Speaking of looking for a new word for exciting...
being me, I decided to help you find another word, because I think I overuse that one, as well, here on the DIS.
So I went to the Swahili dictionary and put in
excited. It gave me
hangaika.
I wasn't satisfied with that, though, so I put in
excitement.
I like these results better :
harakati for excitement and
wimbi for excitement that escalates.
So, there are some new words for you.
Today, we are full of
harakati waiting for our trips.

In a short time, we will be crazy
wimbi over them!!!
