Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

 I'd never, ever wear any of that now, but I love looking back and remembering all the stuff I wore. There's nothing like platforms with leggings and a scrunchie :lmao:

Oh, yes, scrunchies! I think I had a whole drawer full of them -- in all colors and patterns. :lmao:

Aw, you guys are such a cute couple<3 and your kids are so cute...can't wait for the tr

:welcome: and thank you! We can't wait to take the trip so there is a TR to write. :thumbsup2

Hurray!!! I can't wait to hear all about your plans for a Christmas trip!

Thanks! I like the hat, but I don't like that it blocks the Chinese Theatre -- it used to be such a great line of sight from the main entrance to where it is -- very Hollywood-ish.

I was so in awe the first time we rode Star Tours -- I hope they redo the film soon since it is looking a little grainy -- with today's technology they could do some amazing stuff with it!

There should be a MeMom clan/Brookelizabeth meet in December!

I don't have anything against the hat itself, but it does take away from the Hollywood atmosphere as it was when the Chinese Theater was not covered up.

I completely agree about updating Star Tours with some awesome stuff, and I hope it is on a to-do list somewhere on an imagineer's desk right now!

Is it just me or does Connor look a little like Michael?
I thought the exact same thing. Had to read the caption twice to be sure. Everyone says my sons look like my brother but not that much alike.

Can't wait to hear the pulling a TSM story again. :lmao:

Agghhh, I can't believe I did that. How embarrassing! I am going to use the excuse that I did not have enough coffee this morning. I am so sorry. :flower3:

It's okay... we're practically interchangeable, anyway! ;)

As far as the original question... whether we plan to let the two thirteen year-old girls go off on their own... well, I'm still thinking about it. :confused3 My DSis is okay with it, because of cell phones and the buddy system and all, but I have to admit that I'm a bit leery. I'm sure DH (the cop) won't feel too comfortable with it....

I just got done reading your entire PTR :surfweb:.

The kids posing with the scarecrows, hilarious :rotfl:.

Your hubby turning disneyfied, amazing.

Your hubby worrying about Nala being ok, heartwarming.

You trying to get him to be the voice of reason is what I do with Bill (significant other) and Bill does what your DH does.

The first pictures of Nala had me saying "awww" outloud, so then I had to show BIll what I was "awwing" about.

Connor’s picture with Zurg is great :thumbsup2!

I am loving the haircut. I am also addicted to resort changing.

Congrats on getting AKL :dance3:!!

I loved seeing the pictures from how the Backlot Tour used to be, I bet it was fun to see.

Wow Connor really looks like Michael.

Now I am all caught up, I am in awe of your binder skills!! You have such a great trip planned, I so am happy I am caught up now.

I think the year I'm remembering was 1990... we would have been 16 & 17 years old. We took a trip when my best friend was a high school senior and I was a junior - so it must have been 1990? :confused3

I'm not sure how I'd feel about Tricia wandering around... maybe off to ride a specific ride or something like that?? We actually left the resort on our own that day - I remember trying to figure out the whole bus thing...

Second vote for a MeMom clan/Brookelizabeth meet in December -- the rest of us would love to hear all about it!

That's the way I feel about the hat, too -- Disney in trying to make iconic landmarks for each of the parks should have just stuck with the Hollywood Theater.

I keep reading hints about a redo for Star Tours, but I think it keeps getting pushed back due to economic constraints. :(

I was going through pictures the other day and found one where Connor is basically making the exact same face as Michael.

I think you can really see the resemblence there. :rotfl:

I am a bit leery, too, but I am one of those very protective moms -- I am not sure I would feel comfortable with it -- although I always like to think Disney parks are some of the safest places.

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: So glad to have you reading! Thanks for all the great compliments. My binder is my pride and joy when it comes to Disney planning!

Who could forget stirrup pants, a long shirt, scrunchie socks and lace up boots!!! Great pics! :rotfl:

Agghh! And I owned all of those!!! :rotfl2:

We must be pretty close to the same age -- I was 16 in November of 1990. My mom was still not letting me go off on my own, but then, I don't remember ever asking her if I could. I guess I just tagged along with everyone else. I do know I was being allowed to go to the movies and such with my friends by myself.

I remember going with my family in 1988. I was 17. I don't think I went off, but like you I don't think I ever asked to. I just did stuff with the family on vacation. It was just the way it was.

I was definitely allowed to go to movies and stuff. I'd think they started letting me do that at around 12/13 or so. They'd drop me off and another friends family would do the pick up.

The resemblence in those pics is a bit uncanny. Very scary how much they look alike.

I just have to chime in here...
I remember crying hysterically all the way through the Space Mountain queue when I was 13. My parents wouldn't let me wait outside by myself and I didn't want to ride. I sniffled and sobbed throughout the whole line and they made me ride it, I survived but I didn't like it! I just remember gazing up at my Dad trying to get him to take me outside with my puppy dog eyes and he wasn't having any of it! :lmao: Anytime Disney gets brought up with my parents, I have to hear this story again and again.

I flew to California with a friend when we were 15. We went to Disneyland and Knottsberry Farms and a mall in LA by ourselves. I just think it depends on how mature the kids are and how comfortable they with having freedom to being with.

I have to read along over here if it's okay with you. MeMom gave your report a shoutout so I thought I would pop over and read. So far, it's been great and I have successfully avoided real work today! :thumbsup2

OMG I feel older than dirt! LOL I was 29 years old in 1990! :scared1:

Nah, you aren't old! Don't you know that our love of Disney keeps us perpetually young? It's better than Oil of Olay! :rotfl:

Ahhh, poor LL! That would have been traumatizing to me! Well, truth be told, being forced to ride a ride I don't want to do is still traumatizing! ;) You haven't ridden Space Mountain since then, have you?

My parents would never allowed that, but we won't go into where my best friend and I headed at various points in our high school years without permission. :rolleyes1

Ugghh, you had the flu? I hope you feel better now!

Give me a shout when you start your PTR and I will head right over! :thumbsup2

Wishing you a Blessed Easter Weekend, and hoping you weathered the storm ok.

You, too!

We did weather the storms -- I was at my SIL's in her basement -- it was scary for quite awhile with the sirens going off every twenty minutes and that nasty line of storms one right after the other. I am exhausted now! Hope you weathered them okay, too!

We weathered the storm ok. I did not wait for the sirens, when the hailstorm started and the cats ran to the basement I went also. I figured they must know something.

Hey Miss Jackie---just wanted to wish you and your beautiful family a very HAPPY EASTER!!! I hope your weather has made a turn for the better!!! Love ya girlie!!!

Probably so -- I think animals tend to be very instinctual about things like that.
