Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

All I can say is poor, poor, Connor........:sad2:

I love the 10 day picture of the kids they do look totally pumped!:thumbsup2

Love the update! Ten days!!!!! I can hardly believe how close you are to the AKL------ I am so excited for you! Do some good shopping and make sure to be ready to answer all my questions (find that Mickey bag for us- okay!)

"I can't wait until we go to Disney -- nothing bad ever happens there!"

It's so amazing how kids can let go of all the bad stuff... we should all learn to live in the moment like they do!!

Ohh, just another few minutes and you're down to single digits!! :eek:

Is it a major faux pas if I start dancing for you now???

party: :dogdance: :jumping1: :dance3: :woohoo: :woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2:

Kathy

I will dance at 3:30

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I've been noticing that!

You can hang out with me while CP is gone on her trip! :laughing:

Although I will truthfully be hoping you are sleeping instead of hanging out here, because I know how exhausted you must be.

Poor Luke.
Poor Mom!

Guess what today is?

Yep, that's right! Ten days until we go to Disney World!!!

004-8.jpg

We had root beer floats to celebrate! While not quite as good as the ones purchased at Sleepy Hollow or Aloha Isle (sadly I am the only one in my family that likes Dole Whips -- the rest always get root beer floats), they did taste pretty good.

Well, I am pretty sure Connor jinxed our trip the other night. Sitting at the table eating dinner, he said words that engendered much knocking on wood. What words were those? "I can't wait until we go to Disney -- nothing bad ever happens there!" (He is a little stressed about going to the dentist tomorrow for a filling.)

So, that made me start thinking. Have bad things ever happened to us at Disney? Well, of course, they have. What about Connor in particular? Most definitely. Connor's statement coupled with cjackearl's story of a scary time involving Amelia at Typhoon Lagoon provided the inspiration for tonight's list.

Connor's Top Five Worst Moments at Walt Disney World

1. December, 2004: While standing in line for Mickey's Philharmagic, my MIL and I look around and realize Connor is not in line with us -- a line we have been standing in for several moments! :eek: Worst moment ever! He was five! :scared1: I backtrack as quickly as possible and find him standing near the Carousel in a sea of strollers. Hands-down my worst moment ever at Disney.

2. June, 2007: I tell Connor he can't buy a stuffed animal lizard at Mombasa Marketplace in Animal Kingdom. He cries all the way out of the park and all the way back to the resort. In retrospect I should have let him get it -- who knew it would mean that much to him!

3. October, 2007: (He would die if he knew I was sharing this one.) Standing on the platform of AstroOrbiter he has an "accident." Poor child doesn't like heights. Hence is born the regimental bathroom visits every couple of hours on subsequent trips.

4. June, 2008: Three words: Toy Story Mania. Need I say more?

5. June, 2008: Connor dumps a frozen lemonade all over himself at Disney Hollywood Studios.

Clearly Connor has chosen to remember all the great moments we have had at WDW as opposed to the bad ones -- heaven knows, I am not going to remind him about them. ;)

WOO HOO for 10 days!!:yay: :scared1: on Connor's list!! I can relate to #1. While at Epcot, Eric sat in another double rental stroller and I started pushing and Matthew says "where is Eric?":scared1: Turns out he sat in the stroller right next to ours and when the little girl went to get in, she screamed and said "there is a boy in my stroller" as I turn around and head back toward the stroller rental, Eric is flying at me 100 miles an hour SCREAMING AND CRYING!!! Worst Disney moment EVER!! Yay for Connor remembering the good!!!:goodvibes Those shakes looked awesome!! I am so excited for you guys!:goodvibes

Thank you for the directions CP! I'm hoping that will make the drive a lot better. I cannot believe how close we are getting. We are all packed as of today. That is a great feeling. Usually we are up until 11pm the night before any trip packing. We just have to pack the cooler for the drive.
What is the first thing you like to do when you check in?
Do you guys have any leaving traditions or roadside traditions? I want the magic to start the minute we leave!

YAY for single digits CP!!!!! :banana::banana::banana:
Hope you are enjoying your first day of freedom...I have a few more days and then I can enjoy my freedom too!!!!

OTTV for Connor's Top 5 list...especially #1 that would be extremely scary thankfully all ended well and I'm so glad for Connor's ethusiasm for his next trip!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
SINGLE DIGITS DANCE! WAHOO!
I'm glad Connor doesn't seem to recall the "bad times" at WDW. It makes is all the more magical. I was trying to remember if we had any incidents at WDW.
I do remember one. I remember when my father DROPPED. THE. CAMERA. Wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't IN. THE. WATER. Yeah. We don't have very many pictures from that trip. :laughing:
Hopefully no incidents on this upcoming trip! :)

Single Digits!!!:banana::banana::cool1::banana:

Loved the update. I guess we really have all been there with the bad Disney moments (seems like an oximoron, right?). Yea for kids' ability to forget all the yuck and just remember the good.:thumbsup2

Hope Connor's filling was less scary in actuality than he feared.:)

Oh Connor! What a cutie! How scary that must have been to lose sight of him!

My scary park moment was last June when my bag (which included $$, credit cards, ID, 2 cameras....)fell off the Dinosaur ride. I am embarrassed to say that I lost it and went crying to Guest Services and filed my claim. I was mostly concerned since a) that was the money I had for the trip, including the credit cards, and b) we were going on the cruise a few days later and if I didn't have my ID, how was I going to get on the boat, much less get home??!!

However, this story ended with true Disney magic; they found the bag, unscathed might I add, and both the young gal at AK and the concierge at SSR got some big hugs from a very grateful me!

10 days - WOO HOO!!!!!

Thank you!

That is one of my worst fears -- losing my bag on a ride!!! :eek: I am so glad that you were able to get it back -- that would have really put a damper on your trip!

Very cute update, CP! And being at home now, I can FINALLY see your luggage tags! TOOOOO Adorable!!! I am so copying you!!!

And funny 2 of the 5 moments are at DHS. Hope that doesn't become an overall un-lucky park for him!

Copy away!

The only park that Connor has not had a moment at is Epcot -- I hope he doesn't fill in that gap on this trip! ;)

10 days!!! :cool1::banana::dance3::yay::woohoo:

Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor Connor. Those are some yucky moments. Especially #1. But WDW does manage to make it all OK and leave all the happy moments.

Just think about all the happy moments you are about to make... in 10 days! And, yes, we'd like to hear about the not-so-happy moments too-- because as you can see even those turn into pseudo happy or at least nostalgic moments!

Thank you!

I am so ready to make more happy moments -- and you will be sure that I will share any unhappy moments as well -- sometimes those become the funniest parts of the trip report.

All I can say is poor, poor, Connor........:sad2:

I love the 10 day picture of the kids they do look totally pumped!:thumbsup2

Poor Connor is right! Chelsea has had her share as well although most of them were various tantrums she pitched when she wanted to go on a ride RIGHT THAT MINUTE.

They are totally pumped! I am pretty pumped as well!

Love the update! Ten days!!!!! I can hardly believe how close you are to the AKL------ I am so excited for you! Do some good shopping and make sure to be ready to answer all my questions (find that Mickey bag for us- okay!)

Thank you! I spotted a car in our subdivision with an AKL vanity plate yesterday and got a warm, fuzzy feeling just seeing it!

You can be sure that I will be doing some good shopping while we are there!

It's so amazing how kids can let go of all the bad stuff... we should all learn to live in the moment like they do!!

Ohh, just another few minutes and you're down to single digits!! :eek:

Kathy

Thank you! It is not a faux pas to start dancing early at all -- I plan on dancing everyday until we leave! :laughing:

I'll join the dancing!:dance3::rockband:party::jumping1::dogdance:

Thank you! Just make sure you are dancing while you are packing! ;)

First set of replies are back a page.

I will dance at 3:30

Thank you! I hope Luke starts sleeping for a bit longer soon!

I've been noticing that!

Poor Luke.
Poor Mom!

I second this -- I hope you are able to get some more sleep soon!

Single digits!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you! I have been saying, "single digits" to myself all morning!

Thank you! Poor Eric! But I had to laugh at the little girl! She reminded me of the Little Bear in Goldilocks and the Three Bears!

Do you guys have any leaving traditions or roadside traditions? I want the magic to start the minute we leave!

You are very welcome! Have a great time! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!

We don't really have any roadside traditions except that we love exit 368 on I-75 in Florida -- there is a gas station, a Wendy's, and the most picturesque fruit and vegetable stand. We like stopping there to stretch our legs!

You are in single digits!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know it! I am so jazzed today! I may have to do some heavy duty trip preparations to channel all my energy!

YAY for single digits CP!!!!! :banana::banana::banana:
Hope you are enjoying your first day of freedom...I have a few more days and then I can enjoy my freedom too!!!!

Thank you! I am enjoying my first day of true freedom although I am not quite sure why I thought it was a good idea to schedule Connor's dentist appointment at 8:30 this morning. It meant I had to be up and moving pretty early -- I would rather have lounged in my pajamas for a bit longer.

Woo Hoo!!! Single digit dance time!!!

:cool1::banana::yay::woohoo::dance3::cheer2:party::figment::goofy::donald:

Thank you! I may need to take a nap after all this dancing! :laughing:

Oh no! Dropping the camera would certainly rank up there as a bad moment!

Thank you! You wouldn't think bad moments at Disney were even allowed, but I guess they make our trips more colorful!

Connor and I actually talked about how sometimes the anticipation was worse than the actual event. He did really well -- they didn't even have to numb him since the cavity was so small (the price tag on said cavity was far from small though :headache:). He also managed to snag a McDonald's milkshake out of the ordeal, so he is a happy camper this morning.

Just joining in the nick of time! Wonderful PTR! Your kids are adorable. "Buying Disney pins on ebay is a very dangerous addiction." I just found this out 5 days ago! ;) Have a great trip and can't wait to read all about it when you return. BTW Love your countdown calendar! :thumbsup2
