Grand Californian

I hope that is true. They never escort guests, you go to the room and they bring the bags up. I called to ask about valet parking to one of the coordinators at the hotel, and it was explained we would be self parking, but explained where they would have me park. They then advised bell services wouldn't be available. And they advised we wouldn't be able to access DCA from the hotel entrance. It makes sense if you can exit that way though. I guess I will call again on Monday.
They used to escort guests upon request of they had available staffing.

I know it is silly and not particularly feasible, but I wish that the GCH (and other Disney hotels) could do something to recognize those of us (and there are many on this board) who had trips canceled (as we did in March 2020) and rescheduled over and over until we couldn't anymore. Even a small credit would be nice! Still, I made my reservations (gulp, at rack rate!) and I am keeping my fingers crossed that things are vastly improved by the time we travel this fall. Thanks for all the info and updates, everyone!

Yes!! I lost track of how many times I rescheduled our trip. I'm finally booked to go, 2 years later, sans AP and any sort of room discount, sigh. I just hope more restaurants are open and the holiday decorations will be there.

Right???? When they finally said "We are canceling all your reservations and refunding you", my credit card loved them. Me? I just wanted my reservations!!

anyone know anything about if/ when DLH and PPH might reopen and start taking reservations?
Disney, and only Disney, knows when Disney will decide anything pertaining to Disney operations. And California can overrule Disney's decision at any time for any reason.

Honestly, I won't be surprised to see PPH not come back at all. I feel like now is the perfect opportunity to completely gut and redo that one. I have heard there is a plan to do this eventually.

I kind of think we might see DLH come back by late June.

YES YES YES!!! It was like taking away my lifeline when they sent me the final cancelation/refund email. Well, I did (do) have a Dapper Day reservation that kept moving forward fall-spring-fall as a last-ditch hope but didn't really believe it would work. I mean, I'd already paid off those reservation deposits a long time ago so what the heck?

So many things that I'm used to and wouldn't have even thought about.
Without bell services, that means no storing of luggage on early arrival or for the last day in the parks, right? That's important to know, just for logistics of how to plan the day.

I sent an email to ask about luggage storage, but no response yet. I asked in chat too, and they said they did not have an answer. Haha!

In the past I've looped back to the hotel at check out time to check our bags, rather than fight the long line at the bell counter. I guess now I'd just have to take our bags to the car, since we will be self parking (no valet)

I spoke to a CM this past weekend and they were not sure. It's not clearly stated anywhere. Our reservation is in June, so we will know before we go, I'm sure.

So I was checking out for my hotel room at The Grand and my reservation wouldn’t go through. It looks like they sold out of rooms in the middle of my reservation. I’m pretty bummed now!!!

I changed my dates & park reservations and was able to get a room afterall!

No, they will check keys at the security gate in DTD.

And no valet, room service, or bell service. And when asked, they weren't sure they were going to be able to allow you to use a bell cart to take stuff to your room.

The entry/exit to DCA will be closed. You will have to use the DTD exit/entry.

This is a big bummer! Do you have any idea if GCH guests will have to wait in a line to enter DTD just to get back to the hotel? I have a reservation there for the 2nd week of May and I’m starting to wonder about the logistics of everything. I’m thinking when the parks close at 7pm there will be many guests exiting at the same time. If DTD is at capacity will they hold everyone there in a line to enter DTD? I had hoped we could use the DCA entrance/exit.

The GCH DCA gate will allow entry to the hotel. I was told that it will be an exit only from the park.
