pound along with giving me nausea.

Thank you! I'm excited for Gringotts now! I just read your description to my husband and he said, "We'll try it." ;)

My husband didn't fare too well with Forbidden Journey this time around. While it didn't make him headachey, it made him very nauseous.
