Great Hotel needed inside:picky

Coming to DisneyWorld in October 2007.
Are there any Adult hotels where there are NO kids ?

If you are dead set against children lodging near you, it seems that the best bet would be to get a cabin at WL or buy some DVC points to get a villa. You're near but not connected to anyone else that way. Of course, you could be a troll, and answering you is silly. Are you a troll?

no i am not a troll
i just want quiet at night, the last hotel i went to in Disneyland kids were screaming everywhere at 5 in the morning.
They can scream all they want after 8.

Mmmmmmmmmm, planning to go to Disney, but you don't want to be around kids?

If you are serious, I'd say there are quieter hotels, but none that don't allow children on property.

We stayed at POFQ and I found the back buildings away from the pool to be very quiet....

I'm afraid that you will run into kids and families w/ kids Everywhere you go in the Central Florida area.

pick hotels like grand floridian, little more upscale, less likely there will be 6 stuffed in a room

go with the deluxe type resorts..avoid beach/board walk club(the pool attracts the kiddos)
not sure about AK

anyways, you can escape them..I have 3 and I still escape them when i go to disney..they have sitter services and villas so i can escape them

Seems like your safest best will be the Grand Flo or maybe The Contemporary Resort.

Problem with Disneyland is folks from the right coast are up early since it seems late to the compared to those of us that live on the left coast. Those of us that travel to WDW from the left coast shreek and hide from the 8AM WDW time zone since it feels like 5AM

In all reality your in Disney - and kids are just part of Disney. If they are that bad a quick call to the local extermninator er I mean Front Desk should render a response to the screaming munchkins.

I have found that the farther from the lobby I am at WL, the less child noise I have to deal with when I'm trying to sleep. I would assume AKL would be the same, because of the layout. Also, I travel with a white noise machine, so that helps a lot. If you don't have a white noise machine, you can simulate one by putting the clock radio on static and turning the volume up.

Unfortunately, my worst noise experiences have been adults, not children, and there's no way to avoid that unless you can afford to book an entire wing to yourself! One morning there was a group of six adults apparently checking out, that just stood in the hallway outside our door shouting to each other about getting this case, and not forgetting that case. I finally had to get up, open the door, and remind them it was 6am and people were sleeping.

I agree, the adults are as bad or worse than the kids sometimes.

I am a very light sleeper & very protective of my sleep. I found the noisiest stay in WDW at All-Stars - Horrible - I could hear toilets flushing, doors slamming & people yelling outside my door at all hours. One value stay was enough. I need my sleep.

The moderates were a little better, no room noises, but occasionally a family would go by the door very animated & excited. You can't get mad, they're just excited & having fun. Coronado Springs was quieter than POFQ for us.

The Deluxe resorts have really been the best. A room at the back of AKL can be very nice, depending on who your neighbors are. But, our favorite is the Swan / Dolphin resorts. The crowd is a little more prone to adults on conventions, which can be as noisy as excited kiddos, but the sound proofing must be better or something. I've never been woken by outside noises at the Swolphin.

We stay at the Contemporary and there are tons of kids there. The halls are loud in the am. Your best bet would probably be to either rent a rv or get a cabin at Ft Wilderness. We rented a rv from Cruise America in Feb (there is a company that will deliver, set up, and pick up which we would do next time). It was soooo peaceful in the am. There was the occasional diesel engine going by late at night or early, but other than that it was pretty quiet. About all we could hear were the birds.

You know...the very quietest stay I have had yet was at POP. I was in the 50's section, bldg 2, third floor, at the very end of the bldg. Of course, once you got out of the bldg there were screaming kids everywhere.
So....if you're looking for a resort with 'fewer' kids (won't find one with no kids!!), perhaps you should try the Swan or Dolphin. I've stayed in both and the number of children at them was much smaller than at the other resorts.
I love BWV but even then you have kids, and adults, yelling in the halls. I've been pretty lucky so far in that it hasn't been really bad. The worst was at the Polynesian. I can't tell you how many times we had to listen to kids running up and down the halls, before 7 am or after 10 pm...it was just incredible. They would run along and hit each doorway as they passed it. Once I opened the door only to have an adult say to me, and I quote, ''They're kids, what can you do? They get excited."

I totally spaced on FW Cabins! We did those the 1st 3 years & they are extremely quiet & peaceful. Also, they are a great deal, valuewise. You get alot for your money there.

Wow, we're die-hard Poly fans & have NEVER heard noise in our rooms. Last summer we were in about the center of the hallway in Raratonga longhouse on the 2nd floor & never heard a thing.

I would take noisy kids over a bunch of noisy adults who are drunk of their butts.

Rent a house if you don't want noise.

In a word, no. I would also suggest a cabin at Fort Wilderness. Very quiet and remote, plus you will still be using the A/C in October and that will mute any noise from people walking by.

Most DVC rentals are hotel-like, with the exception of Saratoga Springs and Old Key West. Maybe the Carousel section of SSR? It's at the rear of the resort and more remote. The upside to this for adults would be a walk over to Pleasure Island.

I agree with the comment that adults are far worse than children as far as hallway noise goes. The doors in the hallways are obviously not soundproof (as they know because they are staying in the hotel!), and yet they can't talk quietly for the 30 second walk to and from the elevator. My 3 year old knows to speak quietly in the hallways!

We're renting a house. I think this might be a good option for you too. Even if you have noisy neighbors with the windows closed and the air cranked I don't think we will hear much from the outside world.

In my experience, the key to avoiding kid noise is to get a room as far away from the pool as possible.

But I have to say that once we did that, we've never had a real problem at Disney. At moderately priced off-site hotels, it's an entirely different story. We've tried that twice, never again thanks to high school band trips chaperoned by absentee adults and front desks who refused to do anything because 'kids will be kids' (at 3am screaming obsenities for 3 hours and having sex on the walkway outside my room while others hoot and holler them on.)
