Yeah for online check-in!! I also found it funny that both upon check-in and then on a sticker on the sliding glass door they remind you that the savannah is monitored by cameras.... so if you're doing anything dirty or sans apparel you'd better close the curtains!

Hey girl! Just stopping in to say HEY! We went to WDW again over the Memorial Day holiday and it was wonderful despite the nasty rain. On the last day we had CS meals left and I remembered the shrimp at the AKL were really good. Sure enough even better than I remembered! The kids had flat bread pizza and that was amazing too. I'd be eating there every day if I was staying there!

Your trip is almost here! You ready?

Hi, Tammy! I am so jealous that you were down there again for Memorial Day -- I really hope the rain stops soon, and we aren't soggy the whole trip.

Thanks for the advice about the Mara -- I am looking forward to eating there -- I have heard good things about the shrimp, and I want to try the African stew they have. Besides, what could be better than being able to buy zebra domes whenever the mood strikes?

I think I am almost ready to start packing -- I have to pick up a few last-minute things at the store this weekend and then I can really start getting organized for our summer vacation at AKL!

Who would want to throw anything at an animal??



I guess someone must've tried, otherwise they wouldn't post it!!

Oh well... glad you are getting more and more excited about your stay at AKL!

I am just hoping that it means my room might be ready sooner -- I put noon as our arrival time even though it will probably be closer to 2:00 (but if for some reason we are there earlier I wanted my folder and KTTW cards ready). Tomorrow I will really be excited since it will be a week away -- then the days should just melt away.

I was doing the same thing, Jilly! Only I am drinking my coffee from a Disney mug -- this morning Charles put mine in my Minnie Mouse mug and his is in his Mickey mug.

thos pics are great! Is it too late to change resorts? We leave in 19 hours. WE LEAVE IN 19 HOURS. My 4 and a half year old can hardly breathe she is so excited. Even the baby does a little happy dance everytime we say "Mickey". I still have 9 things on my to-do list. Better get movin'. Have a great trip.

His and Hers coffee mugs! LOL Sadly I didn't have enough sense to buy a Disney coffee mug when we were there last year *sigh* Guess that's just something to add to my souvie list for next time! I've seen some cute ones at the Disney Store but I always walk out without one.

OT: I saw a really cool show last night. It was called "The Hand Behind the Mouse". It was about Ub Iwerks. It was very interesting.

You are welcome. I enjoyed going back and hunting for them. We'll get to stay there someday. Maybe at the end of next summer's trip, we can do a couple of days there to close it out with some excitement!

being me, I decided to help you find another word, because I think I overuse that one, as well, here on the DIS.

So I went to the Swahili dictionary and put in excited. It gave me hangaika.

I wasn't satisfied with that, though, so I put in excitement.
I like these results better : harakati for excitement and wimbi for excitement that escalates.


So, there are some new words for you.

Today, we are full of harakati waiting for our trips.
In a short time, we will be crazy wimbi over them!!!

I'm sure you are all glad I have to start back to school on Monday, right?

On the 9th day until Disney, I checked us in online.

Who knew that reading a list of admonitions about all the things guests are not allowed to do at Animal Kingdom Lodge (throw items at animals, etc.) could make me so excited about our upcoming trip? It did, though. I did a little happy dance as I clicked and verified everything.

So, in nine days, you can find us checking into the beautiful Animal Kingdom Lodge!

(MeMom, do you have a photo of AKL that I can post in this update?)

I look forward to seeing all yours pics from the trip! I lovedd AKL, we went there for dinner one night and DH and I ended up hanging around for like 2 hours more.. it was so relaxing and beautiful.. it was amazing. I told DH when we were on our way there, that this was my dream resort to stay at.. and as soon as we got there.. he was like OMG.. and just as inlove as me. He started asking me how much it cost and so forth.. I said.. its a lot more than Pop Century.. hehe but he said for sure we will stay there. I'm glad he liked it. I also like Beach Club.. and he didn't.. so this makes me happy.

I was just as pumped to do online check in! hehe Plus, it makes the check in soooo much easier and faster!

No, you can't request any room specifics -- just what time you are arriving, a credit card number, and a couple of other things.

Isn't it just beautiful? We fell in love with it when we went to Boma for the first time two years ago. I can't wait to stay there -- I am going to be on cloud nine just going to the AKL bus stop at the parks.
