Got Pixie Dust? A June 2009 PTR ~TR Link, Page 180

Yes! That was actually the leg I was thinking of when I wrote it!

Oh, that is so funny!!!

I always stare at that leg when we go past it. Every time. It's interesting to me to see the varying levels of dirtiness. You know they go in there when the revamp the rides for maintenance, and someone's shouting, "Hey! This pirate needs more dirt on his foot!!!" :lmao:

Charles and I decided to just stay home yesterday -- we figured it would be madness out and about. I made lasagna and red velvet cupcakes for dinner.

What did you and Chris do for V-Day?

Yeah, Chris and I should have just stayed home too, he had to work until 6, didn't get home until about 6:40 and then by the time he showered and we got out to the restaurant it was 7:45 and the wait was 2 hours! So we ended up getting Taco Bell  This morning though we went to Friendly's for breakfast and made quesadillas for dinner so it wasn't too bad, we made up for it. Next year we'll just do like you guys did. Red velvet cupcakes? Those sound yummyyyy :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Those were almost Charles's exact words about going to the Magic Kingdom when I told him about Space Mountain. I just gave him the one raised eyebrow look that basically says to him, "Don't be an idiot!" :rotfl:

hahaha.. I couldn't even give him the raised eyebrow.. i was to busy laughing about how mad he was.. talk about acting like a girl!! hehe  Actually.. I was more surprised that he cared that much.

Chelsea asked me today which park is my favorite, and you know, I don't think I can narrow it down -- I love them all for different reasons. :goodvibes

I also love them for different reasons.. it took me a while to finally figure it out.. and I did this by notcing which park I tend to choose first, which ones i have more things to do at, and which ones i feel the most sad if I can't return more than once.. and it ended up being MK and Epcot.. but I've only been to AK once, so it might change.. as for HS.. its ok.. i like it but it doesn't compare to the others.. to me anyways.

I don't know if I have a favorite park persay...I have favorite attractions at each park....but I always want to go to MK first. It's like, not Disney until you've walked down Main Street towards the castle. *sigh*

A little info on the coming Stitch attraction:

From MousePlanet:

Stitch's SuperSonic Celebration, "a high-energy, retro-futuristic music video dance party that features Stitch, an interactive dance troupe, and a DJ celebration host who’s inviting all Walt Disney World guests to come party, dance and celebrate," will eventually take place in this large area beginning this spring.

It reminds me a little of the dance parties they have at the hard-ticket parties (MNSSHP, MVMCP, and P&P.)

Kathy

That sounds like it will be fun! I can imagine a bunch of kids dancing around to it. :goodvibes

Whichever park I'm in at the time, have been to earlier, or am going to next - that's my favorite one!

I'm so confused.

That's axactly how I feel.

It changes daily for me. :rotfl:

Connor liking Stitch has helped me somewhat.

My opinion, for what little it is worth: I think Disney could have done something a thousand times better with this attraction, and I hope they will do so with the live show. Having said that, knowing that little guys like Connor are quite happy with Stitch's Great Escape helps me realize that there are things there for everyone, and they can't all be our favorites.

I think Stitch is a cute little fellow, and I'm hoping the new thing will be something a lot more people will really enjoy.

That's similar to what I tell myself while standing in line. Connor's love of all things Stitch and seeing the joy on his face makes it all worthwhile. :goodvibes

CP -every time I see you write about staying at AKL, I get excited all over again for you! That will probably be the second deluxe we stay at, when we can do that someday. Wilderness Lodge will have to be our first, because Trent has wanted to stay there ever since he first laid eyes on that place.

One of our secretaries at school is going with her three daughters this summer, and they're staying at AKL. She doesn't know anything about it - she's just letting the daughters (college-aged) do the planning. I told her she was going in style! I don't think she really realized it. She's just putting in what they told her her share of the money is every month to pay it off. Since she really doesn't know what she's in for, I'm more excited about her trip than she is right now! :)

I love all the DIS friends that I have made who share my excitement on a daily basis! Y'all are the ones that truly "get" why I do a happy dance over AKL and then do the happy dance with me!

I can't wait to hear what your secretary thinks about AKL -- she is going to be so wowed by it!

That sounds like a blast and something that both my kids (and me and Charles) will enjoy checking out. We loved dancing with Cinderella's mice at MNSSHP! Thanks for sharing that!

Oh, that is so funny!!!

Great minds think alike! I want that job where I am climbing all over the set pieces of POTC deciding who needs more dirt.

I have gotten to the point where Taco Bell and a quiet evening at home sounds divine! :rotfl: The red velvet cupcakes have been very good this week.

I was thinking that those red velvet cupcakes sounded very yummy too:goodvibes

They were/are -- we still have about six left. Soon I won't be able to fit into my jeans. :rotfl:

I also love them for different reasons.. it took me a while to finally figure it out.. and I did this by notcing which park I tend to choose first, which ones i have more things to do at, and which ones i feel the most sad if I can't return more than once.. and it ended up being MK and Epcot.. but I've only been to AK once, so it might change.. as for HS.. its ok.. i like it but it doesn't compare to the others.. to me anyways.

I think AK still seems so new to me and there is still so much we haven't done there that the novelty is still there. However, I am blissfully happy no matter which park I happen to be in. :lovestruc

That's a great way to look at it and so true -- I have no problem picking my favorites out at each park!

My favorites are Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

I love the theming of World Showcase and the theming in Animal Kingdom the best I think -- with Adventureland right there with them -- although as soon as I say that I start thinking about how much I like the theming of old Hollywood at DHS.

Those are my favorites too!:goodvibes

Good choices, good choices! :thumbsup2

That sounds like it will be fun! I can imagine a bunch of kids dancing around to it. :goodvibes

:lmao: I may need to figure out how to work the video mode on my camera to capture my two in the act!

Whichever park I'm in at the time, have been to earlier, or am going to next - that's my favorite one!

I'm so confused.

Me too -- or whichever park someone is posting pictures about on their TR. :rotfl:

Magic Kingdom Must-Dos: The Other Stuff

This is the last post about the Magic Kingdom (next month: Epcot) -- we have revisited my former trips and talked about our must-do rides and attractions. This post outlines all the other stuff we want to make sure that we do while we are there.

Food and Other Yummies!
*Dole Whips: Can I just say that as the weather gets warmer, my craving for delicious pineapple soft-serve ice cream rises!

*Sleepy Hollow Funnel Cakes: Mmmmmm!

*Main Street Bakery: Three Words -- French Toast Loaf!

*Pecos Bill's: A Charleston Princess and Family tradition.

*Columbia Harbor House: Everytime I see pictures of the food here, my mouth starts watering.

*Crystal Palace: Winnie-the-Pooh and Mickey Waffles!

*Main Street Confectionary: We love their fudge.

The Pictures
*A Photopass Picture with Captain Hook in Adventureland: I definitely want Connor and Chelsea to sword fight with him. I have seen the photos on others' TRs and they are adorable.

*A Photopass Picture of the Ghosts and Hearse in Front of the Haunted Mansion: Does anyone know if they do this at any other time besides Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party?

*A Photopass Picture in Front of the Castle Holding Tinkerbell: Another one that I keep seeing on Trip Reports that I adore!

Shopping
Shopping is not quite as big a thing here in the Magic Kingdom for us as it is in some of the other parks, but I would like to browse through all the stores on Main Street.

Other Stuff
*The only things that really stand out here are wanting to visit the new Stitch Dance Party and seeing Wishes.

In other news, Disney received all of our tax refund that I sent in last weekend, so now, I only have one last payment to make.

Congrats on almost being all paid up! I've never seen Captain Hook in all my years of going to WDW! I hope you get that photopass pic. It sounds really fun. :thumbsup2

If nothing else Jackie, we could go to Magic Kingdom and eat together!

French toasr loaf! That sounds interesting!! Your choices are awesome. you are making me hungry.

Congrats on almost having the trip paid off! Do you know we have NEVER stopped at any store/restaurant/snack shop on Main Street!:scared1: We are always rushing to the rides! I really want to spend some time soaking up the Main St. atmosphere this trip! I LOVE the Captain Hook pictures too...a must do for us as well!! Have you figured out what you are going to do about DHS yet? I am still slightly stressed about it!:goodvibes

Great update, Jackie! I'm so excited for your trip- I know that I say it every time but I can't help myself!!! I'm starving now-thanks a lot. And I must say- I sooo can tell you're a teacher by your lists. They are short, concise, and to the point. No lost- readers here!!!

Dole whips!! We got those after riding PotC one day (another family favorite and must-do, like for you) -- I ended up getting the float and kind of wished I had just gotten the regular dole whip, but it was still yummy and still something I can only get in WDW. :cloud9:

The french toast loaf sounds really really good; I'll have to hunt that down on our next trip. Funnel cake -- I was still and still am dying for one. When my mom and I were at Epcot, we were going to get one with fruit topping from the American pavilion, but the line was huge! I think it was because we made the mistake of going to Epcot on one of their early entry days.

I'm still so excited for you staying at AKL -- I was thinking of you last weekend when we went there to eat at Boma. I wanted to wander around and take pictures for you, but I'm severely directionally challenged and didn't want to go further than the lobby, lest I get lost and have to make my parents call me and try to find me. :rotfl2:

I am bound and determined to make it to the Main Street Bakery on my May trip.

I love your list but I am sure that is not shocking. ;) I agree that you do need to find the Captain Hook sword fighting picture, that would be adorable with Connor and Chelsea. :goodvibes

You know, even my mom has a picture sword fighting with Captain Hook? :lmao: It's quite cute.

And she and Nana did the scary ghost thing in front of the Haunted Mansion, too, but I believe it was at a MNSSHP. I'll have to ask her.

And of course my dear, I am so with you on the whole Dole Whip thing. I'm craving them now. :lmao:

OK, I hate to admit this, but I'd not even heard of a Dole Whip until the Dis. Now I'm craving one. Can you crave something you've never even tasted? :lmao:

I'm with you on the tax refund straight to Disney. Only $200 left on our package @ the BC!:cool1:

Do you have to request that the photopass photographers take the pictures with imaginary characters, or will they automatically take them in certain places?
