hi everyone!!

Sorry I've been MIA lately...trying to finish up some end of season stuff before the snow starts, and get ready for our next trip.

Prayers and pixie dust are requested. I just got home from the hospital. My Mom (Nanna) went into respiratory failure. The docs don't know why. but she's currently in ICU on a vent.

they suspect pneumonia and possiblly swine flu... but they aren't sure. her cardiac stuff and blood work all seemed ok

Anyhoo.... just want to let you all know I def won't be around much. I have to take care of things for my mom,and since she's layed up...I need to take care of grandma too. I'll pop by and let you know how she is doing. i really don't see WDW in 2 weeks for her though I think she'll insist I go with all the kids...so we will see how that all pans out over the next week or so.

I am definitely ready for the weekend!!! I want to get through homecoming week and be able to come home and relax...of course this weekend starts Mission conference at church so we will really see how much relaxing I get to do.

Happy weekend girls!

I wrote a long message with individual responses yesterday but I was on Greg's computer which doesn't remember me on the Dis and by the time I clicked on "submit", it had logged me out and the message was lost

I'm bummed I missed chat last night! I was at the football game until late and didn't check in here when I got home. (they won BTW....undefeated for the first time since 1947 ) Who enabled who?

P, I saw your comment on FB about your Mom improving. Glad to hear! You and she have been in my thoughts.

Anyone with fun plans this weekend? We are going to Des Moines today to hit the big home improvement stores. Our home refinanance will finally be complete this week and we are taking out a little extra money to do the bigger home projects we need to complete before we will be able to sell. So we will be looking at flooring today. Greg went to our local place this week and they have a project planning computer which will give you blueprints, a materials list and cost estimate. Did you realize decking materials are about 1/2 the price in the winter season? We will buy the materials and store them in the garage until spring. We are also going to bring my computer to Best Buy and see if they will have any sympathy for my situation (I'm not holding my breath!)

Tomorrow is the Halloween carnival at the Y. Kids wear their costumes and there are all kinds of games. We will meet some friends there. One of our friends has a friend with a farm and they have invited the kids out to see the baby chicks and other animals. should be fun!

Katie, sounds like you have a fun filled weekend planned! Smart idea on getting the supplies in the winter when they are cheaper.

I have no big plans this weekend. MIL & FIL are coming over here for dinner tonight but get this....MIL is bringing the food....already prepared and just reheating in our oven. If I did all the cooking in my house I would be offended but it's Marc who cooks. She's an odd one that MIL.

I do plan on sewing today before they get here and then maybe tomorrow I might go see that new movie Amelia during football.

Hmmmm...I'm sorry I missed chat too!! I think I was home in time, but last night I just decided to spend some time with my hubby and we watched some tv shows together and just talked it was great! We really needed that time.

Glad to hear P's mom is feeling better! That is great news!!

Well I will get the pictures of our spirit truck and let you know the results on Monday, I think we have a shot at 1st place YAY!!!!!

Hope you are all having a great weekend! We have a dinner tonight at church, Prince P and I are going to be eating in the Jewish section so I'm looking forward to that! I'm bringing fried apples so I still have to make those!

Hi girls! Oh I am so far behind in the DIS chat! The 1st full week of work went really well! I have learned 2 important lessons this week:
1) This job is really going to test my fear of heights. There's a shark tank that we clean on the oceanfront, mind you it's about 1000 gallons, we get IN it to really clean it once a month, but we have to stand on the TOP of a 6 foot ladder to do 3x a week cleanings since it's on top a 4 foot platform. Holy crap!

2) My muscles need to develop quicker. I completely forgot how many/much muscle you use to scrub tanks, especially the bigger ones. We carry ladders and many many MANY 5 gallon jugs of water and carry them up and down ladders Earlier in the week I was SO sore, but I think my muscle memory is coming back a little already

I have one more 1/2 week of training, then I'm on my own! Once I do that, I'll start taking pictures of the tanks themselves and posting on facebook!

I'm back in Maryland this weekend working on my project, hopefully I'll have no more than 3 more weekends left to do this, it really sucks, but the townhouse is coming together, still lots of stuff to organize in the hall closets and 2nd bedroom, but we're getting there!

So mad I missed the chat last night, I really need to remind myself next time, I have some serious catching up to do!

I love the holiday movie season as well -- speaking of which, Charles saw a New Moon trailer and wants to see it now. He said, "It looks pretty good. I need to see the first one before we go see it though."

Amelia looks like such a great movie!!! I wouldn't mind going and seeing that!!!

My weekend was okay!! Very busy and this week will be busy too with Missions Conference and our teens' Harvest Party Friday night, but I'm hoping Halloween will be a little slower! I'm getting a few bags of candy this week and when that is gone I'm done LOL!! We also have plans to finish up the backyard hopefully tomorrow evening!!!

I don't mind being at work today, we are having a teacher work day so any day without students so I can catch up with grading is a great day!!
