We've used the grills by the quiet pool area.
Has anyone had great success with this "park" style of grill? When I follow the instructions on the charcoal bag, the initial pile of charcoal starts out fine, but then you're supposed to spread them out into a layer just 1 coal thick after the ash over.
After spreading out the coals, the heat level drops way down and it's difficult to sear anything. I think the problem is the coals sit on the bottom of the grill floor with no air flow beneath. Should I disregard the charcoal instructions and pile the coals deeper?
I'm used to a gas grill, so any suggestions are appreciated.
