My fiance and I are thinking of moving to the Orlando, Kissimmee, etc area.

Any ideas of good communities (somewhat low/moderate price...but nice) around this area?? Would get an apartment first and house would come later.

Also, is there anywhere with a good job market??

MetroWest is a nice area to live in for both apartments and homes.

I've been researching further.

How about Clermont or Hunters Creek??

Any places to absolutely stay away from??

I've a friend who is planning to move in the near future and she's been doing research. She said Hunter's Creek is the area where the future "ligh rail" (?) train system is supposed to go through, so it's not a good place to buy into. Of course, the rail may not happen, so who knows?

I'm moving from NW Orange Cty to the LBV area and it is really tough. Before picking any apt complex call the police to check on safety/crime in the area. Metrowest has some great complexes but some really scary ones too.

The Altamonte Springs and Lake Mary areas of Seminole County are nice with better schools than Orange or Osceola if that makes a difference. Plus there is a decent job market in that area (Lake Mary, Maitland) especially for more "professional" jobs.

Depending on your price range, you may want to consider an Alexan community managed by TCRS for your apartment. A bit pricey but great floorplans. There are also some new apts going up downtown that seem nice if you like a downtown feel.
