Gnomies Gone Wild

Hi, Gnomies! I must confess, Christine, that I am in a funk as well. Nothing seems to be going right for me these days, and it's really bugging me. Usually I am a very optimistic person, but not lately. :sad2:

My goodness, we are a funky bunch. :lmao: I feel just the way you described, Jackie-- NOTHING is going my way and I'm miserable. I want to snap out of it but I just can't seem to. :sad2:

Hope the rest of the gang is faring better!:upsidedow

Why are we all in a funk? It seems like when one of us gets hurt (physically) we all do! Now we're all in a funk!? Let's see in the past few days, my shark tank was messed with and we had about 30 gallons of water spill out onto the floor, I almost fell off my ladder, I gained about 6 new bruises, had to deal with absolutely annoying people dressed up in dolphin costumes while I'm trying to clean the tank, got lost all day yesterday on my new route....hmmm, yep, check for the funk with me too! Yesterday I got fed up and put my ipod on, pretending that I couldn't "hear" since I was running behind schedule and I could hear this old couple behind me "well I don't know, maybe she can't speak english!" haha

Miss you all!!! :goodvibes

*cues 70's disco music in the background* Take me to FUNKY town!!!

Oy there is a lot of stuff going on at work, we had a teacher fired last week and no word as to why (tends to cause my paranoia to go into overdrive), there are a lot of issues going on at Phillip's work, we still haven't had any word on his health tests yet, and the list could keep going on!! Just like Jackie, I tend to be more of an optimist, but lately all of that has been drained out of me. So I'm feeling your pain and I'm saying a prayer for all of us LOL!!!!

Hello my funky bunch!

Yeah, I am mostly lurking these days too. My funk is easy to pinpoint...I have resigned the prospect of a gnomefest trip. There is just no way I can make it work (OK, maybe I could make it work financially but I just don't feel like it would be the fair choice for me to make when Greg is the one supporting our family financially right now. Any exta cash should really go for a family vacation, not a solo) With park hours for April now out and the ADR window opening in a couple weeks, I'm feeling the funk too!

October was a busy subbing month for me (12 days I think) but November looks to be slower (only 4 scheduled so far)

We finally signed on our house refinance. We were able to draw on our equity to pay off credit cards and one of the cars. We also took out a little extra to work on a few bigger projects we want to do (new floors and porches). We would like to get it into sellable condition over the next 4 or 5 months.

The house we really like is still for sale. It's been on the market for 5 months now with no offers. We are hopeful that when I get a contract in the spring (3 science jobs opening in the district for next year!) we can get a pre-approval for a new mortgage and if the house is still on the market, we will be in a position to get a heck of a good deal!

CP, I missed that Chelsea had been sick, is she doing better?

Jen, how is your weather now? My parents report they have been quite warm! October was a record setting cold month here but so far November has been beautiful!

LL, how are you feeling?

Jess, sorry your job has been stressful this week!

P, are you ready?

C, Have a great day!!

I'm in a funk too! What oh what is going on with the gnomies? :headache:

Just so much is going on lately, I just feel like everytime I get ahead something drags me back under. It's really frustrating.

Katie, I'm feeling really good. I've lost 43lbs so far and feel really good. Marc's surgery is next week on the 11th. He's been on a liquid diet since last week because his BMI was so close to what it needs to be at surgery so to be safe they wanted him on liquids so they wouldn't have to cancel it. I'm a little nervous about his surgery, it's just scary. I know he'll be fine but I worry but I try not to put that on him so I worry in silence.

I hope things start to look up for all of us gnomies! :grouphug::hug:

We need someone to volunteer to play the role of Pollyanna and cheer us all up. :lmao:

Yep, that is it exactly, Christine.

had to deal with absolutely annoying people dressed up in dolphin costumes while I'm trying to clean the tank

This so beats out the things that have annoyed me this week.

Teacher firing is always scary!!!

I think not having a trip planned is contributing to my funk, too.

I am blaming the full moon and the time change -- everything is out of alignment.

Just so much is going on lately, I just feel like everytime I get ahead something drags me back under. It's really frustrating.

::yes::

I didn't think of the full moon and the time change. Maybe that is the problem! Nice to hear from so many of the gnomies despite the pervasive funk. Here's hoping it lifts. At least tomorrow is Thursday! :thumbsup2
