Got Studio at HH at 7 months for August!!

Maybe it was just beginners luck - but I wanted to let everyone know that there is hope of getting HH for the summer at the 7 month window. Didn't request weekend nights, just Sunday - Thursday, so maybe that helped, but I am thrilled that we will be able to stay for 5 nights on our drive home from SSR!!

We were also able to book a one-bedroom at HHI at 7 month window! We really wanted to travel the week before Labor Day (less points), but was afraid we wouldn't get it, so I booked a couple of different weeks and had no problem with any of them! I did get the week we wanted with no problem!

This will be our first time to HH and we are really excited to get there!!!

I was also able to get HH at the 7 month window. We will be there 8/28-9/1. We will be driving from HH to WDW. I haven't decided on where to stay yet when we get there. We will have three nights in the world before the member cruise. The kids keep asking to stay at AKL, since we have no more points this may be a good time to try it.

Another lucky 7 mos window August HHI group here! I will say that I NEARLY ran into a problem, however, even though I called day-by-day. Nearly got stranded for the THurs night of our week (and THAT night is our 15th anniversary!) But MS made it all work out. I was surprised there was an issue for that one night, given that we were aiming for the most "common denominator" in room types (2BR) and I had secured a 2br for all days EXCEPT that Thursday! I think one issue may be because I was aiming at early August -- in later August, most of the southern schools are already back in session.

We secured a 2 br for a week in early August (see counter!) I can't wait! (I am SO READY for summer!) I realllllllly hope the fam enjoys HHI. DH is still convinced our DVC pts are for WDW ONLY -- HHI is a hard sell for him, even as much as he enjoys the beach! But if the reports of other posters are true, I think he (and the kids) will be QUITE pleased!

Laurabearz, what kind of accomodations are you in in June, at HHI? I would have imagined that to be impossible. Of course, I have absolutely no experience booking HHI. I think mid June would have perfect weather.

We booked a 2 bedroom, day by day. And last year the weather hit 100 a couple of days and was stiffling hot all the others... But when your in the water life is good. We saw a lot of people biking around, and the thought of physical exertion in that heat, made us happy we tooled around in a air conditioned mini van! LOL

Hi - You'll be at HH the very same time we will. We (DW and myself) have a 1BR booked. It's funny, I have three trips planned over the next 7 months - a week at BWV last week of March, a trip to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon in July and HHI in August; and of all those trips I'm looking forward to HHI the most. We love the resort and the island.

Well, I'm glad all of you lucky people are going, and Laurabearz, thank you. i wonder if 100 or thereabouts in the norm for June. I thought HH was a great golf destination, and I can't imagine playing in that heat, but I don't play golf.

If we go, we want March '06. If we don't get it, I'll have WDW/VB booked. The Vacation Magic edition that talked about the day trips hooked me, I want to see the area. Maybe I'll have to wait until we are retired.

I got us HHI at 7 months also, in a studio.
I was a bit scared though because the first day I called to book the CM told me I may have to waitlist because of the weekend and MLK day, they were closed. She thought missing out on those three days may cause a problem with booking, but I was so happy that they didn't.
When I called on the Tuesday, the days I needed were still available. Yay!
I didn't request anything more specific than non-smoking.
I hope there isn't a dumpster view, I know it is a small resort.
