Any strategies to make the best of our time?

DH and I will be going to his uncle's wedding in either March or April in Florida. They don't have the date confirmed yet but will be letting all family know sometimes this summer.

We were planning on staying at a hotel near his home in Sanford (30 minutes from Disney) and going ot Disney one day. We are going to be staying Friday-Monday and grandma will be with the kids here in NJ.

Well yesterday out of the blue DH says "Oh what the H#LL let's just stay on Disney." :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I am SO excited!!!!    We will do POP. Fly in Friday early in the morning after we get DS off to school and then fly back Monday afternoon.

We will take advantage of EMH, do a park and dinner on Friday, do something SAturday morning before the wedding and then do Disney parks and meals on Sunday and Monday.

Do you think it would be smart to get the Dining Plan? What meals would you recommend?? I like character meals but think maybe one would be okay.

Any suggestions? WE have never been kid free. WE have only been twice with kids. :goodvibes I am not a Disney expert at all!

Without the kids I would definitely do California Grill or some other nice non-kid type restaurant.

It's so fun to go kid free... you can ride whatever you want and the logistics are so much easier!

Enjoy it!

I would skip the character meal. It might make make you feel sad that your kids aren't there with you!! Pick the places that you wouldn't normally eat at with your kids. Disney really is so much fun for adults!! Plus you have time to really enjoy live entertainment, shopping, adult beverages, World Showcase...You're going to have a great time!!!

We are going 7 days kid free!!! We even have a couple of character meals in the deal, along w/ a visit to V&A...can't wait 'till June. We will be staying at the PC, saving $$ for more eats. I think we will even do some touring of the other resorts since we will not have the kids pulling us in all directions...It's gonna be a large time!!

DH and I LOVED Narcoossee's when we went (kid free) for my birthday last year. I highly recommend it for a nice romantic meal. We love going kid free at times because we can do the things that we love (and kids aren't so fond of). We enjoy sitting and watching "Off Kilter" in Epcot, we take a boat ride in DTD when the boats aren't full, and whenever possible we stay in resorts that are a little less chaotic (POFQ, CSR, etc). Have a great time and make the most of your time together.:hyper2:

I went kid free a few years back and had a blast. I was in Florida on business and had a few days in between meetings so the business partner and I had 2 lots of 4 days at WDW. There were plenty of late nights at PI and various restaurants.

Last time went with the kids and again had a blast but much more restrictive in what we could and the times. Expecially younger children got tired out much quciker than the adults but still it so much fund seeing their excitement.

Hope you have a great time.

Thanks!

I really want to do Coral Reef too. You guys are giving me lots of great places! Thanks! :goodvibes
