Going back to the other "World" GKTW 3 Big Gives 5/14

WARNING WARNING WARNING

My ticker is off by 2 days we will leave 2 days ahead of what it says. We are telling the kids we will be in Universal Studio's on Friday which is what my ticker says ;) So really we are not lying to the kids we are just not telling them the day we are leaving to get to Florida :hippie:

Just checking in. So glad you have dates now and a plan. Looks like everything is falling into place!!! And the countdown begins  So excited for all of you.

Hi there just getting some time to get caught up on the DIS and wanted to check in. Looks like you have some great plans in place for your trip...are you still maybe planning on extending your trip at AKL? We stayed there after our MAW trip and it was really lovely. I hope you are all doing well and I look forward to following along as your trip gets closer.:cool1:

Nice to see you. How are things. Things are falling into place. Now we are just planning out what to bring. Carseats and which stroller for Ella. Packing for 7 plus telling (I mean sweetly asking) my Inlaws what they need to bring is always fun :thumbsup2

Glad you came over. Your trip report is making me want to go right now.

I wish we were doing a few extra days, but DH and I got Vetoed by his parents. SO Dh and I are thinking of going back by ourselves this fall :rolleyes1

I think the attitude is part of the normal puberty stuff going on.
From what you have said I think you are right.:hug:
Yes my In-laws are the kids PCA's. Along with a family friend. We are one big happy family raising these kids together. They say it take a village and I have the best village people in the world. :cloud9:
That is SOOOOO wonderful to have grandparents so willing to help. I plan to be that way!

I think it is awesome that your extended family is such a great help. Dh's family hasnt really talked to us since shortly after we adopted. They were against it from the beginning (long before we got Luke). My parents are not so much against in fact they adore the girls but they have a hard time with Luke. They thought because we chose our kids, we should have chosen one who did not have any special needs. It is sad, but their loss. He is an awesome kid, even on his worst days. To bad, they cant see past the disabilities to see him.

Sounds like a great plan...I might have been willing to trade a few of our extra days for some days with just my husband and I.;) I really hope that works out for you all. A nice and so well deserved break!

Just poking my head in and finally making a post. ;)

I think your plans are very reasonable and you should be able to fit everything in... and more! :goodvibes

I started reading your PTR awhile back and then lost track of it, but I'm back now and want to post before I forget again!

First, BRAVO to you and your dh for all you do for all the wonderful children you've had in your home over the years. It takes a special heart to be so giving and I can't even begin to imagine having to send a child you are fostering to a new home. You are saints!

Avy is just gorgeous and looks like a true princess -- you can tell that her hair reminds me of Jasime's. I saw you were dining at Akershus so I assume Avy likes the princesses. It sounds like you have a fun trip planned. I wish you had more time there though -- having so many special needs children has to make things more time consuming, but glad your PCAs are able to travel with you. That should be a big help.

My Father was not very supportive till we got Avy. I had to take him with for a lot of her early appointments, because I needed the extra hands. He really changed his tune about what we do. We have been very lucky with all the help we get. I couldn't do it without all the support. I also have the BEST husband in the world which makes this all possible

I would just love a full nights sleep for once. :thumbsup2

Welcome
Avy loves the princesses. She use to love the fairies but moved on. I think she looks like Jasmine too, or Mulan.
I am a little worried about all the wheelchairs this time but we should be fine.

Send off Party!!!
The wish granter emailed me yesterday and wants do Avy's party on the 15th :scared1:
They are thinking about doing a pool party. Anyone ever heard of a pool party send off? The kids will love it :banana::banana:
Jason didn't get a send off party so this is all new to us.
Our wish granter is heading to Europe this week. So I am sure we won't hear anything for a few weeks.
If she wasn't going to Europe she was going to try and come to Disney with us :sad1: It would have been a blast we love our Wish Granters. :flower3:

I know the parties are amazing. I am in shock with the "Telling the kids party" and now this.
We didn't get a party for Jason so this is overwhelming :lovestruc

Avy and Hayden's Wheel Chairs are in :cool1: We get them next week. I wish we could get them this week since Avy goes into Leg casts on Friday for 2 weeks on Friday. :rolleyes1

I have a list going and keep adding to it daily as I think of things. (handicap stickers/ no daily meds)
I think we are going to pull out the suitcases this weekend to start packing what we can. The kids still have no idea when we are going but will find out this weekend when we make the count down calender. We will make it off by 2 days ;)

Kathleen, you and Loren are definately very special people! what you have done for these children and all the others you have welcomed into your home, hearts and lives is so amazing and wonderful!
so happy Avy is getting her wish, all the kids are so cute and look so happy, you can tell you have a very happy home!

I'm late to the party ;)

You have an amazing family!!!!! I'm so happy the Avy is getting her wish :banana::banana: Reading your PTR has truely blessed my day :)

I don't think anyone has answered your question about the camera. First--have you tried getting yours repaired (I did that for my DSLR recently and it was under $150). I love my Nikon Coolpix S3000 for my point & shoot. I got it at Best buy for right around $160 last spring. Quite honestly I can't really tell much difference between the pictures from the coolpix and my D80.

I wanted to say HI!!! :upsidedow I'm so happy that things are coming together for you guys, what a cool idea for Avy's send off party. Love it! I've missed so much over the last 3 weeks. :goodvibes

I'll checked that camera out thanks. I have a P&S lumix which I love so I think I will just get that brand again. Jason called dibs on the old one so I don't feel to bad about buying a new one. ;)
