grad nights at WDW???Help pls

Okay! We have chosen our first time stay at WDW to be WL and now we found out that the grad nights will be overlapping our stay. I have found out a few things about it but we need more info to possibly shift our vacation? Anyone with experience on this would be great! There is myself, DH and DD12 going.

Grad night is a separate ticket event. The main impact is that the Mk will close early on a Grad Night.

I've been there on Grad Night before and did not notice an impact other than the park closing early.

We were in WDW for Grad Night in 2004 & 2005.

It was honestly not that bad. The MK closed early on the nights. But other then that everything was normal.

We would just go to other parks on the Grad Nights. The only problem we encountered was there was some more traffic then normal, so the bus trip from Epcot back to the WL took 5 or 10 minutes longer then normal. Not to bad.

On the plus side, they have fireworks late in the MK on Grad Night. From our WL room we could see the MK fireworks, So we got an extra fireworks shows on those nights. DS loved that!

I dont think going during Grad Night is a big deal. Just take those nights & do the other parks. It is just like going during the MNSSHP or MVMCP.

I think the impact depends on where you are staying. We stayed off property 1 year...it was HORRIBLE at the hotel. Our phone was ringing at all hours of the night, noise noise noise....found our rental car was a lounge chair for the kids as they waited to get on the busses.

We stayed on property at a higher end resort the next and there wasn't a problem...Same as with any event at Disney...you may find a few unruly (sp?) teens with no supervision that are acting out, but over all it's the same way no matter who is there, the cheerleaders, football, gymnastics etc etc etc
