Great unknown tips or secrets!

This year i am taking a cheapy mug with me to fill from the disposable cartons. I hate drinking tea and coffe from disposable mugs, and I often take them to my room, at the end you can just leave it.

Do they only do this on the 7 day cruises? Or also on the 3/4 night?

We were on the 3 night cruise. Maybe they only do 1 presentation on the 3/4 night, and 2 on the 7 night, but I'm not sure.

Another one of my favorites....

Room service (when they are not too busy) is often willing to deliver to other locations on the ship. We utilized this often late at night. We had made a lot of friends onboard and after partying at Rockin' Bar D, we would all be hungry, so we went to the Promenade Lounge (which would be empty at this time) and ordered room service, so we could eat AND still hang out with our friends!

The last time that we sailed DCL, they had all the Coke products at the drink station, but no Root Beer (don't know if this has changed since last April), but I LOVE root beer floats. So, I brought onboard, a few 20 oz bottles of root beer onboard and filled up a cup of vanilla ice cream at Goofy's and poured in my root beer. YUMMY!!!! And, since they were the 20 oz bottles, I just put the top on tight, and used the rest later for another RB float!

Wow, this was not going on, on the Repo. We had to camp out side of a room to get it delivered. We even tried to order from guest services and they would not deliver there. The girl at GS was a little shocked. Bottom line, we learned they only deliver to a room.

Hmmmm.....maybe they either stopped doing this all together, or they were able to make the exception for us since we were ordering so late at night or something. I guess it can't hurt to ask, though. I know I definitely will on our next cruise!

Nope, this order was placed around 2:30 A.M. We wanted it delivered to Rockin Bar D, they said they can only deliver to rooms. I think that policy need to be changed.

If you store stuff in the space where they often put the bedspread, I'm guessing that the stateroom host will just store it somewhere else for overnight. That's one thing about unpacking early - you can fill up all the space you want / need :)

I thought I was the only one who hated hotel bedspreads  The first thing I do in a hotel is remove the bedspread. I don't want to think what or who was on that spread last; also when was it last launderd?

Hopefully, we will be there early enough to have it taken away from both our connecting rooms!

Everyone keeps mentioning the over the door shoe hanger/organizer for keeping toiletries in but no one has mentioned the other idea that I have seen and heard about...

Have a second one hanging on the back of the door for kids to put in their special items like gameboys, books, crayons, webkins....

Tell your room stewart that you would like a clean one every day and they will bring it to you. We had ours replaced a few times over the 15 night PC Repo cruise.

Do you ever ask for it to be laundered or do you just do without it for the trip?

On our last two Disney cruises, we brought walkie-talkies with us. We had enough for each one. It works great on the ship to you can always know where your family is. If you have teenagers.....this is the way to go. We loved it.

Does anyone have any other suggestions of things we can bring for the crew? We have been on 3 Disney cruises and the crew has been awesome each time. If there is anything that I can bring with me that they don't have access to, I would love to know in advance. I saw the candy suggestion and the book idea...love both. Is there anything else????

thanks for all the great ideas!!!

WRINKLE SPRAY!!!

 :cool1:

You can buy Downy or.......dum dum dumdum dum......MAKE YOUR OWN!

Take the empty Downy bottle (or one of your own....) and refill it with
2T liquid fabric softener
2T alcohol
water

(or alternatly you could shove a bounce sheet in the bottle - really! and *** aDD some alcohol

works like MAGIC :wizard:

(they really shouldn't put the "d" and "s" so close together.....)

I just do without. I started doing this several years ago after watch a news show that showed what is on the bedspreads in hotels (they used black lights) :scared1: They also showed on hidden cameras the hotel maids wiping out the bathroom glasses with the same cloth she used to clean the bathroom; she then put the glasses in those paper covers.

A week or so ago I was watch the tv show "John and Kate Plus Eight" when they went to DW. She was a nurse and wouldn't let anyone even walk on the hotel carpet barefooted. I've even thought about that. My house is not the cleanest place but at least I'm walking on and lying on my own dirt.

Do they have glass or paper cups in the staterooms???:rolleyes1

We watched a number of people on CC snorkeling without inflating their vest. If you do not inflate them the vest will provide little to no flotation support. There is a black inflation tube on the left side of the vest. To inflate the vest depress the tip and blow into the tube until the vest is inflated. When you release the tip the valve will close keeping the air in

Thanks for your concern, but, since we have to wear vests on Disney excursions and Castaway Cay, some of us do not inflate the vest on purpose. ::yes::

We do not need floatation assistance as God has provided a body type that floats extremely well. :thumbsup2

Ok, I know that's waaaay back at the beginning, but I wanted to offer this idea instead...

I always wear a white long sleeve button down shirt over my suit. Even swimming. Best part about it is it dries fast... but it also protects your arms, and is plenty cool enough to just hang out in.

We were told that the sun can penetrate white shirts when they are WET and cause a sun burn so we snorkel in black or navy blue.

Bring glow sticks from the dollar store. If one group from your party goes to the theater first to get seats - you'll never be able to find each other. If you have the glow sticks - you can wave them in the air and see the other one -- thank goodness we had those last time!

Don't want to cause trouble, but DCL discourages saving seats.

Hey Janet...they have glass cups for the bathroom. I am going to bring my own paper cups. Never thought of it...but I love the idea.
