Going back to the other "World" GKTW 3 Big Gives 5/14

Wheel Chair Update
Avy and Hayden's chairs got approved They ordered them this week so they should be here the Last week of April. Just in time for the March of Dimes walk on the first. Glad we don't have the pay for them Hayden's is a little over $4000 and Avy's is over $4500. I am now the mom of 3 kids in chairs. I really think we need to look into the 12 passenger van soon.

thats great about their wheelchairs coming so fast!! that is super quick in wheelchair world!! What did they get? I work in the wheelchair clinic at my children's hospital and am always interested in what people have!!!

They are both getting Quickie 2's
Haydens is the new Glow color. It is a really cool white. It glows bright yellow in the dark. He got the jay-3 back. Avy got the pink one. She got a Jay 3 back too, but hers is suppose to curve around her more on the sides. I don't know what it will look like
We loved the Quickies and hated the zippie when we did the trials at home.

Thats cool!! I know what they will look like!!! They should be pretty easy to deal with as well. That back is easily removeable for folding. Avy must have the deeper contoured back. The glow glows pretty bright for a while!!! and the pink is so pretty!!!! Zippie is made by quickie, but a different model. They are both good chairs so you couldnt have gone wrong with either!!!! YAY!!! What about seat cushions?

I am so happy for you! If we hadn't had to postpone we WOULD have been at GKTW for a lot of the same dates...now I will just have to experience it through you until we get there.

And on the quick turn around on the W/C...I know we have spoken about this before, that is AMAZING!!! I am SOOOOO happy for you all AND you will have some much needed extra help with the children with the PCA's joining you! A GLORIOUS DAY all around!!!!

We all hated the zippie. It just didn't feel right to us. The quickies just felt nice to push. I think Hayden is getting the basic memory foam seat. Avy is getting something curved to hold her upright better. We loved the white tester. The wheel chair eval people said they have never had anyone order a white one before. When we saw the name Glow we turned off the lights and boy did it Glow. Hayden about freaked out. He thought it was the coolest thing ever. Avy wanted purple but they talked her out of it. They said it wasn't a nice purple so they talked her into pink. I loved the Jay 3 seats on the tester chair. We are also getting the stroller handles because if I have to push 2 kids at a time it will be easier for me. I have Avy and Hayden in cast at the same time alot so having chairs will be so much nicer then trying to carry them.

First the good then the bad
She got her new len and she can see again. She is watching TV for the first time in 2 months as I type this. She says she can see again. I am so happy I want to cry.

My poor Avy We went swimming at the Y yesterday and she tried to go up the ladder and slipped. She scrapped up her leg so bad. I don't know if her brace is going to fit over the swelling and scraps. It is a good 6 inches and about 3 inches wide. It was bleeding all over the place and is like a huge rug burn.

We got her brace on today. The swelling is going down. It still looks raw but she is not whining. If you remember this is the kid that doesn't feel pain so when she told me it hurt I knew it was bad.

She was so excited to watch Wizards of Waverly place again. She doesn't need me to hold her under the arm anymore either. She wants me to hold her hand instead wiping tears

MAW called today. We are getting everything figured out for the trip. I had to get some paperwork emailed to the Social worker for Christian. Plus Auntie Bobbie so she can stay at GKTW with us.
They are going to get us 2 minivans. They are excited, they thought we needed 2 handicap vans, so they are VERY happy.
We should have finally Dates and Flights tomorrow. It should be the week of May 15th sometime. Most likely on the 18th.

I love our worker she is so sweet and said she loves working with our family because we are so easy going. She said a lot of MAW families are crabby We are so thankful to be allowed to do this I can't believe people are crabby. I can understand the waiting is hard but these things take time. Sorry vent over I am just sad to think their are crabby MAW families out there.

We had a great day off from school today. Grandma/grandpa and I took the kids to the Zoo. We didn't stay to long but enjoyed watching the new baby dolphin swimming and jumping and goofing around. Then we went out to eat at Red Robin. We have never been there before. It was a lot of fun.

I had to comment on your crabby MAW families...I totally agree. Our wish granters kept on telling me how nice we were to work with etc and how that is not always the case. I can't believe someone might not be nice to their wish granters who are giving there child the chance of a lifetime whatever there wish is. I guess some people just can't be happy and thankful which is really sad when you think about it.

We should have flights today. She was on the phone with Delta when she called me to ask if the 18-24th are Okay.

It makes me so sad to wish Families act that way.

Everything sounds so great... in regards to other wish families... some people don't deal with the stresses very well and take it out on others and that never helps anyone... I'm glad that your Grantors can say that they enjoy working with you...
