Gnomies Gone Wild

Hey girls!

Things have been busier than normal around here. I subbed 3 1/2 days last week and already am scheduled for 2 next week. Today was the parade for the loacal festival and we had several friends join us at our house (it goes right down our street so we just put out a bunch of chairs early and go out a little before the parade starts) then we had a little lunch together. Between last week's pinata, today's parade and halloween; the boys will have enough candy to last another year :sad2:

We are going to look at a piano this afternoon. Greg and I have talked about possibly buying one in the near future and a secretary at his work has one she is selling for only $100. It's a beautiful older upright (burl oak if that means anything to you) and will probably need to be cleaned and tuned by a professional but that still is WAY cheaper than anything new. We would like to get Patrick started on lessons so when he gets to 5th grade and starts band, he can select any instument he wants.

Sorry CP you are feeling money regrets and Connor is sad. Lucky you though gets 3 trips in basically 1 year!

LL, enjoy your last week of freedom!

Julez, glad you got the last of your stuff moved, hopefully the unpacking will be done soon (it would probably take me a year to move my house :rotfl:)

HEEEELLLLLLLLOOOOOO GNOMIES!!

Come out, come out wherever you are!

I am in day 3 of subbing for chemistry and forensic science. Kind of fun but I am excited about being done too. I already am on for middle school subbing tomorrow and Thursday so I am keeping fairly busy. I still would love a full-time paycheck but this at least keeps things from feeling "tight". We feel like we can afford to go out to eat and go places for fun and not worrying about being able to pay for groceries next week.

LL, how is the first day back?

P, are you ready?

Did you see the new deal?

Buy 4, get 3 at moderate/deluxe resorts
Buy 5, get 2 at value resorts

Dates go through March. LL, do you dates fall in the range?

I did see the new deal. I just emailed my TA. Not quite sure if that is better or if an AP rate is going to be better. :confused3

The first day is going okay. I'm so ready to go home.

Hi, Katie! The classes you are subbing for sound very interesting!

Thanks for the heads-up about the new deals -- unfortunately, I need June dates :(.

Hi, LL! Glad your first day back is going okay, but I totally understand the wanting to go home part.

LL, since you have to purchase tickets with the buy/get deal, you may be better off with an AP rate. Glad your first day back is going well.

CP, waiting is the hardest isn't it! I would have been in a real dilemma if the dates extended into gnomefest. I of course have to sit here and say there is just no way to justify booking any trip at this point in time.

I'm enjoying the chemistry classes fine. Forensics sounds exciting until you realize that the students taking it are doing so to satisfy their 3rd year science requirement only. Most of the high level kids take chemistry because that is what is required for college so forensics is a lot of low motivation kids. I haven't had any problems, just lack of motivation on the kids part.

I'm just way overwhelmed and to top it off I have a second interview at the Disney Store tonight @ 5PM so I have to go straight there. UGH. I'm ready for my pj's!

Katie --- I saw that about the tickets. Someone with an AP got around that by just adding the person with the AP when they arrived so I am awaiting the prices. I need park tickets anyways.

Hi girls!!! Oh how I miss you all! So the moving is done! It was like a world wind...especially since I went from frederick, md to newport news, va to virginia beach and back to frederick, md and now living out of a suitcase at my friend's apartment in a matter of 3 days! I'm staying with him and his gf from last night until thursday, then going home for the weekend to baltimore then back here again from sunday to friday, then going to north carolina for one of blake's cousins wedding. Then my 1st day of work starts on the 12th! Wish me luck that I'll finish before then! My boss is so nice for letting me use 2 more weeks without penalty. Has anyone been keeping up that the new Sookie book comes out on Oct 6th?? Definitely will get that one, especially since it'll keep me sane since I'm spending all my days and nights in the lab except for sleeping. I will upload pics for you all this weekend since my computer is not here.

LL-hope work went well! let us know how the disney store went!
C and JJ and MM are in Disney still right? Lucky bums! ;)
Katie-So happy for you getting all these subbing jobs!!
CP, P and Stace-Hope you're doing well!
Julez-So glad that the move is done for you too!

hey strangers.... did you see the deal about volunteering for one day and getting a one day ticket or use in 2010? I'm soooo in... good oppurunity or the whole fam to put in time as well.... :)

Only 1 million though so don't know how fast that will go.... prolly pretty fast I imagine?

Hello Gnomies!

How is everyone doing?

Jess, PM me your new address. I still have your Sookie Stackhouse book to return to you.

Julez, I did hear about the volunteer opportunity. I think it's a great idea. It just stinks that they are only going to release the details and such in January. Doesn't give me enough time to work for a ticket.

Hey girls, just thought I would pop in and say hi this morning. No subbing today but I already am scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday and Friday.

Jen and C, I hope your first day back at work is an easy one. Sorry you had to go home but I sure missed you guys!

When are P and CP returning? (ETA, just saw that CP returned home last night too. Hoping for a good first-day-back-to-work for you too)

Jess, how are things going? I'm thinking of you and hoping the research is cooperating!

Julez, are you settled into the house yet? How are you liking it?

LL, how are things back to work? Sounds like the weight loss is coming along wonderfully :yay:

Hi Stacy!

What happened to Jen (MM)? :confused3 Haven't heard from her since her trip.

Good morning Monday! Ugh... my auto-pilot had a glitch this morning and I handed hubster a full thermos of cofee-without a lid! He didn't notice either and soon enuf... it was all over the floor, wall, and himself. :( Aiyaiyai....

Today Rachael transfers to her new school, which is just 2 minutes away and has an after school care program- which is God-sent since we were paying $110/wk!!! Keep her in your thoughts today that she does well- she is reallly nervous!

Really settling into the house nicely. Can't say I'm meeting my unpacking goals but it's moving along.......sloooooooooowly...............

Morning Gnomies.

Katie, work is okay. I think having time away made me realize how much I don't like my job which is just depressing. :sad2: I haven't quite decided what I want to do about it.

Julez, oh no about the coffee! I hate it when things like that happen, it often seems like those types of things happen in slow motion too. UGH I hope Rachael has a wonderful first day at her new school! :teacher:

Morning, Gnomies!!! One day I hope I don't feel so overwhelmed by things to do -- maybe by the end of the week I will feel caught up on all the chores.

LL, did you finish The Lace Reader? I am about fifty pages into it (if that) and trying to decide if I should stick with it.

Katie, thanks! We did have a wonderful time but this back to work thing stinks!

Julez, hope Rachael has a fabulous first day at her new school!

I didn't want to influence you....but I HATED IT. I invested myself into reading it and the ending was HORRIBLE. :headache: It was one of those books that you kept thinking "this has to get better" but it got weirder and weirder as it went on. :sad2:

I am not loving it, and I am on page 40. Do you think I should just stop now and read The White Queen by Philippa Gregory instead? You and I have such similar tastes that if you hated it, I am almost certain I will, too.

So I'm totally feeling overwhelmed oh yes I am, found out I'm expected to be in 2 places at one time tomorrow LOL and I have my evaluation form due tomorrow sometime and in hindsight a lab on the first day back might not have been the best thing ever LOL

Right there with you, Jen. I feel like I hit the ground running after arriving home yesterday and am feeling so frazzled. So what am I doing instead of tackling the four must-dos on my to-do list? DISing.

Honestly, I would give up on it. I really hated it. I am dying to tell you the big twist because it was the stupidest thing EVER.

I had to read that three times before I understood you weren't EXPECTING.

 I misread this for a second and thought you were making an annoucement :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: Oh, I crack myself up sometimes :sad2:
Glad I'm not the only one!
