I've been looking for a way to take yogurt on the plane - to mix with my cereal for breakfast & discovered that the standard GoGurt tubes are 2.25 oz!! Perfect! A couple of them will fold into a quart bag easily and still have room for more stuff. I'll freeze one, refrigerate the other! (and on WW it's only 1 pt!)

<----- lives in NM.

I am always surprised to see others from NM. Dunno why.

There are other brands of 'gogurt' that come in standard yogurt flavors. We buy the Horizon organic ones that are strawberry and blueberry.

That is great info to know! Thanks! Something about neon blue yogurt turns me off. :rotfl: I don't even look at those kinds of packs when I am buying yogurt., Now I will ahve to!

Yes, I know that Go-Gurt tubes are 2.25 oz. each, which means they are not to big to put in your 3-1-1 bag. I know they are 2.25 oz. tubes because it says so right on the box.

The problem is, the Go-Gurt tube itself does not have the size printed on it. Therefore, you can't take it with you through security. Well, I guess if you get there at a time when it's very empty, and the TSA agent has enough patience to witness you open a sealed box, load the tubes into a quart-sized zip-top baggie, look at the small print on the box to see that each tube is 2.25 oz. ... in other words, not bloody likely.

Each container is not labeled with the size, so you can't take it through security. Sorry for the bad news, but it's true news.

Every airport's security is different, but every yogurt I have tried to bring through has been confiscated by security at CMO (Columbus....) (Including Go-gurt). I was disappointed because I always pack breakfasts and lunches for my family and that is what we love to bring with us.

I'm sorry to rain on your Go-gurt parade, but just wanted to share my experience with you! You can always give it a try if you are willing to risk losing it. Good Luck!

cant you just freeze it and put it in your checked luggage? That would solve the security problem.

Well ...

If you take it out of the freezer and put it in your suitcase just as you walk out the door ...

It could take you 45 minutes to get to your airport (or more!), and you get there 90 minutes before your flight ...

Then your flight is 2.5 hours ...

Then you use Disney's Magical Express, which means that your luggage should arrive 3 hours after you arrive at your resort (meaning it'll get there about 4 hours after you land) ...

So it's already been away from refrigeration for 8 hours 45 minutes ...

And if you go out and play rather than sit and wait for your luggage then it will still be more hours until you can refrigerate it ...

Then maybe you can see where it's not as simple as just freezing it, in many cases.

This is not exactly a legal answer, but if the Gogurt tube is made of plastic just put it in your pocket and walk through the metal detector.

Call your airline, but as far as I know you can't carry yogurt through security. My mom just got stopped. It's like a beverage, not a toiletry. Just bar a yogurt when you get thru security. Or mix it with cereal before you leave home in a throw away tupperware.
